Mike, don't forget last February, the Deep Freeze in Texas that froze the state, bursting water pipes, no power for weeks with Cancun Cruz trip to Mexico to support his fellow Texans.
This is only going to get exponentially worse, with the population of earth heading toward 8 billion.
It may by too late for us earthlings or most earthlings as the Netherlands and coastal cities around the planet will disappear.
Forget Venice, that will soon be underwater.

My theory: The areas that had severe flooding are older neighborhoods and rural...not modern storm drain set up, and homes built on lower ground.
I'm in west Fort Worth and my area didn't have deep water...only if your next to Trinity River or more low areas.

I live in Irving, on the edge close to Dallas, trinity river is a mile behind my yard.. no flooding, home built in 1950, granted we have great sloping on our property. A lot of the flooding occurred in new developments where everything is flat. We desperately needed the rain and now everything is lush again

We have potholes that can almost swallow a car; don't want to step into one unaware. We have water moccasins, not known for an easy and forgiving nature. Flash floods appear suddenly, and carry all kinds of debris that settles to the bottom. Also have snapping turtles, but at least they don't usually make headlines in this kind of weather; still, better safe than sorry. Of course, I see muddy water I think disease and impossible laundry. But there's more, so much more.
