Very well articulated; I wish I had more time for trial and error, but I'll be 56 in October and I need ideas and advice on what investments to make to set myself up for retirement, especially with the looming inflation and recession; my goal is to have a portfolio of at least $500k at the age of 60.

I REALLY need to make this money work for me, and not just disappear over time. I've been scrambling for somewhere to put the money, where I can make an effort to use the gains to pay bills so I can quit my job or should force early retirement. All roads have pointed to the financial market of some sort which is a good idea buh where else should I put money besides the financial market? We have a 13% RPI rate so cash is tough.

Yep great question and that’s always the one - where would you rather be if you have an option. Personally I’m always invested aside from a small emergency fund. Financial-market for me seem the only way forward with my long time horizon (accrued almost $1.4m in gains since 2020 ) but if you don’t have that fortune of time it’s a tough market out there almost nowhere feels safe! . Just know the risk you're comfortable with . Mistake is expensive

I fully agree; I'm 60 years old and recently retired with approximately 1.2 million in outside retirement funds, no debt, and very few dollars in retirement funds in comparison to my portfolio balance over the last three years. To be honest, the financial advisor's role can only be ignored, not dismissed. Therefore do your research to get a reputable one.

The problem is that I've been holding a lot of stocks in the hope of selling them for a profit this month, but I'm not sure if to keep holding or sell because I've been operating at a loss since Q2 and 2023 is really not looking good for investors. Typically during this time of the year, we get to see certain stocks go up in the market, but that's very unlikely this season due to the recession and overall economic crisis.

We’ll be seeing the market plummet further, so I advise you do critical analysis on these companies you’re holding and their data projections in the next fews years. Even better, you could have an investment adviser guide you restructure your overall portfolio and offset the bad apples you’re holding, that strategy’s been working for me so far, saves me a whole lot of stress and continuous anxiety and also it’s very time efficient.

I think productivity is the way out. For too long society has looked for easy money in speculation on stocks and commodities. Even oil, gold, silver real estate and crypto currencies have their prices rise and fall based on rumours, gossip and regulatory manipulations.
But to have a skill is most durable asset and therefore is priceless.
Plant a garden, open a home industry like a bakery, restore and repurpose bespoke furniture. Use your hands to skip the system fallout on the horizon.

Inflation does have a roll, but that's to keep everyone panicked, and focused on their bills and expenses, rather than focus on the capital crimes of politicians and corporations,I'm still at a crossroads deciding if to liquidate my $338k stock portfolio, what’s the best way to take advantage of this bear market??

I am not sure about investing a lot in oil....considering that gas cars are being phased out. Or in property or land....taxes may become exorbitant. Maybe a modest house or small piece of land that is debt free or as debt free as possible and with multiple people living together to help defray expenses, makes sense. I liked the advice, "Plant a garden". And I would add to make sure that you have a pollinator friendly garden, with plenty of nectar and pollen producing trees, shrubs free of pesticides and herbicides. That is to support beneficial insects that are pollinators and the beneficial insects that combat pest insects. But I would also stock you garden with food producing plants that do not rely on pollinating insects..ie wind pollinated plants, plants that rely on rhizomes or top sets

A perspretive to consider in this statment about gardens, food and forests or trees is that this scope of work and what comes of it relates to some very fundamental ways in which humans stabilize, provide sufficient resource locally and can literally grow a sense of confidence moving forward while also enhancing immediate community.

You cleared it up by pointing out that the money does not get distributed evenly. The ric h get low
interest loans and buy stocks, big houses, commercial RE and trophy assets, not extra groceries.
The small items shot up because of Stimulus Checks, unemployment prizes, etc.

Great time listening. He made me realize so much. The yuan is a closed currency. It will not be traded openly anytime soon. Why? This'll cause an outward gush of wealth causing everything Chinese to crash, including the markets & currency. That is why a BRICS currency is unlikely anytime soon. BRICS countries are also still developing. There is no solid foundation to build on yet. -- Transfer of wealth is beginning now in Florida. Who is going to buy all this debt, all this failed farmland, and failed businesses? Is there going to be a bailout? Will all this physical wealth be liquidated? Although politicians don't know how to balance a budget, they do know how not balancing creates/distribute wealth in a way that benefits them & big business. The question to all this, where's the exit for the little guy. Or perhaps it is opportunity. How can we provide the little guy access?

So if the Fed's only create 30percent of currency and banks create the rest, with all loans by banks use created currency that didn't exist before you applied for the loan, then all loan contracts would be void as the banks don't put anything of value or consideration up. Which is part of contract law. Making foreclosure and repossession of security felony theft. People your labor, creativity, and sweat is the only value that this whole system depends on. You are the credit, that the bankers steal from in the form of interest. Every piece of currency ever printed in existence is owed to the bankers in interest. BRIC currency coming out of nowhere is what someone trying to scare you says. They've been running that system for 25 years and no effect on the currency because they can't run the deficits.
Yes you have to have the deficits to deliver the the currency needed for it to be a supply and become a reserve currency. They don't even have a BRIC currency yet. And when Russia starts dumping currency in the market the other letters will stop it or dump more and lower the value. No one will have a reserve currency that depends on multiple government.

