He’s so adorable! I don’t want to be a jerk and you feel like I’m putting you down, but if you wrapped him tightly in a swaddle he’ll probably sleep longer, also in a quiet, dark, room with calm music on. Also he shouldn’t be sleeping with a beanie, babies loose their heat through their heads, you are doing an amazing job! I’ve just had a baby too and learnt so much in the short amount of time! Good luck xx

Everyone approaches things differently and personally I think skyes slaying mum life and she seems happy with her routine x

To all the negative comments... what you’re witnessing is two new parents ten days after bringing their first baby home .. will it look perfect- no, but can you see how much they both love him, how supportive they are of each other? Yes.. this is what is important. They will learn as they go, each day they will learn new things about their baby and what he likes and enjoys, what soothes him, what makes him happy. Congratulations Skye and Lachy, Forest is a healthy beautiful bubba. Hope you all get some sleep, and the settling in period goes well. We’ve got an almost four month old now and the time sure flys by! Sending lots of love 💗

Just a helpful tip skye, I work in childcare and one of the key things is putting the children to sleep in quiet, dark rooms with maybe some calm music playing. I don’t think you have had a baby before or if so, just 1. I couldn’t have a calm house if I TRIED with my twins newborns... they have 5 older siblings... so no... best little sleeping babies ever even with the chaos and noise and yelling and doors slamming and lawn mower and constant in and out of the car 10 times a day and laying next to each other whilst the other babies is crying ... so... no to quietness.

Haha yeah rightio! I have two sets of twins! Thank you very much! And iam a single mum and midwife for iver 10 years and have a cert 3 in infant sleep training so before you make statements like that.
Ok maybe a chaotic household works for you and your kids? It is definitely not the best environment to bring a newborn into i can tell you that the amount of stress an infant feels not only from mums stress and emotional hormones and anxiety but everything else going on around them leads to an anxious baby and an unsettled baby..... you have to think about....the fact they have spent 9 months invetro and than they are born they are adjusting to sound smell cool warmth opening and closing their eyes this is ALOT for a new born just adjusting to that! And makes them exhausted let alone throw everything in the midst we try to explain to new mums about a healthy happy and safe environment even at the sleep schools we teach that having older siblings doesn't mean that they have to be put right in the middle of the chaos and having that relaxtion time for a baby really does wonders for their development mentally and physically there are two forms of sleep infants go through maybe research a little about REM sleep and the best environment for a newborn to thrive.
That's great you have 5 kids and you seem to think the chaos is good for your baby.
Skye has one baby no siblings so it would be beneficial for her and her baby to have that nice relaxing one on one quite time.
Also having baby wether be twins because like i said i had two sets! Having that down time with them be in bouncers on in swings with the lights dimed and the white noise playing does WONDERS for there development.
      But thanks for the reply!

But they sure as hell have no muscle strength or a firm scull to be putting up with that motion with his little head bobbing back and forth i get it he might be playing but that's how you would play with a 2-3 year old.... maybe.... i wouldn't but just saying that baby is fresh 10 days old!
There is so much going on for him right now no wonder why he isn't sleeping!
He needs to be put in some sort of routine where it is consistent and a calmb environment to setyle and put him to sleep.
Swinging him around like that barking dogs bright lights tv going and them talking is not going to settle a 10 day old baby....
But what would i know I've just raised 3 kids 2 being twins and have been a midwife for 10 years!
You are 100% right shaken baby syndrome is not a joke!

SHAKEN BABY SYNDROME COMES TO MIND.
    What Is Shaken Baby Syndrome?
Shaken baby syndrome is a serious brain injury caused by forcefully and violently shaking a baby. Other names for this condition include abusive head trauma, shaken impact syndrome, and whiplash shake syndrome. Shaken baby syndrome is a form of child abuse that causes severe brain damage. It can result from as little as five seconds of shaking.
Babies have soft brains and weak neck muscles. They also have delicate blood vessels. Shaking a baby or young child can cause their brain to repeatedly hit the inside of the skull. This impact can trigger bruising in the brain, bleeding in the brain, and brain swelling. Other injuries may include broken bones as well as damage to the baby’s eyes, spine, and neck.

If you had ever seen what i have seen in cases brought to us in a&e you would be just as concerned as what I am. I can see Lachy loves Forest but being that rough with a child that is 10 days old is going to do him no good. The person who you are seeing in this profile is my son. does anyone else pick up strong vibes of her being so self focussed? She just had a baby and shes mostly talking about the way she looks and complaining about how she has so much stuff to do and baby won't sleep. Like why the hell would you care about how you look WHEN YOU LOOK FINE AND AMAZING when you have A BABY???? It's so irritating when she zooms in on herself and says "wow my face is disgusting look at this situation". Wtf? She is so self indulgent and should focus on looking after the baby and his needs and how freaking beautiful he is and like live the moment of being a mum giving the baby all her love. She portrays that she loves herself more than the baby. Literally.... she says her face is a "situation" but in reality her face is so beautiful and healthy looking and looks better without makeup. They need to be more gentle and loving with the baby, babies are so freaking fragile, how could they not know this? It's not a doll... and at the end where his head is flopping backwards, does she not know anything? He needs head support love!

There’s videos and ebooks you can buy for every stage from pregnancy through to toddler for sleep. The company is on the Gold Coast actually. Unless you are willing to do it in the birthing suite or birth class you teach!
You obviously need to learn alot more! Like just how soft an infants skull is? How the jerking back and forth and no neck support can damage not only their neck spine vertebrae but potentially cause risk to brain and other organs! Before you claim you are a midwife and not just a crazy fan girl read up on a few bios please tell me the hospital and board certified doctor you are under because this level of support from a midwife especially stating that a 10 day old baby isn't like a feather commented under a video of the dad running and jerking his head back and forth and swaying way to fast and punching him is somthing you would teach to be ok behaviour is disgusting and should be reported.

time for all the “ perfect mothers “ to come out and start commenting. everyone has their own parenting styles. Lachy shows so much love for forest we can all see how obsessed he is in each video Skye uploads. Yet y’all are all out here trying to say he’s being rough. Step back and let them be. If Skye thought Lachy was rough she probably would have said something.
