Hello Randy, I'm a huge fan of your channel. Can I ask for your permission to reupload (repost) your videos to a Chinese video platform called Bilibili? Since TH-cam is banned in China, it is quite hard for people to watch TH-cam (using VPN), not to mention that a lot of Chinese people cannot speak fluent English. I will add CN subtitles, and make sure to ALWAYS include your channel's name, video link, and credit you as the original author in the video description. Anyway, I'm looking forward to your new videos and have a good day! Thank you
Everyone was perfect for the character except for Kaya. She has a strong face and she looks like a tough person. Whilst Kaya has a fragile beauty, she's very soft. In anyways I'm fine with her. I just hoped they could've find someone who's more suitable for the role.
Maybe this is totally unimportant to you and other, but for me it makes me smikle. When english languaje media covers things that are in spanish, they tend to pronounce bad spanish names. I love wrestling but a pet peeve i have is when presenters and commentaros dont mind speaking bad nakes like "El hijo del Fantasma" or "El Ligero" making it sound in spanish like jibberish or other words, while they alsways say "sorry of i butcher the name" of japanese when they spak them perfectly. Seeing you correctly say Iñaki's name, knowing that his name has the "ñ", which is nonexistant in english, made me have a little smile.
There's a lot of people complaining about Chioma Umeala, i personally don't see it like something bad tbh, i get mad when a character gets changed unnecessarily and just because the stupid tendencies, but in this case the change can be a plus. The ethnicity difference between the two actresses can reinforce the fact of Nami and Nojiko being adoptive sisters, making it more memorable. Also the ethnicity of Nojiko is not an important point for the character, and everything doesn't have to be exactly like the original show, it's an ADAPTATION after all, i mean, Nick fury was originally white, and i don't see a bunch of people complaining about Samuel L Jacksons interpretation. The people just started hating every small change in adaptations because “notice me, I'm a true fan, i deserve attention” it's ok to complain in extreme cases like death note, but currently the people just hate for hating.
😂 nick fury was designed to be Sam Jackson. He’s a complete new character from the white one they literally only share the name. No this shit is big cringe but it’s a minor character that could be pretty much cut and the story would be nearly the same. Just don’t ruin actual one piece characters doing this lame stuff
I love the cast so far, I forget names of the actors, but I just wonder about nojiko. I’m aware they are adopted sisters and they weren’t exactly the same skin tone in the show anyhow, but Netflix is notorious for trying to become “inclusive” which does end up with a lot of retaliation or complaints from fans of certain shows. Obviously, so far, everyone seems to be fit well but I just wonder if that is oda’s choice or if Netflix took over that. If Netflix took over that, how much more are they going to take over? I trust Oda and it is his world and his vision, my concern is I don’t want Netflix butting in. Randy, what’s your thoughts on that?
I would say the casting was chosen because of their abilities as actors, races and other qualities are secondary. Especially a live action series, if you follow the anime to the tee, you will get lousy and cringe actor. The most important in casting people is about their abilities to bring that character to life, not just becoming them. Like when you see how they act, you can see the character in them.
I saw from the still shot she had a similar expression and “presence”, so I’m not as worried as making all the fish-men black (because that’s too obvious a parallel to real life and Oda shows subtlety ) In the live clip, I got some doubts because Nojiko seemed to be more stoic than emotional so let’s see how she plays the character…
If it was netflix trying to take over we would have seen way more race swapping than just one. Netflix could have even cast all the fishman as black actors but as we have seen not all of them will be. The next season has a character that looks to be non binary and a place that would be like the middle east and Egypt so I don't see them butting in like they would normally for other live actions.
@@Ilovegrunge123 That’s good! And I had wondered how they would do that about the Alabasta arc if they make a season 2. It does seem to be an Egypt kind of country so I hope they do something with that. Vivi does have lighter skin but for her country, it wouldn’t make any sense to have a white personality there. And as for Bon Clay, they will have to be careful on how they portray him. Although his character is, well, flamboyant, among other things, translating to live action something like that is going to be hard. Because, although they say things need to be more inclusive, it never works in their favor. Everything that goes woke goes broke. So I’m curious how they would be able to do that character to keep him Bon Clay, not changing who his is, but making it adapt well so it’s not weird or anything.
@@NoOneYouKnow274 I actually think Bon Clay is pretty tame compared to how they portray the other Okamas in one piece so for that character I see small changes compared to when they get to Okama island. My problem is that alot of the casting are old people .There production will most likely last for 10+ years. These people will be old as hell and might not be able to pull it of later, OP has alot of physical old people. Would be better to cast slighty younger and make them look older.
They are adopted sisters, there is no problem at all for the difference. They were depicted as war orphan and Nojiko was already walking and talking while Nami was a baby. It just fits. Reminder that they are actually not the same age, Nojiko is older.

I only for the main cast but then again even if this goes 10 years it'll be fine it'll look natural like they've been adventuring irl
I swear when you look at Shanks's actor and Mihawk's actor, they really do have the friendly-rival chemistry.
I’m loving the casting of Nojiko. Adding the theme of transracial adoption, a very realistic topic, to Nami’s story is a great choice in my opinion.
Ward looks so much like Mihawk. bruh.
nojiko is fine in either race, but her having an accent while emily rudd speaks fluid english feels kinda amature to me.
They are adopted sisters, there is no problem at all for the difference. They were depicted as war orphan and Nojiko was already walking and talking while Nami was a baby. It just fits. Reminder that they are actually not the same age, Nojiko is older.
