I love your mindset to coasters - especially how you talked about Cheetah Hunt. It really is just pure FUN! If you can’t just enjoy a coaster without criticizing every tiny bit of it, I feel you’re taking the fun of everything.
I tend to lose respect for coaster chad's that call it a family coaster. They don't understand that coasters between family and high thrill exist and have such a myopic view on roller coasters. Cheetah hunt is a moderate thrill coaster that's more intense than a family coaster like cobra's curse, but less intense than kumba or montu.
Great video! That loop around the lift on Kumba reminds me of Banshee Ive ridden at KI. That tower there reminds me of the tower or towers at Grona Lund but you stay hanging at the top for longer. I enjoyed watching!
One year we rode Iron Gwazi 15 times in one day by walking off the ride, cutting through the locker area and walking right back on again! Best time to visit Busch Gardens is the middle of November! Kids are in school and being between Halloween and Christmas the rides are practically walk on!! We live in Pittsburgh and visit Tampa for a week every year. The park sells a season pass in the fall that includes entry that year and the following season so it's a 2 for 1 grand slam. Tampa is a great area for the beaches, museums, etc. Too bad you didn't get to ride Scorpion which Busch Gardens keeps in impeccable condition.
Oh, Busch Gardens Tampa -- my favorite park. My two best days at a park (December 2022 and 2023) have been at BGT. I went on the same day last month as I did in 2022, and the park was empty both times. In 2022, the longest I had to wait for coasters all day was about 10 minutes at times for both Iron Gwazi and Cheetah Hunt. Last month, the park was even emptier than in 2022, and all coasters for the entire day, including Iron Gwazi and Cheetah Hunt, were walk-ons or only a station wait at certain times. I find this park to be so incredibly beautiful because I love all the African theming/architecture and the tropical landscaping. I love the way large birds are just comfortably walking freely around the terraces. It's definitely one of the cleanest parks I've ever been to. The staff is also some of the friendliest park staff I've ever encountered. And on both of my trips, I met some of the nicest people visiting the park that I've ever met at parks. BGT is a coaster paradise for me. Firstly, Iron Gwazi, my favorite coaster. Montu, which I loved before, moved up to being my favorite invert on this latest trip. Kumba is phenomenal. I don't care what anyone says. It's forceful, intense, relentless and fun as shit -- not the least bit rough. It's definitely one of my favorite roller coasters. Its Zero G roll is one of my very favorite inversions on any coaster, and the cobra roll is my favorite cobra roll on any coaster. My whole opinion of Cheetah Hunt changed last month. I was underwhelmed by it in 2022, but my recent rides on it were great. I'll take it any day over Hagrid's, which is how I also felt in 2022 when I was even underwhelmed by Cheetah Hunt. Sheikra is a good one. Of the three dive coasters I've ridden (Sheikra, Griffon, and Valravn), Sheikra feels to be the most powerful of them. Cobra's Curse is alright, decent fun. Scorpion is decent enough for the type of coaster it is. I know that you're not a fan of Sky Rocket II models, but I've really enjoyed the two I've ridden, Tempesto and Tigris, and I did find Tigris to be the better of the two. I'm glad you got better rides on Iron Gwazi this time. I was lucky on both my trips because it was running full force all day on both of them. And night rides on Iron Gwazi are my favorite night rides of any coaster. I could so easily live in Busch Gardens Tampa -- have a flat in one of the Northern African style buildings, with Montu at my backdoor and Iron Gwazi only a five minute walk away -- palm trees and other tropical plants in my back yard, and wild, tropical birds strolling around all over the place. Hell, it truly would be a complete paradise for me.
Iron Gwazi does run noticeably slower in the morning after opening, still fun. But definitely ride it after it warms up outside and the ride has several cycles on it.
I just went to Busch gardens recently and it was my first time and the only other rmc I had done was outlaw run and when I rode iron gwazi it was the craziest thing I have ever done
Funny thing about cheetah hunt a friend told me when i visited for the first time: Theres one support in cheetah hunt that OBVIOULSY is not supporting anything. It’s so far away it’s obvious. You can clearly see the support if you pause at 3:20 and look towards the track that’s going above the train you’re riding
Montu was my first big looping coaster, and I fell in love with coasters after riding it. Went to Busch Gardens 3 or 4 times in the early 2000s. I need to go back because it's been a long time.
Went past week sunday and thursday, BG is a great park with awesome coasters. Sunday was a great day, with more than one train on al the coasters, short lines and lot of re-rides. Thursday were the operations very bad...all coasters (exept IG on 2 trains) on 1 train so sad. But had a great time there.
