    fun fact: Uhaul has the largest fleet of vehicle registered in Arizona, because ALL of their vehicles are registered there.

    • @YaowBucketHEAD
      @YaowBucketHEAD 5 ปีที่แล้ว +216

      I move a lot. More than I would like (job) and I've used UHAUL about 6 times in the past 10 years and I noticed that every truck, no matter what state I rented from, had Arizona plates.
      I always thought it was due to people trying to get the hell out of Arizona. It's was probably cheaper to register the trucks in AZ.
      Never really thought about it.

    • @inter5123
      @inter5123 5 ปีที่แล้ว +107

      YaowBucketHEAD the company is based out of Arizona so when uhaul buys vehicles they get registered from the state the company is based in and those laws are applied. That’s how some exotic car owners buy $250000+ cars and not pay sales tax since they have an LLC out of Montana and Montana doesn’t have sales tax but they’re cars have to be registered in the state

    • @inter5123
      @inter5123 5 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      Agent J I think it works like that though, it might be Delaware or one of the states in that region but I know that a bunch of U.S companies “base” their company out of a building in the state and get out of paying a bunch of taxes.

Or being told they have a trick but you need to drive to a different location to pick up a trailer on your dime. I have deep knowledge of Uhaul I dated Rose shoen in for two years in Reno NV the daughter of Mark Shoen he is a cold person it was all about money and business. I was thrust into a world I was not ready for. He tried to basically get me into the company and privately invest into it. I just met his daughter at college and it was always weird and uncomfortable to go their big house in Reno off keiztze lane. I met more of the family and it was all about money deals and no one could barely smile or just relax.
    Rose and others brought up the whole situation in Telluride CO with the death of Eva. I didnt even know or ask. I was just the boyfriend of Rise and then in being theust inti the whole damn thing if uhaul. It felt like a cult.
    I miss Rise but she is a carbin raised copy of Mark to be all about business which is a good successful way of doing things but I was so out of placed. And the wifes oand other family members felt as if they were sharks waiting to eat eachother to get they're meat off the bones of the company

    I had no idea of the internal strife in "da family." (Think mini Mafia.)
    I did appreciate the U-Haul shops vs. renting from gas stations. You would have to call around or like my dad, just drive around until he found a trailer the size he wanted or after looking for half the day, settle for something much smaller requiring many extra trips. The centralize U-Haul stores made this search much easier. I can't, however, imagine anyone buying party supplies from our local greasy dirty noisy dusty warehouse type store which was not all that inviting.
    By the way, I liked your silhouette on the iconic orange U-Haul background.

    All I can say is, when people call pretty much any rental truck a U-haul (quite common where I live) you know a company is successful.

    When our family was moving here from New York, my mom had a U-Haul land on her foot. To this day her foot is still swollen and we it her U-Haul Foot.

    Every time I think of a good idea I research it and find out somebody already successfully did it, leaving me thinking _"I coulda been a CONTENDER... I coulda BEEN SOMEBODY."_ 😮‍💨
    My latest one was protective sleeves for eyeglass stems at hair salons when you're waiting for your hair color to set. My mother got her hair colored for YEARS to hide the gray, and she always had to hold her glasses up to her face with the stems folded closed to keep hair dye from getting on them and staining them.
    Somebody recently created it. My colorist uses them now after I described the concept to her and she ended up finding a company that already made a product like that.
    The next time I went in with my mother to get our hair done she showed them to me, saying "LOOK. You could have been a m¡ll¡0naire, sweetie.😩"
    (TH-cam's comment nanny axed my original comment twice and I have no idea what on earth pinged it, thus the weird word edits.🙄)

      You should NEVER, EVER rent a truck from U-Haul.

      I rented a Penske truck 4 years ago to move from New Jersey to North Carolina. It was several hundred dollars cheaper to rent the same sized truck from Penske. Uhaul is a rip-off.

    The biggest reason I dislike U-Haul is because they don’t use diesel, even in their largest truck. At first I didn’t think it was a problem, because it uses the last big block Chevy ever made. But holy shit it comes at the cost of power and efficiency. There was a hill driving through Colorado where I was literally doing 20mph up it.
