You know, I've had a crush on Christy Carlson Romano ever since I first saw her on Even stevens. I always thought she was really hot and sexy. Also, despite the fact she's not Vanessa Williams, I think she did one hell of a good job singing this Pocahontas tune.
There's a rumor that Christy might play Marian Stevens in the Broadway version of the 1964 Frank Sinatra movie "Robin and the 7 Hoods" which opens in the Spring of 2011.
I love this song and how Christy sings it. But how come like almost every gil actress can also sing wonderfully and becomes not only a singer but also an actress too? Whatever I do not really care or mind because I also know that I have the talent for both. :) How can some of you make the little heart appear and to come out?

Disney tries to make singers out of all their stars but the ones who actually CAN sing don't make it big like they should (LaLaine from Lizzie McGuire, Alexz Johnson from So Weird, and Christy) but the ones who are manufactured do (Miley Cyrus, Hilary Duff).
For some reason, she sounds like she's 12 years old when she sings... Granted, an outstanding 12 year old singer, but it sounds like puberty hasn't taken her singing voice quite yet in this recording... and it looks like she's around 16-17 in this video. Does that make sense?
Yes. She doesn't do the voice of Kimberly Ann Possible a.k.a Kim Possible. And yes, she also has an AWESOME voice!! But I'm wondering, where is she now? It's like, she disappeared from the Disney's Channel (Channel 51), you know what I mean??
I bet that Vanessa's version of this song is just horrible but Christy's is WAY better! I miss her so much and this song brings back so many good memories! :D

The original version of this song is just far too epic to recreate. Try as disney might, the magic they created in the 90s (and decades before) can never be reproduced, although Christy Romano was a good choice for the vocals.

This is beautiful, why in 6 years does Disney Channel have to become a mess with all these ugly new shows ?? Why not keep a classic Disney & a Regular Disney. So that ppl who were kids in this time can enjoy memories :)