If you're not paying for parking, the fun card at BG is worth it, even if you only go 2-3 times a year. For those that don't know, the fun card is their season pass that allows unlimited visits for the current year, except for blockout dates. It costs nearly the same price as a single day ticket. On last year's black friday sale, they had the 2024 fun card for $89.
My home park. Im embarrassed to give my age (im old lol) but the Scorpion was the first rollercoaster i ever rode. They only had the Scorpion and (now defunct and torn down) Arrow looper named Python. Python would nearly give you a concussion at the end lol. It was reolaced by Kumba and was the reason for Kumbas iconic double inversion
Busch Gardens Tampa is a great park! Visited all the way back in April 2013 with family on holiday/vacation from England when I was 14. So many favourites, favourite launch coaster in Cheetah Hunt, favourite dive coaster in SheiKra, one of my fav inverts in Montu (shame you had such long queue for it, I rode it same time of year probably on a week day tbf, but no queues, went on it half a dozen times front row) to ride Gwazi when it was a wooden coaster (my god did it shake, looks much smoother as a steel coaster), only one I didn’t do was Kumba which was closed when we went. Those funnel cakes you can get there too, great food.
Always a pleasure to watch. Man, Gwazi in the front was insane at the end. There was a noticeable amount of speed on the 2nd ride than the back ride from earlier. As for that cat, it serves a purpose, it eats mice and other vermin for pest control. Sometimes you'll see one or two at Cedar Point and many restaurants and bodegas in downtown city areas employ them as well. Great vid!
Love this! BGT is my home park and I'm there twice a month at least. Gwazi is my favorite thing to do on the PLANET; death roll me anytime, please. And Cheetah Hunt actually makes for a supreme night ride 🔥
I visited the park last summer and the operations on Iron Gwazi were disgustingly slow. legitimately 4-5 minute dispatches…I’ve never been in the station for a coaster and waited that long. 5 minute lines turned into 30, it was insane. rest of the park was solid though, I only had like 6 hours at the park but I did get to ride everything once, rode the train through the safari area, walked through the animal exhibits, and got re-rides on Montu and Iron Gwazi (3x). SFMM is my home park so I’m used to painfully slow operations, and the crew at Iron Gwazi put that entire park to shame 😂
I feel the same way about you did once you finished your visit. I actually planned to go back in 2020, but COVID pushed my trip back and I didn’t plan it until last year in December of 2022. Then, my flight got cancelled and I went last year over the summer in 2023. I had fast passes for all the rides once (and they screwed up my fast past for the single use and not the unlimited probably because I had to cancel my visit there so many times 😭), but I pretty much rode every single ride (except maybe Air Grover and Sand Serpent, but it was already taken down anyway by the time I visited), and we had to leave mid-day to go back to our hotel in Sanibel (2-3 hour drive). I definitely could have ridden more if the operations weren’t as slow and I noticed this especially on Iron Gwazi. I am not completely sure why they have very slow operations, but it might just be the workers. I was pretty happy by the end of the day because I had gotten most of the credits, but I wished I got to ride Iron Gwazi again. I rode it on the back-row right seat (or known as the magic seat), and I was blown away by it.
Just wondering, what are the recording policies for this park and other sea world parks? Are you allowed to bring secured gopros on rides without asking or do you have to get permission or something?
Yes, you can record with a GoPro using a chestmount or wristmount. You don’t need to ask for permission at any park, except I did have to get a slip from guest services at Busch Gardens Williamsburg.
I remember back when I rode my first dive coasters in 2018 (being Valravn and SheiKra) and I wasn’t crazy about them. Then in 2022 I rode Griffon and I thought it was great and found a much larger appreciation for dive coasters. Honestly I think what changed was I rode Griffon in the front row and I only did the others in the back. I also did the others only once whereas I got 3 rides on Griffon and front was easily my favorite. Back was fun but I feel like you gotta do a dive coaster in the front row. At that point for me it’s go big or go home. Also BGT is GOATed and I miss it so much, hope to get back there soon to ride Iron Gwazi
I visited Busch Garden Tampa for the first time ever last month and was able to go on every single ride that I wanted to go on and I managed to get on Iron Gwazi six times.
