After seeing your review I purchased and installed a pair on my BMW R1300GS Adventure (2025). I also installed the brake light and routed switched power to my mobile phone and a second GPS. (2 CAN Smarts). You where 100% correct, it is very tight to find room for all this equipment. Looking forward to see when you guys do an installation movie. I am sure yours will look 10X better than mine.
Your genuine enthusiasm is brighter than the new D7 PRO! I'm going to study your set up like a freshman at an Ivy league college. I will buy from you just to brag that I bought from you. It's a bike thing! Outstanding content!!!!!
Love it! I am going to get a pair for my KOVE 450 Rally as soon as I can get the right fit and plan on some serious long distance Backcountry Discovery Route rides this coming season!
Hi Steve love the new D7Pro , I already have the emblems on my R1250GS running 10 percent DRL and 100 Percent for indicator via Hexcan using 2 Chanels , I presume the DRL Circuits I am using could have the DRLs on the D7 just added on giving 10 Percent DRL and 100 Percent indicator , and then add another hexane if needed to run the main led parts of the light , i may remove my TE spot lights and hang these their and I presume that would give another option to run part of the D7 via spot light feed , all looks exciting and I have registered for them when you have them . thanks for the great demo
Issue with the emblems and D7’s sharing an ezcan circuit is that the emblem has 2 wired technology whereas the Denali pods has 3 wired (PWM) technology. If you were to split the ezcan circuit to power both you’d have to programme the said circuit to be a 2 wired light which means the D7 Pro would not provide a stable light source at low intensity.
What would be perfect is to keep all pods exactly at the same position, it would help makes the difference between reach and flood effect between each models/setting (especially on the clip testing the D3 vs D4 and D7) but overall good review. I am still hesitating between a set of D7 pro and 2 sets of D3 (road + hybrid or road + fog...)
I preordered as soon as ABT put these online (0:17 GMT). This excellent video reassured me that I made the right decision. I'll be able to remove the stock lollipop turn signals off a 2023 Ducati Desert X and have one multifunction light that's protected inside my crash bar. Better day and night visibility is a very big bonus. Going with the same 3 circuit setup Steve used. It's great that a professional installer puts so much into videos for DIY'ers. Thank you and happy new year everybody.
Thanks for the order. Not sure which customer you are. We had a lot of sales come in around the same time ☺️ but we’ll keep in touch with you via email when we expect them to come in. Congrats on being one of the first
I am really in love with them I think you are doing great work effort. I cannot stopping watch your videos. Before order I would like understand how easy for drivers is managing modes of d7 pro. Thks!!!
Brilliant video Steve, I would be keen to see if you could do a setup and programming video for these D7Pros. Especially showing and explaining the 3 circuit method, this makes a lot of sense and is how I'd like to do it but with my limited electrical knowledge I am getting confused a little with regards what extra harnesses would be required. I've purchased 2 of your HEX Light Harness (#H1-EXT-001) today as I'm not sure what I'll need for my R1250GSA but I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually. Keep the great videos coming sir, many thanks 👍🏻 Damian
Always a pleasure to watch your videos and get loads and loads of knowledge & information. You really do your homework very very well, that is why you know your stuff inside out. I am keen on grabbing D7 Pros for my R 1250 GS (2022). However, I was curious as to how to connect to can bus. Since one circuit would be taken by sound bomb and three will be taken by D7 pros, but then I was thinking of brake lights as well. From your videos, I've learnt that we can daisy-chain (connect in series) the can buses. But I am yet to learn how to program the circuits of the second canbus. Will it still be programmable like the first one? as the second CANBUS will be using one of the circuits from the first CANBUS. Please bear with my lack of knowledge and stupid doubts and questions.
Loving it, Steve! Just need that GS1400 (GSA) to make me say goodbye to my current D7 setup. But time will come. Another excellent video; love to see your enthusiasm come through and it's great to see your partnership with Denali evolving, too. Keep up the good work and Happy New Year to you and The Team behind the screens!
Such a shame we have loads of stupid regulations in Spain so we won't be able to legally use them lights here. I am curious to know why denali have chosen a drl function over a flood one, I would have chosen some of the leds to mount a flood lens instead of an spot one so you actually have a dual function. That combined with the selective yellow would have been perfect
Yes a snap on filter but not a dedicated flood lens/projector. And like mamy others have mentioned no matter how powerful they are if the light pattern projected ain't good they are not really road friendly. You are really lucky in the UK as you don't have many restrictions on what you can do to your car/bikes.
amazing lights and video! I’ve got a D4 o my GS1250 and they stopped working yesterday. Do they have a relay or fuse? I’ve got them with cansmart 2 installed. And what should I buy to replace them and install the new D7 Pros on my bike? Shots I buy all the system again or I could use the installed cables and cansmart I already have? Thank you! Love your videos!
