I’ve just acquired this deck. I purchased it after reading a rather well done deck interview in my Canadian Tarot group. I agree that this is a more shadow work type of deck. That was my immediate thought upon my initial walk through. I agree that it is a very difficult deck to shuffle. I too get great satisfaction out of a smooth rifle shuffle. I LOL at your awesome shuffle of the unicorn deck. Love that you understand what it means to have a great shuffling deck. It truly is a part of the experience. As always I enjoy your Videos and appreciate the time and effort you put into them.

Maybe you could start the reviews facing you and then switch over to the top down camera after your intro? What camera are you using by the way? I'm in the market for one and would appreciate advice
Yes mine have bowed massively on my shadow lands deck. I thought it was cos I'd maybe left it in a hot place or something, but I checked all my other decks and they weren't bowed at all. So I'm glad I'm not the only one who has had this problem!!!
I love the Shadowland deck, but I would use it a lot more if it wasn’t so painful! I don’t riffle shuffle, I’m disabled and my hands just don’t want to do that. So shuffling is a much longer process and it’s just so sore! I don’t mind the gilding but I’ve been meaning to file it off to fix that issue and I’m so glad you mentioned that you found it didn’t help - you’ve saved me a lot of wasted time and frustration. I love the chunkiness, but honestly it isn’t worth the discomfort and I’d gladly take a thinner, more flexible stock because if it was comfortable and easy I’d be picking up this deck ten times more. The House Of Shadows really appeals as a companion, but I’m new to Lenormand. What deck would you recommend I pick up to learn? Omg I've had the same problem with my Shadowland deck bowing and killing my thumbs to shuffle. I corner rifle because my hands aren't large enough to grip tarot sized cards and it was the lip of the gilding that hurt my thumbs the most. I'll have to try filing that off and see if it hurts less. I never really saw Shadowland as a pure shadow deck. I got it because it really tickled my love for all things Halloween and quirky, and the book didn't seem to highlight the shadow over the upright meanings. I just got the Dark Wood Tarot though and its guidebook is very much written to highlight the shadow and is just all around fantastic. I'm really impressed with how well it's written. So I think Shadowland will end up being my Halloween/October go to and Dark Wood will be my anytime shadow work deck.

I’m loving this deck at the moment. I’m using it for the majority of my personal weekly readings, with great results. I’m thoroughly enjoying it and I love the kooky weird characters 💛🖤💛 I haven’t had an issue shuffling but I can’t riffle shuffle for the life of me anyway. I see the influence of Charles Addams in this creators deck. Thanks for the comments on the card gilding and stock. Everyone is gaga over this deck and I appreciate your honesty about it. It sounds like it has the same issues as the new 2nd edition of The Star Tarot. Mine arrived with a significant bow. The cards are so bowed and stiff, I can't shuffle against the bow. And I have to split the deck into two to actually shuffle it. It is better than the original edition but still isn't perfect....but it was a pretty inexpensive deck, so it's ok. The guidebook is worth the price of admission!

I agree the Shadowland Tarot is so hard to shuffle. It has for a number of reasons been disappointing. The guide is great though.