I was at the park in early December and I experienced the same thing, especially cheetah hunt. Iron Gwazi’s wait was half that of cheetah hunt. Kumba was a walk-on, but Montu had an insane wait. I plan on visiting a few times this year, so I bought the season pass. Congrats on riding Falcon’s fury. That was also a walk-on for me, but I chickened out 😂
Iron gwazi and Zadra both have similar layouts, notice how zadra’s 2nd element also banks out at the top like gwazi, gwazi is also more focused on speed then airtime and so is zadra i feel like they have a lot more layouts in common
How do you think you'll rank Iron Gwazi after those rides you got on it? I haven't ridden it myself, just curious. I wish you could've gotten a night ride! If I had been in your situation, I would have just waited for it. Often the posted wait times at theme parks is inaccurate, especially at the very end of the day. I don't know how the shuttle bus system works, but if you had 65 minute still to ride Iron Gwazi, 7:15 couldn't have been the last one. Glad to see all the coasters you rode were great though! I love seeing them warmed up after those slow rides on Arie Force 1. Have a great day at Islands!
The wait times at Busch Gardens Tampa are pretty inaccurate sometimes. I waited for Montu and it stated it was a 20 minute wait, but I ended up waiting around 45 minutes for front row…
Cheetah hunt is not a family coaster it was made before the time of family coasters with inversions and is a moderate thrill coaster bigger than cobras curse smaller than kumba montu ect.
Nice vlog! This park is going to be my home park in a few months and I can’t wait to finally ride Falcon’s Flight but I don’t think it can top Tower or Terror or Mystery Castle
Only reason I’m not a fan of cheetah hunt is that the hard over the shoulder restraints are some of the most painful I have experienced, but that’s just a height thing. Rest of the coasters in the park are some of my favorite in their respective models with iron grazing being my number one over all.
I came here last april on a slammed saturday, so I only managed to get half the credits. This park is so close to being my second favorite in the state, it desperately needs better operations. The coaster lineup is fantastic tho, Iron Gwazi is by far my favorite coaster in the state. The worst part of my visit tho was Falcon's Fury being closed for STAFFING of all things, which was extremely frustrating considering this was just after it finally reopened from its long hiatus.
The operations is the only criticism I have for BGT. When cheetah hunt is running 4 trains and loading on both stations, the line moves really fast. But I've seen it where they only run 2 trains and load 1 station and the line is super long.
Was there actually the same day you were and saw you in line for Cheetah hunt, but were a bit behind me and didn’t really have chance to say hi. But dang man those lines sucked. It was my first visit too and only got 2 rides on Gwazi as well. Also convinced my sister who is scared of roller coasters that cheetah hunts launches are only 30 mph and she believed me and mustered up the courage to ride. I told her the top speed was 60 mph after we got off lol
I think I had a reverse trip compared to you guys… Islands waits were incredibly long this past weekend as well and not fully sure why, but I ended up waiting nearly 3 hours for Velocicoaster. However, at Busch Gardens during the week the wait times rarely exceeded 20 minutes for me, and even with the park closing at 5 I was able to get on everything I wanted except SheiKra which was closed for refurbishments 🥲. Love the video btw!

Your Reaction to seeing animals on Cheetah Hunt was impeccable
I’m a 77 year old coaster freak, and just found your channel. You are by far the most exhilarated rider out there. Iron Gwazi on my bucket list.
Such a g
lawrence bud you look insanely well for 77
not the gazelles 😭🤣

1:38 Thats the Gwazi cat!! I hear its always there. Its like a BGT easter egg, per se.
Should have paid for Quick Queue lol
Your iron gwasi reaction was more golden this time then in your first time lmfao

Aww I hope the cat by iron Gwazi is ok and being taken care of!
Disney World has cats too, they take care of mice

Every time I hear that intro song, I know I’m bouta have the most entertaining 5-20 minutes of my day.
Was that first Iron Gwazi ride in the morning because if so, that was a really fast morning ride
Yes, I was blown away!
The ladys hair in front of u on iron gwazi was so freaking awesome
This was an awesome video - thank you! We haven't been there yet, but plan to go next year.

Great stuff! I’m heading back to BGW and SFO this summer. And I’ll be hitting up WDW for the first time ever!
Just wondering, what are the recording policies for this park and other sea world parks? Are you allowed to bring secured gopros on rides without asking or do you have to get permission or something?
Yes, you can record with a GoPro using a chestmount or wristmount. You don’t need to ask for permission at any park, except I did have to get a slip from guest services at Busch Gardens Williamsburg.
the bojack horseman reference killed me i dont think i could love this channel any more than rn at this point in time
I remember back when I rode my first dive coasters in 2018 (being Valravn and SheiKra) and I wasn’t crazy about them. Iron gwazi and Zadra both have similar layouts, notice how zadra’s 2nd element also banks out at the top like gwazi, gwazi is also more focused on speed then airtime and so is zadra i feel like they have a lot more layouts in common
Iron Gwazi and Zadra are easily the two most similar rides in the world to one another.
