@@GarethDix It never does, but on the flip side... It's always a fun time watching the reactions of a first timer. The inevitable full throttle (or dead throttle) panic is fun to watch!
@NoOneFPV and there’s always two types of people… 1 that goes too hard on the throttle and cuts it and 2 that doesn’t go hard enough to escape the ground effect and cuts it 😂
I just upgraded to the Goggles 2 from the Goggles V2. I'm still getting used to them, but the New Bee Drone Foam helped a lot. Next, I've got to get me a DJI Dildo Controller 2 so I can fly my Mini 3 Pro just like my Siren F5 Splits! 🤣
I must have tried 4 different foams until I found one that was like the one I used on my V2 and it made a huge difference! But yeah I was actually quite impressed by the mini 3 in FPV mode… almost considered getting one after filming this.
When your vulnerable and mushy body is inside the plane you soon learn to have an "attentive" way of thinking...... or they will hose your remains to clean the landing strip. The "walk of shame" (several of them) are the price to pay for the fun to come. A good first flight.
I’m pretty sure putting an FPV pilot behind the controls of a real plane would be quite an experience… “yeah don’t worry if I crash I’ll just replace the props” 😂 But yeah I’m still amazed at that first flight!
I’m sure there’s a good technical reason to do with the version of occusync it can use but you can’t help but think they’re trying to sell the new goggles instead. I’m glad the V2’s work with the FPV system though because now I have a spare!
@@GarethDix I've got two pairs of v2s, and am plenty happy with them, other than wishing they'd work with the m3p. I live in Florida, and I'm a bit scared off by complaints of the G2s fogging up in high humidity, plus concerns over fitment. I'm also getting into racing and half of my quads are analog, so not having av in to run analog on the G2s was the final deal breaker for me.
@kurtzFPV so with the standard “foam” they aren’t as good as the V2’s for fitment or heat management but since I replaced this with the fat foam (similar to what I had on my V2’s) it’s so much better. It gets hot here in the summer and it was ok but it’s not so humid where I am so I can’t comment on if it will fix the fogging completely
@kurtzFPV oh and on the analogue I didn’t think I would ever run anything other than digital but I’m considering messing around with tiny whoops for the winter indoors so I may have to keep my V2’s for that
Drop some links to your (or other people’s videos) to inspire Vangelis in his FPV journey below!
What a cool idea for a video, Gareth! I subbed to Vangelis' channel. I'm glad to see you still enjoying your Siren F3! Awesome stuff, my friend!
I fly that siren F3 more than anything else still… but that’s for another video 😉
Thank you. This was very entertaining 😂
Thank you so much! 😊 it was a lot of fun on the day filming this too!
Oh yeah!
I love it. Brilliant! :) It's always fun watching someone fly for the first time. ^..^
I think everyone (including me) has an idea of how that first flight is going to go… but it never goes the way we think it will 😂

Vangelis is the greatest of all time!
He really is… that first flight definitely didn’t go anywhere near as badly as I thought it would 😂😂
Awesome. I fly both.
Do you fly fixed wings as well? I’m guessing that would be a bit more like a plane than a quad
@GarethDix I use to fly rc planes but now I fly fpv dji and non dji fpv I like helicopter and quad copers as I need less space. Than to fly rc planes.
@peter360adventures9 I’m guessing they’re also easier to land and less likely to break? 😂

Vangelis did better than a lot of us on our first FPV flights. Wonder how he’ll be within a month or so of flying. Flying like Mr Steele maybe?
Within a month he’ll be freestyling X-class quads like Mr Steele 😂
Yeah, no 🥰
Maybe 2 months
Great video!
Thank you so much! 😊
I sure wish they'd allow us to use the goggles v2 to fly the mini 3 pro too.

Where are you silly pink classes, don't you want to see "true colors" while full-size flying? I think those induce some kind of MegaLag at FPV.
Imagine seeing actual colour when flying… maybe this will be part of the next DJI goggles
cool video, wondering if you have interest in collaborating with us?
"promo sm" 😓
I promoted his channel… but nothing else
