Welcome back guys, in todays video we focus on the shower and what needs to happen to ensure it doesn't leak. It's something I don't see being done enough by van builders and is an absolute must. Been looking for a van to do a conversion for 8 months now....yes I know but needs to be the right one!!😉😆 So glad I've waited though as this is by far the best build series I've seen so far👌.....and I've seen hundreds!!🤦

Fantastic conversion but is an oven really required in such a small van ?? Not really having all the family round for Sunday lunch !! Air Fryer/Clever Chef/Slow Cooker plus outdoor BBQ will be enough for camper van IMO !! Just an opinion your build is FAB !!!!
Hi David, if it were my van I would have just gone with an air fryer and bbq but got to cater for the wider audience. Better to have it and not need it 👍🏻

@@VanologyConversions this is the difference between doing a bespoke or doing what YOU like or think is a good idea ... I would go with airfryer and a portable gas ring for a ridge monkey - but hey, you can't please all people all the time ...
We have a van conversion with no oven and if i bought another i would want a oven.
Lovely build! What size shower tray did you use? We're building a shower/toilet room and are wondering what size tray to use. Not sure if 70x70 would be too small.

Hi mate yes this one is a 700 x 700 tray but I do prefer an 800 x 700 if the width allows 🚿🚐
Your doing a fab job stu , your going to well in your new business, your crafter u built was amazing, and this build it's not lacking in build quality, your as good as the likes of vanworx. .

Are you going to register with the DVLA? To motor caravan I don’t mind five years ago and it is well hard now they are coming back van with windows 👍

Great work, yeah tambour door might be expensive but would look nice, I’d do everything possible to avoid a shower curtain. Are you just sitting a porta potty on the shower tray? Did I miss that bit?
I really like the tambour door but we are trying to keep the build below £25k and that was before a shower and hot water system was added 🤪 yes I’m putting a porta potti in 👍🏻

It,s looking good and although you say this is a budget priced van there.s nothing budget on quality and quality fittings thats going in and not many builders would pre-empt any upgrades in the future by adding cables etc to make things easy. Vanmazing !!

Personally, I prefer a solid door on the bathroom. It suppresses some of the noises.

Yea that’s what I thought 🤣 luckily not once I’m 1cm shorter than the door so no skipping in that area 😂
Looking good 👍🏻 Love the finish you are doing with that furniture board & edging, so much better than all that tongue & groove stuff like LiamTheTerrible is knocking out, that just look like sheds on wheels, you need to get away completely from tongue & groove entirely for a really pro look.

@@VanologyConversions agree - and with the comment above. Personally I don't really like LTT's look, except for the ceiling ... which is ok but I still hate the black carpet 😏

We use a 4000k led light strip from CEF currently working our way through our last 50m roll before we switch over to cob lights ⚡️🚐

Every time I watch a video of a van conversion I end up frustrated at the approach and work quality, that was until now: you are building a real quality conversion, not cutting any corners, fabulous workmanship. We have owned A class motorhomes from big name manufactures for 30+ years and your quality of finish, plus what is hidden, is as good as any. If we were shopping for a PVC I’d be knocking on your door. Thank you for showing how it can be done.

My son is in his first year at college doing carpentry, so glad he’s picked that trade. Love the tips for the shower, our shower was leaking and has been ripped out, im now going to show the video to my other half to get it water tight. Lovely job.

Where do you buy your plywood? Always looks very good quality
I use Morland in Welshpool, to be fair in all my years of carpentry it’s the nicest I’ve ever worked with 👊🏻

If I were you stu I would stay away from supplying the van and concentrate on converting owners vans ,when buying in a van you could get stung with possible repair bills to engine ,clutch,gearbox,& the dreaded management faults,which would push the end price up,just a thought,from a 30 year plus mechanic.👏👏👏👏🏴✊
Thanks mate appreciate it, this van will come with a third party 12 month mechanical warranty and I of course will warrant my own work 👍🏻 someone else brought it to my attention and thought yea that needs taking care of. Next van I do is a customers van

Great job your doing. Could you be making templates of each cut you do and keep them together for each type of van. Saves having to re scribe and re measure for the next build? You could do a build in half the time. Love the detail you go to.

Why not Acrylic sheeting in the shower room?
I’ve done the acrylic sheets in the last two vans and I wasn’t that impressed with it to be honest want to try something different. It’s also nearly impossible to properly tank the room if using a shower tray and not a former tray 👍🏻

Awesome work certainly cracking on with it, any link for the coin matting and how did you lay it in the end, glue/staples/loose?

To be fair it’s only down with spray adhesive so could easily be taken out in one piece 👍🏻

1. If you box the wheel arches what would be the dimensions of them?
2. Whats the height of your garage space?

Thanks mate and good luck with your build 👍🏻 wheel dimensions are roughly 600 wide by 300 high (I’m in bed and ain’t going out to measure lol) and the garage space is 750mm high by 1800 wide by 1400 deep 👍🏻

What do you use on your wheel arches ?
On the wheel arches I treat, insulated with two layers of 8mm dodo matting and then carpeted them on this one 👍🏻
@@VanologyConversions Iv put dodo 7mm thermo liner on one today and looks crap because it’s pieced so thinking the carpet will look rubbish over it. It’s been playing on my mind all day 😂😂🤣🤣 going rip it off tomorrow. I take it you use the roll and not the sheets?
Yes I used the roll and made sure no overlapping. Was fiddly but got there in the end 👍🏻