When are you coming to Ireland !!!!
Stay tuned 👀
THERE'S ANIMALS EVERYWHERE 🦌
More rollercoaster reactions that sound like society is collapsing 😂🖤
Cheetah hunt is not a family coaster it was made before the time of family coasters with inversions and is a moderate thrill coaster bigger than cobras curse smaller than kumba montu ect.
Nice vlog! This park is going to be my home park in a few months and I can’t wait to finally ride Falcon’s Flight but I don’t think it can top Tower or Terror or Mystery Castle
5:37 the kid starring u down 😭
14:27 look at that transition
I am now having Gwazi withdrawal from this video.... Have to take a quick side trip to Tampa from Orlando while I'm out that way ...😊
Operations SUCKED when the Wife and I were there also
Going there next month 1st time ever. I absolutely cannot wait.
Also I think the Gwazi kitty should be named "CLAWzi"
1:37 LITTLE KITTYYYYYYY
Only reason I’m not a fan of cheetah hunt is that the hard over the shoulder restraints are some of the most painful I have experienced, but that’s just a height thing. Rest of the coasters in the park are some of my favorite in their respective models with iron grazing being my number one over all.
I'm not a fan of iron gwazi's shin guards
I was there 9 days ago!❤❤❤
GAZELLES!!! THERES GAZELLES!!!! ok but actually hope you enjoyed bgt
@15:15 yea b+m used to rock
I’m going there in 4 days and I’m terrified for iron gwazi
I came here last april on a slammed saturday, so I only managed to get half the credits. This park is so close to being my second favorite in the state, it desperately needs better operations. The coaster lineup is fantastic tho, Iron Gwazi is by far my favorite coaster in the state. The worst part of my visit tho was Falcon's Fury being closed for STAFFING of all things, which was extremely frustrating considering this was just after it finally reopened from its long hiatus.
Falcon’s Fury can be a tricky ride to get on! I’ve gotten lucky all my visits, but I know others aren’t as fortunate.
The operations is the only criticism I have for BGT. When cheetah hunt is running 4 trains and loading on both stations, the line moves really fast. But I've seen it where they only run 2 trains and load 1 station and the line is super long.
Love BGT have an Aunt down that area and GWAZI is uno
1:40 I personally call it gwazi kitty, but it just depends on the person you talk to. idk if anyone else has given it a name, but i like gwazi kitty!
I swear on everything falcons fury is the scariest thing ive been on
I was there the day you went! I wish I ran into you
Was there actually the same day you were and saw you in line for Cheetah hunt, but were a bit behind me and didn’t really have chance to say hi.
18:10 😂
Cheetah hunt is a great fun ride
i love cheetah hunt, but im too tall for the restraints to be comfy :'(
The cat 😂
Are you going to Universal tomorrow??
That’s next!
@@CoasterDash I’ll be there at Velocicoaster tomorrow
I liked IG towards the front a lot more, I thought the second half hits way harder, and the first half hit hard no matter where you sit.
GAZELLES! THERES GAZELLES!!!
BGT is my home park!!!!
Hype
i dont think cheetah hunt is a family coaster because it goes upside down and doesent look very gentle for a family
The cat's name is gwazi he is so sweet
you can see my red shirt sitting below SheiKra at 10:06
Will You Go To Walt Disney World?
On a separate trip in May, yes :)
Damn man
Gwazi cat has to be a thoosie, that’s the only reasonable explanation
I don't know how you manage to not lose your voice after screaming this much 😅
*Sceams on iron gwazi* *the 90 degree stall* 17:35 WWWWWWHHHHAAAATTTT TTTTHHHHEEEEE FFFFFFUUUUU***********************KKKKKKKKKKK
Seriously chetah hunt is a W gets way to much hate
Second comment, saw this had 32 views and something was off.
Bush gardens 🤣💀
that second half of Gwazi is not as good as the first they should have ADDED different elements
I completely agree, but it’s still tons of fun. I do prefer Zadra because of that.
I think that Busch Gardens should switch to Pepsi.
Name the cat gwazi
1:37 Name him Gwazi Destroyer
I think I had a reverse trip compared to you guys… Islands waits were incredibly long this past weekend as well and not fully sure why, but I ended up waiting nearly 3 hours for Velocicoaster. However, at Busch Gardens during the week the wait times rarely exceeded 20 minutes for me, and even with the park closing at 5 I was able to get on everything I wanted except SheiKra which was closed for refurbishments 🥲. Love the video btw!
