Wow your videos are so perfect! The combination of music, your voice, your messages about cottagecore and life in general, the places that you go and visit...they are all just amazing! It's like every video comes inside from a fairytale! And your beautiful eyes shows that you are a good person that deserves a lot of good things in your life! Keep up the good work! Also congrats for the 1k subs! You deserve more subs for sure! Sorry for the long message! 🙃🙂😄
@@livelikeliz Definitely I found it very beautiful and i also found it interesting you mentioned living in the country removed your fomo( feeling of missing out) the countryside induces feelings of tranquility and contentment. Thanks for a great channel. Happy holidays
I think cottagecore and minimalism also both focus more on the experiences in life than the things. Even if something is purchased to suit a cottagecore aesthetic, it is often a purchase of something meaningful that evokes a sense of nostalgia or wistfulness and cozy joy and isn't just buying something for the sake of buying it. It is more thoughtfully done.
Liz, your 'authentic old farmhouse' is very much like mine, especially its kitchen, evocative of a different time except for a massive (propane) Lacanche stove I'd shipped over from France and ancient beams that came from a shipwrecked brigantine, likely hewn from masts. The farmhouse took us 10 years to renovate due to my medical work in the RN. Your video (as always) is enchanting as are your words inspirational because of your effortless eloquence. You are gifted with insight. 🌠 Cottagecore is _not always_ cozy. This vibe can be elusive when one has a full house of teenage girls!!! Thankfully, they cook and I come home to a clean and tidy home, happy faces and enjoy amazing food that is made with lots of love. Now _that_ is cottagecore! May our loving heavenly Father bless your New Year with wonderful things. Much love, Wendi 🌻🌻🌻
Okay, I'm officially envious you live in such a beautiful house! I'm only a guest here but would love to own a house like this someday! Coming home to a home-cooked meal from your girls sounds amazing and truly cottagecore! Thank you so much for your lovely words and support, Wendi! ❤️ Much love and all the best for 2023 to you and your girls ❤️
I completely agree with you. My cottage would not be instantly recognisable as minimalist but it does tick the minimalists boxes that everything in it is either practical or beautiful and most things tick both. Historically cottage dwellers would have been fairly poor and only have had what they really needed so they would have been quite simple spaces without excessive ornamentation.
For a very long long time I had no option on how I lived. I'm a mother of 4 and that is the best job I will ever have. However, coming from an old fashioned European background I was expected to be the perfect wife with the perfect, fanciest home. I was married very young and had children young. My ex was a monster and it took me an exhausting 16 years to escape from him. I was homeless with 4 children for nearly 2 years and then we were finally placed in government housing. Now, fast forward 13 years all my children are adults, 2 have mental health disorders, my youngest, nearly 20, has ASD, Tourettes selective mutism BPD OCD depression PTSD social anxiety and has made 10 attempts. I myself have extreme PTSD, agoraphobia etc etc and auto immune disorders another 2 diagnosed this year, this is all from extreme stress. It does wonders to your body. I haven't written this looking for sympathy, I've written this because sometimes the decision on how we live isn't up to us. Yes I've clawed my way back, purchasing my own home 5 years ago, in rural Australia. With my youngest daughter we have opened an Etsy store and Depop as going out and having "normal jobs" isn't possible. I don't really like people if I'm honest. We run a sanctuary and are practicing vegan Pagans. I can count my friends on one hand and our town has no infrastructure. It's a drive through town, with about 200 properties. I think the label Cottage core is a millennial term. Everything now, seems to need a label. What I think I'm trying to say is it doesn't matter what you have, how you look, dress, live. If you are a good person and do everything in your power to leave as little a footprint on our Mother Earth, then you are living the right way. If you have walls covered in artwork or bare walls it really doesn't matter. It's what you like and you can label your style however. I think living like this isn't minimalist it's simplistic. Thank you for another wonderful episode, love your new home. Blessed Be 😊 xx
Thank you so much for sharing your story, Liana! ❤️ I'm so sorry to hear you and your family had to go through this! I really admire your strength. You are very right - not everyone has an option to choose how they live and we should be grateful every single day if we do. I personally think we just need the labels so we have something to type into the search bar if we look for content on a lifestyle and for like-minded people. I completely agree that in the end it doesn't matter at all what you call your lifestyle or what your house looks like as long as we treat this Earth we've been given as our home with the respect she deserves. Sending much love and all the best to you and your family in this new year 2023 ❤️
Hi Liz I think you are right that the 2 styles go's hand in hand. And everyone can give it it's own turn. The place where you stay right now is old on the outside and new on the inside. My place is a more modern on the outside but inside i have some old stuff. I have a good amount off clothes because I make them myself but they will last fore years. I have some of them over 20 years and they still look good and neat and they still fit 🙂 love your video's and I will keep watching. Greetings 💟🌷🇾🇪
Thank you, Rita! ❤️ So happy to see you here again! Making your own high-quality clothes and wearing them for years and years is such a sustainable way of living - I love it! I'm actually currently working on a video about the whole topic of sustainable fashion 🙂
I couldn't agree with you more! Great video! Our goal is to be in the French countryside some day. I'm currently in Shanghai and finding a slower pace of life is achievable, just a little harder to get. =)
Calmer environs produce less violence too, b/c people living the fast life tend to be stressed, super sensitive and someone on the edge is ready to blow.
This area is really very safe and not dangerous at all. It's really just peaceful and quiet 😊 No need to be afraid here 😊 (Now that I think about it... the most realistic danger here would probably be coming across a wild boar brook with her babies in the forest...)
There might be some of that in next week's video 😎 I'm from Germany and also lived in New Zealand for a while, I have a strange mixture of accents 😂 Happy New Year! ✨
I do like the simplicity of simple living and down sizing what our wants and needs are. Stop keeping up with the Jones or the daily advertisement we are indicated with every day!

Less can often be more in decorative style. This farmhouse was sparsely and simply decorated yet so quaint , charming, uncluttered and peaceful.
Thank you so much, Fatima! It's beautiful, isn't it? I instantly fell in love with it as well! ❤️

95% of all people in history, lived on country farms. And now we can do better, and perhaps that is a better farm. ✌

In this video I see an old house sparsely filled with modern wares... it looks like it belongs in a modern house magazine.
But it lacks personality too sparse. I feel It needs a little more soul sprinkled in❤️
What would you add to the house? 😊 If I owned this property I would definitely add some personal touches as well 😊