Hi Steve, you mention the pair should run thru 4 circuits in order to get the max benefit out of D7 Pros. Does that mean that we cannot connect another pair of lights (I.e.D2s) with all functions running? (Flashing, cancelling, etc). By the way even though you use 3 circuits? Thanks in advance. Hakan.
@@ABIKETHING Apologies I did skim through it, but I’m busy trying to get a video edited so didn’t have time to watch it in real time, so didn’t pick up on the indicator element. I got that the second circuit could be run as DRLs but wasn’t sure about them flashing in sync with the indicators. Cheers
I’d like to see better light cut off for these to be a one-solution for all. Zero point illuminating tops of trees. Some more precision in the beam would help, roads and tracks are only so wide, and for road use oncoming traffic is less likely to be blinded with a broad unfocused beam pattern (dimming them will still cause blinding). Unless you can demonstrate more definitively that the beams are indeed more conscientiously designed rather than using a shotgun-like approach
I’m assuming that these could also be mounted on a regular truck if so do they have extension cords or wires to span the distance? And will there little light control switch still function completely? I’m thinking a set of these on my truck as ditch lights would be tits.
Quick question buddy, is there any way to connect a pair of D4 to the Cansmart to function as DRL and also as turn signal? If yes, please tell me how! 🙏
Love it and really want a pair, any chance of a no Cansmart/EZcan option on the bundle for the 1250 GSA? I already have one with only 1 circuit in use.
If you have 3 spare circuits then all you need are 2 x D7 Pro lights and 4 single harnesses and a Y splitter to put the primary circuits on to one cansmart channel
I just got mine from Denali. I’d like to hook them up to my 1250GS using two circuits like you mentioned. I also got a CANsmart. Do you have a video installing this on a 1250?
I bought a pair of D7 Pro's ($800) and the BMW CANsmart ($285), so over $1085 with tax - and they won't work right. BMW dealer installed but they won't program them. I go to program and red circuit will not adjust anything for daytime, and both AUX1 and AUX 2 adjust the entire light for daytime under the nighttime sliders. One of the problems with the daytime and nighttime being inverted is that you can set light modulation up for daytime, but you cannot for nighttime - which means you actually get nighttime modulation when you don't want it, and can't get it during the daytime. Then I have issues with the circuits not responding properly for controlling a single light at a time, some of the circuits affect both sides even though I have them set up for left and right independently. Nearly $1100 for hardware and $1,300 for installation of a number of things (pair D7's, pair D3's for fog, Soundbomb horn, B6 brake light, 2 CANsmart, an Innovv K5 Drive Cam and a passenger arm rest bracket) and the D7 Pro's are the only thing that don't work correctly. I don't know if it's hardware, software, or installation issues; but suffice it to say the D7 Pro's are not worth the price when they don't work as advertised. I'm highly stressed at the waste of money and hope a conversation between Denali and the dealer can figure out what the problem is. If you're considering the D7 Pro's, I'd recommend waiting a few months for the early buyers to work out kinks and give the installers time to learn how to do it correctly.
Hello, I just want to clarify you didn’t buy these from us and if you had you would have contacted us directly as opposed to post this on our channel. I’ve read your post and with my experience of working with these lights I 100% know this is due to not knowing the product. I have spent a lot of time listing our D7 Pros on our bundle pages to ensure the buyer is equipped with the correct information regarding circuits and extra multi beam harnesses to achieve the desired result. I can’t support you on here via this platform but please feel free to contact our team via our contact page asking for help and we’ll see what we can do. It’s a shame you didn’t buy from us as we wouldn’t allow you to be left like this. The D7 Pro is a formidable light pod and when paired and programmed correctly it’s a winner. This is a classic case of you buying from the wrong dealer who has not done their homework on the product.
Grazie in anticipo.
