Hi Professor Adam Morgan, Today I have completed Access Tutorial with the help of your videos . I wanted to thank you. You taught very well and shared your knowledge and expertise with everyone. Its really appreciated. After few days I'm going to start my college and I have done this subject already with your help. Thank you very much. God Bless You and will give you reward. Aamen.
Hi Sierra, That's awesome, congrats on passing your certification! Thank you for watching the videos and best of luck with college. Let me know if you have any questions and have a great semester!
Wow Rishit, that is a really high score! Congratulations on passing your exam, and I'm happy my videos were helpful for your exam. Thanks for watching!
Hello Adam! I teach high school business education classes and am currently working to MOS certify in Access 2016 after earning Word, PPT, and Excel in previous years. Your videos have been very helpful, especially to make Access seem much less daunting. Taking GMetrix practice exams is my next step to prepare and then hopefully by the end of April I'll be ready to certify!
Hi Amy, Best of luck preparing for your Access certification. I feel that Access is a bit more difficult that Word, PPT, and Excel, but nothing that you can't handle. I recommend getting 80% + on every GMetrix practice exam in Testing mode before you take the exam. Once you do that, you should be able to pass the exam no problem. Thanks for watching my videos, I hope the Access playlist has been easy to follow. Have a nice day!
I'm finding that because I have never used Access, I cannot easily relate to it. Using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for years before being aware of MOS exams, made certification in those programs a nice "icing on the cake". With Access, I have no cake to add icing to! I'll get there, and hopefully soon!
I have been meaning to share with you that I passed my exam with a 908! Your Access playlist helped so much in prepping me to achieve a passing score. Thanks!
Hi Melissa, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. The Access MOS does not have an advanced section, but my Access playlist will cover most of what you'll see on the MOS Exam. I do teach advanced Access topics.
Hello Professor Adam! Thank you so much for the useful content you put up! I watched your Access playlist as I am getting ready to take this exam for the first time. Your explanations are easy to follow and your videos have helped me a lot! Best regards, Rita.
Thank you for watching, John. If you're interested in learning more about Access before your MOS Exam, I have a playlist that focuses on many of the concepts of that exam in detail. It is linked below: th-cam.com/video/psLJJyNlRXY/w-d-xo.html
Just found this video series and I'm going to be taking the exam soon! Do you have any advice on the exam itself? Format, what we have to do and how much time we have to do it?
Hi Weallbfree, Good luck preparing for your exam. The exam is 1,000 points, you need 700 to pass. The exam is 50 minutes long. It contains 5-7 projects, which contain 5-7 tasks within them. After completing each task, you move to the next. If you cannot complete a task, you can flag it to review later. I recommend that my students complete each task that they know how to do first, flagging tasks that they don't know how to complete. At the end, they go back and attempt the flagged tasks. I hope this is helpful for you, and don't forget to check out my Access MOS playlist, which covers a lot of what you'll see on the exam: th-cam.com/video/psLJJyNlRXY/w-d-xo.html
@@ProfessorAdamMorgan Thanks Adam! I think I'm pretty prepared, I've been using Access for many years and have done professional projects in VBA. I took a Lynda course for the exam and it had a practice exam which was 30 tasks in 40 minutes. I got almost all of them but what makes me nervous is that I felt like I had to really rush through it. Do you feel that's the case with the real exam or can you kind of take your time? And how is the exam scored, like are your keystrokes and mouse movements logged? For example if they ask you to create a query do they care if you do it through design view or a wizard (I'm an SQL guy myself)?
Yeah if you've worked in Access for years and completed VBA projects, I think you'll do fine on the exam. I think you need to keep a moderate pace on the exam. Usually time isn't a problem for those that keep moving. Students who struggle with time usually spend way to long on one individual question. They do not track keystrokes or mouse movement. It's graded by how the project looks when it's turned in from what I understand. I don't think it matters how you do the query, as long as the final result is correct. Unless it says use the Query Wizard, in which case you should use the wizard.
Hi Pedro, I do not use a book for my tutorials. I don't have exercise files for the videos at this time, but that is something I'm hoping to implement in the future. Thank you for watching!
Professor, I really appreciate your videos. They are very informative. I have found however, that it can be difficult to practice these skills if you don't have files, a document, spreadsheet etc to work with. Would you have any practice files you could share so that we could practice our skills as we go?
Hey Angela, Thanks, I'm glad the videos are working for you. Unfortunately, when I made this video, it was intended primarily for my students who already have the data file and I am not already to redistribute it. In future videos, I'm planning on creating my own files that I can share with others as well. Sorry, I cannot help with this one.
Hi Krista, I am sorry, but I am not familiar with that exam. I looked it up and it looks like something I can create a series for, but I'd like to do the test first if possible. I'll look into this.
Hi Pavan, Yes, I can do both of these videos on my new Access 2019 playlist. Passed. Weird question I got about adding a shortcut like Alt+R to a Form control. I have no clue how to solve that. Maybe add that in one of your videos.
Hi, This explanation should help you out: 1. In a form create an ALT+ Letter (A thru Z) as a keyboard shortcut to a field within a form. The process explained below will allow you to press ALT + the first letter of the field name after you move from design view back to form view… a. Open a form and switch to design view b. Choose a field on the far left of the form (e.g.-Postal Code) c. Right Click and Choose Properties and it should open up to the Format Tab d. The first item listed is “Caption”. Place an & symbol in front of the word Caption e. Return to Form View and Choose ALT+P and it will take you directly to the Postal Code field. You will also notice that the P in Postal Code is underlined.
Hi, I remembered there was a question asked me to unhide a table, so I check the "Show Hidden Objects" box in the Navigation Options", and the previously hidden table was shown but it was color grey, and next step was to right click and click "unihide in this group", i did this on my laptop and there was no problem, but during the exam, when I right clicked, there was no 'unihide in this group' option, so the "grey" table stayed "grey" (not unhide completely). Do you know how to completely unhide a table if there is no "unihide in this group" option? Thank you
Hi Yinzi, Yes, usually that's one of the first questions on the exam. The way that I solved the problem on the exam was by right clicking the menu bar at the top of the navigation pane, then clicking 'Navigation Options' so that the Navigation Options dialog box appears. Then you go down to the check box area, and click 'Show Hidden Objects' to show all hidden tables. Give it a shot and let me know if you have any trouble with it.

