    Great explainer - we are on a big cattle farm in QLD where it is super hot and have invasive weeds in the garden bed. This tool works much better when you know how to use it - thanks!

    I have the same product. It’s great for pulling up weeds. And then putting down some fertiliser and watering it in with a Hozelock oscillating sprinkler to kill off the weeds and moss and prevent them from coming back helps a lot. I use Miracle Gro - EverGreen Complete 4 in 1, using that product twice during spring and summer and an autumn version in November. You must be proud of yourself though, look how far you’ve progressed on TH-cam. From 211 subscribers to 5,049. Well done.

      I'm now trying out the Spear and Jackson weed puller which has a metal foot because a Fiskars plastic one broke... Hope to get a video up soon!

      @@DADDELIVERS Thank you for writing me - actually when I went to pick up the weed killer the lady's lawn was so beautiful, lush and green and no weeds - she was selling it because they had hired a professional company to do their lawn and no longer needed it - works for me, my gain - have a Blessed Day

    This is a great tool, but it's important to REMOVE your foot from the pedal when you pull, as the mfr says. Otherwise it can break off.

    Plastic foot pedal is a weak link, mine eventually snapped, might be ok for an aul lady pulling the odd daisy on a Sunday morning

    Mine does pull out the weed root but tends to leave a massive hole as lots of soil comes up too. I would be fine if I wanted to play golf.

    It needs a modification on the front tooth. As it gets used the Plastic gets flexed, so the front and back tooth gets room to move sideways. This ends up with the two parts scissoring each other, and might break the Whole darn thing. I solved it by dismantling the front tooth and giving it a good spotweld on both sides. Kinda hard to explain, but it removes the possibility for this to happen again 👍

    • @DADDELIVERS
      @DADDELIVERS  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks Roar - yes, you're completely right!
      My welding isn't very... non-existent - I have to push my foot on the pedal to start, which separates the scissored teeth... Yours sounds like a great solution though!

    Looks to me as it's doing what it's supposed to 😍 Is it really manageable with only one arm, or do you rather want to use both hands? (asking because I have one operating hand, permanently from a stroke decades ago, and there's no need to spend money on tools that require 2 hands)

    • @DADDELIVERS
      @DADDELIVERS  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Maritha
      Thanks for the kind question -- ooh, this is a tough one. It depends on how strong your good hand is.
      I'm assuming as it's your good hand, you're feeling nice and strong!
      If the ground is damp, and you're able to lean back and use your whole body to pivot the weeder - so the weeder does the work, it might work okay.
      I had to do it one handed because I was holding the camera - I'd prefer to use two for power and balance, but I got some good ones up one handed - might be great exercise!
      I fear that the balance might where it's tough -- I'd lean towards predicting that it *could* work, because you use your body weight on your foot to plunge it into the ground and you could find the best technique to pull back the weeder.
      It's a bit like pulling a pint of beer in a bar.
      Sorry I can't be of more help, and hope you make the decision that works best for you.

      Hi Dave
      Thanks for the great question
      Thinking back, I think I really liked having that D handle. They both seem to work the same but the D handle was probably much more comfortable to use!
      Funnily, hadn't even noticed that so thanks for asking!

    Only use your foot to get the tool in the ground. Extract with you foot of, thats the idea of the leverage it creates.

    All that this useless contraption does is tear the root, it doesn't get it all and the weeds that have really established themselves will just come back. Don't waste your time or money on it. I returned it to the store where I bought it and lodged a complaint.
