I'm still prepping for the MOS Access exam and most of my issues are with creating objects. I'm comfortable with the basics, but when there are lots of in-depth "extras" to the requirements of the object, I have trouble. Is there a "trick" to know when it's best to use the wizard versus just using design mode?
Hi Amy, Most of the exam deals with creating and editing objects. Usually the exam will tell you to use a Wizard if it wants you to use the Wizard. I recommend not using the Wizard unless it asks for it. I also recommend completing tasks that you know 100% first, then returning to the difficult ones at the end of the exam.
Hi Taha, Sure, so after you create your report, go to the content control that you want to add up. Then go to the Report Layout Tools 'Design' tab. In the Grouping and Totals group and select the Totals button. This will bring up a drop down list, select sum. This will add a total content control at the bottom of the column. That is strange, I haven't heard of that problem before. You can try making a copy of your entire database and opening the copy to see if that helps. Sometimes creating a duplicate can help reset the functionality. Best of luck with this.
just want to know how to lock data base to forms so that no one can alter it the info but is able to see the forms and its content . Also the persons are able to lookup forms using ID or sequence of numbers which is associate with a contact name . Hope I am making some sense . Thanks

@@ProfessorAdamMorgan Yes, I'm sure that I have a table(the name is contacts) selected within the left-side a pane before trying to activate the Wizard, but only cannot create report by Wizard, and the other way can create report, like create the empty report or design the report can do. I don't know why. Thank you very much!
That is strange, I haven't heard of that problem before. You can try making a copy of your entire database and opening the copy to see if that helps. Sometimes creating a duplicate can help reset the functionality. Best of luck with this.

just want to know how to lock data base to forms so that no one can alter it the info but is able to see the forms and its content . Also the persons are able to lookup forms using ID or sequence of numbers which is associate with a contact name .

I don't believe Access has a change case option. Word has an option, perhaps you can find it in the Ribbon options button in Access. Here is a video to the Word Change Case tutorial that I made, perhaps it'll help you out:
