- I started wearing barefoot shoes in 2020. I haven’t looked back since. I go over my top 3 minimalistic shoe brands. Vivobarefoot | Lems Shoes | Whitin

Love seeing what other barefoot shoes people like. So far I have Xero Prio’s (great trainers that I actually use for tennis now too), Lem’s drifters (great slip on casual shoe) and Whitins (my first pair that I don’t wear as much now but still like them)! Probably will look to get Lem’s boulder boots at some point! Great video
Thanks! I have another video lined up. I tried another brand and they are not as mainstream as the ones I mentioned
I have vivobarefoot, lems boulder in leather, whitin, and just got in a pair of wildling. I highly recommend the wildling. The only problem I have trying to go full time barefoot is work. We have boot requirements that no barefoot boots can meet…
@@balbibou they have to have 8” shaft, puncture resistant, electric shock proof, water proof, and a defined heel.
@@balbibou lems boulder in leather with mink oil or waterproofing works well. As far as temp wise I use merino wool socks.
So, im a farm worker and I have been wearing barefoot shoes for 2 years now and I agree with everything you said. I spend most of my time in dirt, gravel and grass. What I notice is it sucks going to town and spending a day on concert or asphalt. My feet ache after spending a day walking on hard surfaces.
I am spreading my feet out as you talk about it. I got Whitens a couple weeks ago(oh cool I got those tan ones), but I started full blown barefoot the 2nd or 3rd week of Oct/22. You learn a lot about yourself I tell you what! My right side is so tight/ weaker. I fractured my right knee cap back in 2012 and I have been babying that side for years. My left big toe can spread out and I can move it from left to right, but the right foot is just still asleep. It has been waking up, but its taking a bit of time. Buts its only been less than a month so, yeah. I am not looking back.
Awesome! Your feet will hurt once you try to slip on a regular sneaker/shoe after wearing barefoot shoes for over a year.
Tip: If you need a foot shaped shoe with natural toe space but WITH cushioning, then have a look at Altra. Kinda the best of both worlds.
Great video!!
Bearfoot Ursus man i love them .. I wannna try splays
Over 3650 days in Vibram FiveFingers here! I have no shame. 😆
FiveFingers are the best! Far wider than Vivos or Lems.
I hated five finger shoes when I first saw them. I thought they were a ridiculous fad for attention seeking morons; and couldn't wait for it to pass. Now, after years of wearing barefoot shoes, I think I'm ready to try them. Just ordered my first pair.
Would putting a heel insert in these types of shoes be doable? From time to time my Plantar Fasciitis acts up and I get real bad heel pain if I don’t wear supported footwear.
Lems has more cushion than vivobarefoot. I’d definitely look into them.
Altra Lone Peak has good cushion but still zero drop and no arch support. Good transition shoe.
Bought some Vivo Primus Lites as my first pair and had some rough weeks heel-wise. Got better (heels fine now, they will harden and get used to it!), bought the Tracker FG 2’s for hiking in winter. Those have this feel ground sole which is basically a flexible sole but with lugs on them for grip. These lugs are about 4mm and when walking in them they felt waaaaay more cushioned than my Primus Lite’s, even though it’s still a barefoot shoe. Soooo, my point is when buying your first Vivos l, maybe consider buying a shoe from their Trail/Hike line that has lugs. It will be softer on the heels and maybe make transitioning to barefoot style footwear easier!
Freet shoes come with removable insoles which is nice if you are transitioning.
I developed plantar fasciitis in the arch from walking around Manhattan 2-3 hours every day after work in restrictive office shoes. Wearing Vibram Five Fingers on weekends fixed it in less than 2 months. Maybe barefoot shoes will fix the issue for you as well.
If you're on the half size part what size do you recommend on the barefoot shoes size because I can't seem to find half size on the vivo ones I'm 10.5 us should I go one size up or down ?
I’d probably go a half size down.
Being a barefoot shoes there’s already tons of room to begin with.
@@daviddelahoya151 So I recently went to their webpage and tried their sizing method the one you can upload your foot and they will calculate which size it's good for you and I got a result in the first time a size down but the second time a size up so I got confused but I believe I should go a size up because I got a more of a wide feet rather than a narrow one .
@@CosmicawarenessCitizen I am a half size too. Order half size up.
@@0xdef yeah that is good I got my pair of 11 us and they fit great , unless you want to wear them without any socks they will feel roomy.
nice
Hello. Did you get the same size as the Vivos on the Whittins? How do they fit? I wanna get some but can't find a size guide anywhere.
Vivos and Whitins are true to size. I went a half size up on my whitins, but I honestly should’ve stayed on my true size. Lems is the only brand out of the group that recommends to go half a size up.
