Parasite (2019) was last year's BEST PICTURE winner at the Academy Awards. I actually saw the film at Fantastic Fest 2019, but because I saw so many films at the festival I didn't end up reviewing the film at the time. Better late than never! Here is my Parasite (2019) - Movie Review

I didn’t know anything about Parasite before watching it, even though I’ve heard lots of praise for it, so I watched it afterwards and I LOVED IT!! It was absolutely amazing from the acting, cinematography, story, writing, humor, directing, twists, etc. I remembered being blown away by it, and that ending was a shocker!! Parasite was a total surprise, and it definitely deserved Best Picture!!
This movie goes from 0 to Tarantino in seconds and it’s awesome

Masterpiece
As someone who's watched literally hundreds of anime if not more, I have absolutely no issues watching foreign language movies, and this one is certainly deserving of being seen.
Same with you, I went into this movie knowing absolutely nothing. All I knew was it was a South Korea movie and won best picture. And honestly, the best way to go into the Parasite is not knowing anything about it! This is fantastic movie! A+ for me
Regarding the “Bad” section Sean, if you’re talking about that last last scene, director has addressed the, let’s say, probability of that happening- so again another social commentary, without it being clear while watching that last bit.
For me it added another layer of shock regarding their situations
I agree. I always wondered why the parents were not working. I then wondered if the father had a criminal back ground and could not get a job and maybe this is why the family was so poor. He shared his poor decision making and insight with his children. Making decisions that were manipulative and hurtful to others for their own self needs. Then, when I seen the ending, it was shocking, but not shocking for me, because he was a man who was unemployed who did not provide for his family. He made his children do this for their family. So his lack of insight and poor judgment is what I seen right from the beginning. That is why it wasn't a shock for me what he did. I believe that is what Bong Joon Ho also was trying to get across.
This movie is still so underrated. In my opinion, Parasite is the best movie of all time. It gets better with every viewing
I completely agree. I’ve rewatched Parasite over 3 times because it’s just too good. The story, cinematography is just incredible. This film was perfectly executed. Definitely one of my all time favourites.
Please PLEASE do more foreign film reviews whether it’s on this channel or the second I’m here for it

Soooo about the final 10 minutes

If you're talking about Ki-Woo (The father’s son) seemingly buying the house and rescuing his father. Director himself said that would be impossible since it would take at least 547 years to buy the house. So I feel like that final shot of the camera panning down in the cold winter showing Ki-Woo. Was to show he is having another impossible dream up his head, another landscape rock that will eventually topple down on him. However, if your talking about the RICH HOUSE MASSACRE, yeahhhhhh- it went bit too far to the slasher genre. Loved the video just leaving ya the comment just incase ya did not understood the ending. If ya still think that ending was the weak point I still respect your opinion!

I've been waiting for you to review this movie since I was a baby.
I went into this movie completely blind and based on the name and poster I thought it was going to be a zombie movie hahaha. I was pleasantly surprised! (not that I wouldn't have also enjoyed a zombie flick!)

One of the few best picture winners that actually deserved it.
I had a class where we it was tradition to fill out Oscar predictions and I was the only one to guess this as best picture, and then when it won my professor freaked out and I was like “I just chose my favorite movie man”
Also going in 100% blind is the best way to enjoy this movie
I have only seen this once, but I enjoyed the Dirty Rotten Scoundrels-made-by-Tarantino mostly. It does go on too long a little too long, didn’t work for me in the final stretch by going too overboard, and works best when it’s not too on-the-nose. But the midway twist works, and neither side is wholly demonized or too sympathetic.
This is the only movie I've ever watched with subtitles and it was worth it. Movie was brilliant

Ford vs Ferrari, 1917, and Doctor Sleep were the best movies of 2019 imo. Lots of great movies came out that year

I have to disagree with you on the ending, personally. I think most of the characters got the ending they deserved- they ruined several lives, after all. Being stuck in a basement for eternity is a suitable punishment for the father etc.

I feel this movie is overrated. Like we're supposed to sympathize with the lower class family but they act so unbelievably selfish it pooled me out of the film. Like am I supposed to learn something from them? I didnt get it.

Spoiler: this movie is a masterpiece, but I wasn’t a fan on how Mr. Kim killed Mr. Park for such a minor reason which puts him wanted for murder, although this could have been easily avoided!

i didn’t like this movie tbh. a friend and i were going through the horror section on hulu, this movie was in there and we heard it was movie of the year and neither of us knew anything about it. i was expecting an absolutely horrifying movie since it won movie of the year and the only parts i found either scary or an edge of your seat moment was when the kid was getting food from the fridge, or when they were hiding under the table. i also didn’t like any of the characters either, i liked the daughter of the protagonists and that was it