Hi, i have a question. I'm thinking of buying a 2025 atas and put this exceptional denali D7 Pro whit the CANsmart controller. My question is, can i set 3 types of illumination. DRL with only center lights on, low beam with full light on (50% for example) and high beam with full light on (100%)?? Best regards
just bought a pair of D7 pros to replace my Baja designs XL 80 and Baja S2 sports that im running with an Ez Hex can on my tiger 900. since i'm mounting the lights quite high up near the turn indicators, I want the middle row to flash with the indicators. I'm suspecting that at night time the middle row will not be visible if the outer 4 LEDs are ON. to make this effective will i need to configure the outer 4 LEDs to switch off when the turn signal is active of flash inversely (disco) (since they are part of the same light). this means that I have to run all 4 channels independently. - is that right? also does this mean i have to use the middle row as DRL or can it flash even when off. Pity I cant reprogram the flashing with indicator on the go for times when I'm using the white filter. or is there? a white indicator wont make sense. Is it right that Im looking at a 4 channel configuration for what I want. or is there a way i can get away with 3 channels, would love to keep an extra channel for future stuff.
Hi brother, i got the 7 pro and denali 7 fogs here in india, do they shares the same wiring harness, since 7 pro has two wire splits, can u suggest me the extra things that neet to be added with wiring hanrness to use all the modes of 7 pro, from your video i got the idea of dial dim and extra split wire, i appreciate if i get a clear layout of the D7pro wiring thanks 😊

Hi, do you not think this is more of a question to send to us via our customer service contact page? Thanks for the detailed presentation Steve. Really looking forward to mounting this D7 Pro's on my new R1300GS, with the A Bike Thing mounting bracket, as soon as they are ready for the market. Amazing look and great light. 🤩🤩🤩 Happy New Year from Norway
Definitely. We have videos and listings on our website showing them . Check web listing here abikething.com/product/denali-d7-pro-bundle-gen-ii-r1300-gs/ and then check our other videos
For daily driving, the D7-PRO is unnecessary. The older D7 was already too powerful. This opinion is from other motorist safety point of view ( thanks to the dialdim, the light brightness is controllable). However, from the owner driver point of view, the D7, which is what I've got, great confidence during night driving. I'm sure the D7-PRO is definitely an improvement on the D7 but since the D7 does the job very well even here in Africa, and also in consideration of other road user safety, I'll still say D7-PRO is unnecessary.
I hope Denali makes a mounting bracket that lets you mount the light high, not below the headlight or inside the cowling on the 2024 R1300GS. Here's why: using the D7's as DRL's, you won't be seen in the side mirrors of a car if you are near their blind spots...lights should be mounted at the same level as car side mirrors. I have proven this many times.
@@ABIKETHING No motor vehicle is allowed to have lights the same level as side mirrors. It blinds the car driver where the mirror will reflect light intensity into the face of the driver. Its like an American police having his hand held spotlight on your face while you're doing 70mph. That's dangerous.
It isn't illegal here in New Hampshire, USA at mirror height, however it is illegal to have lights that are too powerful. Its better to have floods for anti collision lights, rather than spotlights. @@expatbiker6598

Spero che dopo l’acquisto non ottengo lo stesso trattamento. Grazie in anticipo.
Grazie per la mancata risposta. Segno distintivo di serietà 😅
Good morning, Steve and the members of A BIKE THING support team 😊
I have now got/purchased most of the bits needed to finally Install all of my Denali gear onto my 2020 R1250GS Adventure.
2 x D7 Pro
2 x Denali Cansmart Controller
2 x Male to Female extension leads
1 x Y Splitter
2 x D4 Hybrid
1 x B6 Brake Light
1 x Denali Soundbomb
Multitude of mounts and bracket
Having watched your video (countless times) I am hoping I can get the Controller programming set up the way you are describing.
The bit that is throwing me is the Ampage to run the Pair of D7's on one circuit. Would I be right in saying that I should set the Amps to 20 Amps (as the D7 Pro pods are 8amps each)?
How I am assuming to set it up would be like this, can you advise if this looks right, please 🙏🏻
Denali Cansmart Controller #1

Denali Cansmart Controller #2

Hi, do you not think this is more of a question to send to us via our customer service contact page? We get dozens of emails like this every day from customers all over the world but TH-cam is NOT the friendliest portal/platform for a business to manage their customers enquires. Please email us and one of the team will get back to you.
@ABIKETHING Apologies, I did not mean to offend in any way.
I have tried to find the answers to this watching and re watching all your videos, I can't get enough of them, thank you.
But couldnt find anything definitive.
I did end up doing exactly as you mentioned, yesterday, I believe but thought I would post up here in case my reconning was correct and it could help others who were trying to install "DUAL CANSMARTS".
