My dad taught me a lesson on saving that had my butt hurting. From that I saved most of my life. But then my money got "stolen" at home. So started learning about banks and savings accounts. Then I started working. From 5000 a month and no debt at a young age. I was rich. I was lending money out to my brothers on the regular. I got promoted and everything was great. I bought a car almost cash. But then met a girl got engaged and my whole life got turned upside down. I went from being rich to being 800 000 in debt now and retrenched. I'm currently on a journey to pay off my debt. Fingers crossed this year. The lesson was... don't have kids. don't let your partner pressure you into a lifestyle you don't agree with. Be careful who you let into your life. Cause I'm not really friends with most of my family or friends now.

One great way to save is pay yourself first.. when you get paid throw $25 into a ROTH IRA (no relation). If you do this regularly, you will end up with $30-40000 in 3-5 years. quarantined. Pay yourself first!!!!

what ever You’re very right 👌🏾 For a start tho, that’s a stretch for a lot of people, except it’s an habit before the pay increase. It also depends on other factors, a lot happens in each person’s life, but I totally understand what you mean. Your summary was basically what she did🙌🏾
Oh my, this hits home. South Africa has more opportunities than Namibia. But this helps! We've heard that too many times. You are an amazing woman, your content is amazing and helpful! ♡
I still didn’t get how you made a million. You saved your way to millionaire status or what? What job were you doing. Did you start a side business or something? Your video lacks a lot of specifics.
Hi Nicolette, I like what you are doing- you give advice based on what you achieved. People need to understand we don’t all have to follow the same path but some principles on wealth creation stay the same. Nna ke re pele ya pele 🍾💃🏽
From a salary of 4k to 13k then 50k and then double that without no qualification in a period of 2 years is extra ordinary. You had a very generous babd God sent boss, coz most companies will keep you at the same salary, a few awards here and there and slave you.
your idea is good, the problem is that it needs money and lots of luck for South Africans, having your salary multiply by 12 in less that 2 years is highly unlikely, you have to be very lucky despite your work rate and success..... but you are accurate on the idea, it is what i support too. many of our young people earning a few tenths of thousands can become millionaires quickly if they don't all flock to Midrand to rent and chase a certain middle class standard of wasting money.
mohau thekiso but the rule is the same despite how much you earn. The message is spend less than you earn. Live beneath your means and don’t increase spend when your salary increases. The numbers I give you are mine. How easy it could have been for me to live a luxury life
@@FinancialBunny i agree with that part i understand it and i have been practicing it for years, my comment says you are accurate there...... but you also have to agree that the way your numbers boomed up does not happen to anyone as likely.... it has to do with luck.
Okay, I think I'm missing something. My question then: HOW did you become a millionaire? You're a great motivational speaker, basically telling us not to conform to societal pressure. I do get that and agree 100% but a bit more clarity will do. Many comments here are seeking clarity on the HOW factor, I'm also one of them. Love your videos, love your content, and love how well spoken you are. Thank you for encouraging most of us Black, young women. Kudos
The money figures she's talking about, if one is working for the Government, it means they must first earn a Director post and then save money and become a millionaire. Also, don't succumb to Black Tax, SARS, Environmental costs etc.
@@JohnnyMavuso Not quite, it depends where you are. Some Directors in govt are still deep in debt. Downgrade your lifestyle for a few years and you will become a millionaire too.
I love that book...Live beneath your means and save more than you spending. No faking it to impress people who contribute nothing to is.Let's put in the work , sacrifice and research. Wisdom right here..good video 😍😍
It is always good to share tips that changes people's lives. However, I was expecting the specifications on what job you were doing, how did you get promoted in such a short space of time and earned more than 100% of your initial salary. How much petrol we you buying per month while you were still earning a salary of R 5000.00? I take it your video is meant to inspire and motivate others but some of the things you said are unrealistic and lack explanation. You ignore a lot of questions regarding what you were doing and in which company. I am not disputing the possibilities but the pace and how easy you achieved all this raise ethical concerns.
@@bandilesibizo4810 R 4100 + R1000(from Dad), rent R2000+ car R2000 that means she had R1100 to live on...would you buy petrol and food in that amount? Plus cosmetics...try to make sense of it
Eddy Ntimbane maybe she didn’t buy makeup and everything she just lived on her needs 🤷🏽♀️. And at it sounds like her dad took care of most of her expenses so she survived & used his money and saved hers only thing that makes sense atm 🤷🏽♀️
Eddy I think you are right, this is one of the reason why I don’t usually listen to S.A motivation when I’m on bad space, I don’t I think everyone is just fast forward to tell us about their life during when money was more and rich One thing that they miss which can improve South Africa and decrease VAT is where exactly they started and more information about step major to afford
@@faithlebomokabane5472 That is a thing. I think SA motivational speakers fail to give practical steps to how things are done, and when you follow their stories you find something new each time. I love your content! I know your family is proud of you. You are young & brilliant! I would definitely love to sit down & chat with you whenever I make to SA.
I earn a high salary and invest in my small businesses as well as investing my money while living in a 2 by 8 apartment with no dept. It is working very well so far 🙂. I think the problem is people are not patient enough in their journey and succumb to the pressure of what you talked about, which is comparing themselves to the level that their friends are on. A person has to remain self-aware of who they are and their situation by remaining consistent and disciplined to achieve their goal. SELF-AWARENESS!!! 👌 Great video!!!

