The day my mom bought this game for my brother and I we just so happened to grab KFC on the way home. I still remember the those delicious mashed potatoes and being blown away that my fares were just as hungry for them as I was. Thanks mom!
It really blows my mind watching this where you have more time at the end of the current run than you had at the end of the previous one. Even more impressive is where you go across town WITHOUT a passenger & STILL are able to increase your time over the next few runs. Amazing skills!
@@crazyfrank01 Sorry, I meant a customer run (a pick up & drop off is what I mean by a run) where you drop off the first customer, pick up a second, then somehow have more time after you drop off the second customer than you did when you dropped off the previous one. I am seeing the pattern you use but it's just so fast, it's hard to keep the map straight in my head. Also, I think Twin Galaxies doesn't allow emulation high score due to possible cheating, pausing, & controls which are different in an emulator than controls on a physical machine. Like for Crazy Taxi, I'm not sure how easy it would be to go between Drive & Reverse with the actual machine as you do it with a keyboard. That's likely offset by not using a steering wheel, but how to judge... Regardless, it's so much fun to watch this game played at such a high level!
I remember seeing the old record years ago and it pushed me to actually play the game for myself so the fact that there's a new record for such a long standing one is insanely impressive.
Congradulations!! This game is also a passion of mine. I hit a PR for me yesterday with 112 customers, and $59k! I will adopt your strategies and see how they affect my play, thank you so much for sharing your work :)
I prefer using the gamecube version, is there a particular reason you use the dreamcast version? Gamecube emulation is very clean and i do not feel the delays you talk about in the description
Thank you Skylor! I love this game too. I use dreamcast emulation because I downloaded it first to play CT2, then I used it to play CT1 too. It's easy to download a gamecube emulator? I had problems trying emulators beyond the dreamcast one. Congratulations too!

That was an amazing play! Each maneuver was so refined that I could feel your skill and passion in every move. I recently found an arcade where I can play Crazy Taxi on the original cabinet (it’s been almost 20 years since I last played!). I’ll use this video as a reference to improve my score. Thank you!
I had a buddy get a Dreamcast at a time when NO ONE had ever even heard of it at the time in the United Kingdom. I'm guessing he must of had other games but whenever I would go over to his house after school or whatever he would ALWAYS be playing Crazy Taxi. Like he wasn't a mean guy or anything because he offered to let me have a go like all the time but I was more than happy watching him play because he was a GAZILLION times better than me at video games!! I remember asking him one time why he never followed the arrows and he replied, "Because yes you will get to your destination following them but it takes forever so your better off learning the layout of the map and keeping it in your head. Plus you discover shortcuts etc not following the arrows."
This game really exemplifies arcade gaming at its absolute best. No unnecessary realism, just a timer and a score. Severely underrated game. I hope it never gets a remake or a reboot because whoever is in charge will get it wrong, of this I have zero doubt.

I thought I seen a new strategy and then read the description. Guess rooftop Grandma is good to pick up early because she never gives me more than around 79 seconds. You got 90? or so.. I’ve been playing on PSP and still trying to beat my own $85K record 😂. I didn’t know they don’t allow records with emulation. Many other games do but those are much older. Probably because save states can be loaded and edited together cutting out the mishap’s in between. I’d like to see you do some console game play someday. Dreamcast, GameCube and PS2 in that order from best to worst visuals. GameCube has the better controller of the 3. PS2 would be the cheapest to set up including cost of the game though.
The grandma gives up to 100 seconds! It's the only customer that gives you 3 digits of time in Crazy Taxi 1. Yeah, cheating on emulators is pretty easy :( Anyway I'm not sure if it's possible to hide the using of save states on Redream bc there's a number that shows on the screen when you load the save state so it's kinda obvious. Maybe I'll do some tests. I'd like to play in console! Hope one day can do it but sadly I don't see it as a near future :(

Yeah, it's a lot of memorization. For people starting out, it's good to just take advantage of the easy to remember spots. Like going from the stadium to the police station or other nearby stuff there. For me I think it's easy once you get to the police station to pick up reds until you end up at the bank or the hospital and only taking greens from there, since you could turn left or right. It's more about learning which ones will tend to mess you up bad. There's certain ones that always go a certain place, and ones that change, or aren't even always available to pick up.
