This is building on the previous "big" questions. Vorlons: Who are you? Shadows: What do you want? Lorien: Why are you here? Lorien: Where are you going? The new ones are: Who do you serve, and who do you trust?
If I'm not mistaken, _Trace_ was pushed by the studio, just like Robert Rusler as _Lt. Warren Keffer_ on *B5.* Looking forward to more reactions.😊 Like others, I dislike the score. JMS defended it to the end. I can't know for sure, but I always felt he simply couldn't admit it didn't work most of the time.
I think the score is okay. Chen doesn't hit the mark well in action sequences, at least doesn't do what we expect, but the grace notes and decoration work really well. I like the Excalibur "theme" for example. When he's doing "this bit is mysterious and eerie", Chen works well. I fully suspect had he continued he would have improved. A lot of Franke's earlier music leaves something to be desired - a lot of big crashes heading into commercial breaks, for example, and a lot that still sounds very Tangerine Dream.
Crusade is a frustrating experience because of what it could've been. When you finish Crusade, try and find the scripts that were due to be filmed next because they could've been so good.
Sadly we didn't get more. I read 3 unproduced scripts that were to follow, and the show was about to become something completely different. Radically so.
The crew is ok. Even the special effects (for the time) are mostly ok. Most episodes are interesting to watch even on a rewatch. I just cant stand the score. It's horrible. They say they tried something different. Well they failed with that. Every time the music starts i cringe and skip ahead.
We have a Fighter, a Healer, a Magic-User, and a Thief: the core crew is assembled.

And more importantly, "where are my keys?"
@@miller-joel that would've been season 2, then season 3 would've been 'what's for dinner?' 😅
"Its A Bold Strategy Captain, Lets See If It Pays Off For Em"
Unfortunately, TV Execs happened....
I love Crusade. Sad that it was cut short, but I'm glad we got what we did. ❤🧡💛💚💙💜

Personally, I really like the music. It's definitely a "to each their own" situation. ❤🧡💛💚💙💜

now that you've finished S5 of B5 you might enjoy watching others react to B5,
I recommend R Knights channel.
There's a channel called Marie-Claire's World that's starting B5 season 1 in January

Crusade is weird.