For 24 years working hard as a school teacher for my salary, sometimes I would rush to the grocery store in the middle of the day to buy snacks for my kids or for the next teacher meeting and notice more and more unemployed people shopping with EBT cards.
Then, when I resigned and was in the process of relocating, I noticed many illegals and unemployed in line being approved for health and dental coverage, yet I resign and was not able to receive health support. Even though I paid my taxes (30% for 24 years), I was not able to receive any support. It was difficult to see many unemployed people getting approved, knowing it was my 25 years of paying taxes that is used to help them, yet I had to borrow money from my dad and brother to buy my food, pay for car insurance and I lived without welfare, EBT, and health insurance. You have to be fired or laid off to receive unemployment. However, being fired and laid off can make it difficult to get the next job. That's why I resigned.
Too many people in the US are receiving food, shelter, clothing, and insurance free, without working. The system is made to earn more things from not working. Anyone who receives Federal and State benefits should show some form of contributing back to society. Our system is designed to keep most people unmotivated to give back. Make less than $1,300 a month to get EBT (food card) and medical. Make money "under the table" or illegally and not pay taxes to keep to food card. The more low income people receive, the more they rely on the government and never learn how to work for their money and ,the easier leaders can control the mass.
I finally retired and am taking care of my parents. I worked hard, paid for many non-working people to not work and get free food, shelter, and clothing. I now have to get a part-time job to pay for my health insurance ($1,000 a month). This is the reward I receive in the society I have been born in and have lived in these past 57 years.
My parents had it the best in the US. In the 1960's, mom was able to stay home and care for us. Dad was able to buy a house, one car, one tv, in a middle class neighborhood, good school, great neighbors. The "American dream" is a cycle that has ended. I still believe capitalism can be a good system. It has the most freedom to grow spiritually and intellectually, but has it's many imperfections as well. That imperfection is the human condition that began when Adam and Eve chose their way instead of God's (Yahweh, the Great Creator). I hope we learn from this and improve our ways.

21:10 Why do the “owners of bonds get crushed in a deflationary environment”? I would expect just the opposite. I buy long term bonds yielding 5%, inflation goes down to 1% or even negative, and I sell the bonds for a lot more than I paid for them. Right ?

I think the wealth transfer already happened. People that already owned real estate before the pandemic are sitting on a low fixed mortgage in a high interest rate environment with high inflation. Meanwhile, people that do not own are facing higher prices and higher interest rates

I'm listening to the part when he talks about the Weimar Republic and how people had to transfer their wealth to hard tangible assets like land, factories, etc. Then he says that "if your wealth is all something you can see in a computer screen, it's exposed". While his description of the problem seems to be exact, the solution he is hinting is flawed. I am Venezuelan who lived through the hyperinflation of 2017-2019, which stopped when the government freed up currency exchange controls. Putting your wealth in land or hard assets that can be confiscated away in a socialist country is NOT a good idea. Most people took refuge in the dollar, and that's how things stabilized until today.
But when the US gets Venezuelanized, where will americans put their wealth? in hard tangible assets that are easy confiscateable and taxed away? In the dollar? A little bit of digging deeper into what bitcoin is, will lead one to the same conclusion Michael Saylor came to: Bitcoin is the world's only pristine asset that has a chance of surviving this mess.

😂😂😂😂😂😂 they cost less than gas cars already and they're still dropping in price. The biggest arbitration right now is using the mileage deduction on an electric car. When the IRS starts putting electric car costs in the mileage deduction ICE will evaporate. Unions are holding it back now.

Methods of transfer: taxes, debt and debt payments, interest, rents, inflation, more debt, rules & regulations, costs of higher education, big pharma, big medical, MIC, banks. Mostly the banks. War & plandemics - both create big spending leading to big debt. Banks love debts. Control the debt, you control the nation.

50:40 Chris said productive real estate. Homes as an asset WILL crash. The rents landlords collect will crash, but in depression any money is worth something. In Inflationary crack up booms that rental income WON’T keep up with inflation, but outpace those who are not collecting it.

But all the banks changed their entity once you do that every contract is null and void. You can look up the research for South in order for the contract to stick it would have to be done through a court of law and everybody would be notified you just don't hand over a promissory note to anybody. And Fiat money is valuable it is a promissory note and the banks backed it. The best investment right now is treasuries. What a great way to invest your money in your own country.