Once again, please accept my apologies if I've crossed any line by posting my message.
Keep the great content coming 🙏🏻
@@DBOLT666 not offence caused at all. Sorry if I have that impression. We are used to reading huge in depth emails like this every day but just can’t do it with fat thumbs on my phone which is how I view TH-cam during social hours.
Denali is trying to compete with
Baja Design LP9 LP6 lights
Which has 200 degree peripheral lighting and back lighting which are which the pro baja 1000 racers use
Baja Design uses sealed connectors
@ 11:08 what’s the Gloucester rugby head coach George Skivington doing in your workshop?
Good afternoon sir gusto ko mabahagian ng memorandum tungkol sa auxiliary lights thank you sir for the kindness and helpfulness again thank you very much TOMMY Q ESTRADA
I want to install the D7 Pro on the original crash bar on BMW 1300 gs, is it possible? thanks
Thanks for the detailed presentation Steve.
Really looking forward to mounting this D7 Pro's on my new R1300GS, with the A Bike Thing mounting bracket, as soon as they are ready for the market.
Amazing look and great light.
🤩🤩🤩
Happy New Year from Norway
Yup, I want these now. Dammit Steve, I thought my bike had everything on it I could possibly want.
Could the d7 pros be used as a low beam assist, or would they blind oncoming drivers too much?
I think the 2nd circuit (centre 3 leds) at 10% is perfect for low beam assist
Thank you 👍

Do yall have a wire kit for indian chieftain?
The amber lens should have been designed to fit inside the lens instead of being attached outside.
I reckon that would impact the waterproofing
@@danieljk826it would have just been a thin piece of color like his mirror guard inside.
how many Can smarts are you using on the D7 pro ?
Just the one
Will the d7pro work on the cansmart for the r1250gsa?
Yes definitely
Denali products are very expensive, can you also test hella products?
Greetings from Turkey
Do you think these will fit on an R1300?
Definitely. We have videos and listings on our website showing them . Check web listing here abikething.com/product/denali-d7-pro-bundle-gen-ii-r1300-gs/ and then check our other videos
I noticed i haven't been getting any ad's During my My israel news sessions from TBN & ILTV. "Shame On Google if they Have demonetized Israel".
Dont hold your breathe thinking your going actually get a pair of these lights i been waiting for months now
For daily driving, the D7-PRO is unnecessary. The older D7 was already too powerful. This opinion is from other motorist safety point of view ( thanks to the dialdim, the light brightness is controllable). However, from the owner driver point of view, the D7, which is what I've got, great confidence during night driving. I'm sure the D7-PRO is definitely an improvement on the D7 but since the D7 does the job very well even here in Africa, and also in consideration of other road user safety, I'll still say D7-PRO is unnecessary.
any E marking for safe travel to Europe??
Yes the lens has an E marking
❤❤❤🔥🔥
So have you actually mounted some D7's to an R1300 yet? The picture you have is photoshopped right?
Without mounting them on crash bars I mean.
Yes. Our social media sites like TikTok, Instagram are very current showing latest updates. TH-cam always follows weeks later due to editing etc
@@ABIKETHING looks great. I'm having them!
Size of dinner plates though
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I hope Denali makes a mounting bracket that lets you mount the light high, not below the headlight or inside the cowling on the 2024 R1300GS. Here's why: using the D7's as DRL's, you won't be seen in the side mirrors of a car if you are near their blind spots...lights should be mounted at the same level as car side mirrors. I have proven this many times.
Interesting feedback. A balance of form and function.
@@ABIKETHING
No motor vehicle is allowed to have lights the same level as side mirrors. It blinds the car driver where the mirror will reflect light intensity into the face of the driver. Its like an American police having his hand held spotlight on your face while you're doing 70mph. That's dangerous.
If you have a GSA, touratech makes an awesome bull bar!
It isn't illegal here in New Hampshire, USA at mirror height, however it is illegal to have lights that are too powerful. Its better to have floods for anti collision lights, rather than spotlights. @@expatbiker6598
Hello, when will you translate into Spanish? 😢😂 Happy new year!!🎉
Click on Subtitles. Doesn't it translate for you?
@@ABIKETHINGthanks I didn't know they were already available for phones😅
Denali is wiping the arse of Clearwater and mopping up market share like crazy
Curious if you have ever seen the Ruby lights Steve?
I have. Look nice but not had the opportunity to test.