It is possible to produce superior performance provided you do something different from the majority. However, most of us tend to pay more attention to the shiniest position in the market to the cost of proper diversification.
Having monitored my portfolio performance which has made a jaw dropping $470k from just the past two quarters alone, I have learned why experienced traders make enormous returns from the seemingly unknown market.

Thank you for sharing. Sometimes plain English is too much for people to comprehend. Stop spending and save. Realize you don’t need everything, sacrifice for the goal. End of story. Everyone’s situation is unique. If a paraplegic can climb Mt. Kilimanjaro..... Moral of the story, stop making excuses and make changes to get what you want! Thank you again! You don’t have to tell people what you at for breakfast so that they can grow. What you eat may make me sick so I need to figure out my own diet to keep me healthy🧐.
Not bad advice, but I don’t agree that it’s that cut and dry! Most of us enter the job market with 1-2 siblings to put through college and heaps of ‘black taxes’ to pay..and not to mention student loans..so you basically start at a deficit. Debt becomes very difficult to avoid! But I cannot knock the advice, it’s good but I wonder how practical it is in the Sout African context!

Oh no I hate that u put all that work in and went through all of that! I too had a similar situation in my last relationship I'm doing my best to get back above water and be debt free! How are things going for u today?
@@CPR4THEBODYlivingaenrichedlife I am debt free. I sold everything I owned. Paid off what I could. Moved back home. Started doing freelance work and paid off most of my debt. I have two hobbies that is a constant income stream and now I learned that with Covid no one is going to come down and help you 😂😂 you need patience discipline and surr people will look at you funny and call you broke but it's not what they think that matters. I'm up I got half a house so far paid and I got a old car that I fixed up. It's not a mercedes but it gets me around I also know how to service it myself. It's a old ford bakkie. This pandemic just made me a different animal.
I love the video. I personally don't think she became millionaire by accident. The steps she followed are clear. I love how she managed to live below her means. Living within your means is not good enough in wealth creation. Thank you for sharing
Very happy that I bumped into the video, I'm really young but feel like I don't save. You really encouraged me😊
me too hey am on some saving tip now
Me too!!!😍
Kholiswa M Im trying to save too
One great way to save is pay yourself first.. when you get paid throw $25 into a ROTH IRA (no relation). If you do this regularly, you will end up with $30-40000 in 3-5 years. quarantined. Pay yourself first!!!!
Zee Heavens start now youngster! Max out your 401k if you have one and any matching funds programs your employee offers get into it!!! If you're not sure what's available to you, go to human resources and FIND OUT!!! You could easily be a millionaire when you retired if you do these things at this age. You don't need a great big salary, you have time on your side. Get these things in order and just be consistent. It will pay big time, because sweetheart, you won't always be young(:-)))
It's not about how creative the video is but the Quality of Nicolette content
Lauren Booysen thank you. The vids are already long so making them creative takes away more time
@@FinancialBunny No need for creativeness at the moment. But I love that's so informative, which that when you watching you don't realise it's a long video
She had the advantage of living outside of North America but the principles are overall the same. Be frugal, invest into stocks, real estate or your own entrepreneurial pursuits and when you make more money stay the exact same while saving or reinvesting the surplus.

It was a waste of time tbh. She didnt say anything
My first ever video of yours, that literally changed my life, thank you very much for giving direction.
Are you really a millionaire? the manner you articulate your issues is very simplistic and becoming a millionaire takes more than just that
This takes an intense amount of discipline you deserve an applause
How easy it could have been for me to live a luxury life
@@FinancialBunny i agree with that part i understand it and i have been practicing it for years, my comment says you are accurate there...... but you also have to agree that the way your numbers boomed up does not happen to anyone as likely.... it has to do with luck.
mohau thekiso definitely I’m conscious of that and perhaps that made it easier.
@@FinancialBunny million rand haha, its not a million usa, but congrats. Im close to a million rand.

She’s giving you the basic principles which is the value in the video
@@JohnnyMavuso Not quite, it depends where you are. Some Directors in govt are still deep in debt. Downgrade your lifestyle for a few years and you will become a millionaire too.
I also think she's a good motivational speaker but she insists she doesn't like motivational speakers🤔

Eddy Ntimbane she did say she paid the rent and car and then her dad helped her with the rest tho 🙆🏽♀️
Eddy I think you are right, this is one of the reason why I don’t usually listen to S.A motivation when I’m on bad space, I don’t I think everyone is just fast forward to tell us about their life during when money was more and rich
One thing that they miss which can improve South Africa and decrease VAT is where exactly they started and more information about step major to afford
@@faithlebomokabane5472 That is a thing. I think SA motivational speakers fail to give practical steps to how things are done, and when you follow their stories you find something new each time. There is a tweet where she wrote about how she managed to live on 10K salary but now that 10K salary is not mentioned.