Hi Christocream, I'm sorry but I do not know if I can post up the GMetrix product on my channel. I do try to cover all of the concepts in my playlists, but I cannot show their material on my videos. Best of luck passing your MS Office class.
Why can't you just do a step by step of the actual tasks? you could have covered objective 1-1 in less time than the length of this video. Then a video for objective 1-2, 1-3, etc. Cover each section and each segment within them, (objectives: 1-1, 1-2, etc.). At the end of said segments, Provide some insight and maybe clarification on things you know might be confusing or show easier, real life ways to accomplish the covered tasks, that differ from the specific steps the exam calls for.
Hi The Brown Babe, I have a breakdown of many of the individual tasks on my PowerPoint playlist. This video is primarily for explaining what I remember from the exam, and what to expect while taking it. I am not trying to teach everything the exam covers in this video.

I'm sorry but I do not know if I can post up the GMetrix product on my channel.
Hi The Brown Babe,
I have a breakdown of many of the individual tasks on my PowerPoint playlist. This video is primarily for explaining what I remember from the exam, and what to expect while taking it. I am not trying to teach everything the exam covers in this video.

This guy is flying through everything and doing the opposite of what he said. Like, how do you repair and save files and databases? He just skipped over it.
Hi La Porta D,
You repair a database by going to the File tab and choosing Compact & Repair. I cover saving files & databases in the other videos in my playlist, as it's a more basic task. If you want to learn more about those types of things, here is my playlist:
