this is the kind of video I was looking for, you focused a lot on the RAW files and zoomed/cropped details, and 50mp mode. A very few reviewers are actually testing, RAW images and 50MP. Amazing!

I spent all morning shooting with the thing ... I've found that everything looks way overprocessed (which maybe is what you meant by smartphone-ie?) ... but I was doing nature/animal photography ... and I suspect that it's been optimised for humans/built environment (which I say with no evidence beyond that's what I've seen in numerous videos where people are talking about how great it is ... and that's the most obv diff to what I've been trying it with).
I really liked the overall photo and video performance of the new Google Pixel 8 Pro. I just found the night video test in selfie mode a little bit disappointing because there was too much noise. Nonetheless, hoping to pick one up too soon!
The natural bokeh the sensors - especially the main one - combined with the bright apertures give you is unreal. Phone cameras are getting better and better.
Absolutely helpful thank you. The ultrawide looks noticeably better than my p6pro Looking forward to when video boost comes out. The noise reduction looked a bit too strong at some points
Im a photographer and I LOVE YOUR REVIEWS ABOUT PIXEL'S, This year the only thing what i want and i will do, its buy the google pixel 8 or 8 pro. Your videos and your photos are too amazing, thanks for this great quality videos. Greetings from Venezuela
@@hariboholmes4638 already have fullframe. Some of this is better then the other, probably wait for a good 1 inch sensor in a Phone before update. Saw onother video with pictures on the sky, pixel seems to be a bit better.
@@yamahaevo The pixel has always been the best at taking pictures since it is come out and also it's the most reliable meaning. If you give the phone to a person they don't have to know how to take pictures, how to adjust any settings or anything like that. They can just point and shoot and you know for a fact the picture will come out good. Then if you marry that up with you actually using your controls you know your pictures are going to come out even better than if you apply raw and want to edit more or you get a pro and you use the pro controls. Not to mention the fact that you can take great astrophotography shots with it and you don't have to know how to set it up and low light photos are great. Pixels are the reason why phones have night sight on them because Pixel got so good at taking night pictures that everybody else had to add it. Also, the real tone is unmatched, especially if you're a colored person. No phone takes pictures of my skin or any of my friends. Skin has accurately as a pixel does. It's insanely accurate, especially in video now
Great camera review exactly what I was looking for! Btw how was the battery life throughout the day taking so many pics and vids and was the phone getting hot?
This was a wonderful review. Very well done. Very positive. I'm definitely thinking of upgrading from the 6 pro. Anything you haven't liked about the phone in your use of it? One thing I have found is that the night sight photos can be overly bright when compared to reality. I also use night sight for a high percentage my images even in full daylight. I do like the long exposure mode as well when shooting around water. Would love to hear your thoughts comparing it to the iPhone 15. Thanks for the terrific review.
Thank you so much! For me portrait mode is not my favourite - I prefer to add the blur afterwards if I want that look to the photos taken on the normal camera, but I usually just leave my photos as is. Night sight I personally really love how the photos turn out though! I think they are good brightness, but you can also adjust it if you think they are too bright.
Could you make a video talking about "Raw" video on android? There's an app called MotionCam Pro that can record on the highest quality of your device There's some samples here on youtube, the app takes out all of that phone look,it's insane how little people are talking about it Maybe in the future you could do a comparison between stock cam and the app, then raw and ProRes!!

I have the Pixel 7 Pro and overall, I've been able to capture some amazing photos and so far the best one has to be my capture of the milky way galaxy and a dozen light photography which I am loving! I only stumbled on light photography feature when I was using the "night mode" and realize depending on how long and when light is introduce into a photo capture. @@goatqi having both is of course nice, but not everyone can buy both phones. Have fun with yours, though. Why do you prefer the Pixel for Photos and iphone for video?
I would suggest the pixel 8 pro because ever since the pixel has come out it is always been the best phone for pictures every year and then that just got boosted when they added night sight capabilities and it's always improved from there. The astrophotography is also phenomenal because you don't need to know how to shoot Astro. All you have to do is just point and shoot and it does the rest. It's the most reliable phone for taking pictures. Meaning out of all phones that you use. You know that you're going to get a good shot when you just point and shoot. Not even being intentional with how you want the shot to look. Also, the real tone is unmatched if you've ever shot with an iPhone versus a pixel, whether you do it in camera or in another app, say, for example Snapchat. You can clearly notice the difference between someone's skin tone, especially if they have a darker complexion. Nothing comes close to the accuracy that a pixel has
@@therealzuluking thanks for explaining. I saw a test video where i kind of liked how the iphone handled the color tones.
