The stock 3.8 GT sounds beast. I`ve been in one, one of the greatest exhaust notes I have heard in person. The 350 and 370Z doesn`t sound close to this at all.
Sorry to be off topic but does someone know a tool to get back into an Instagram account?? I was stupid forgot the account password. I would appreciate any tricks you can offer me!
@Hunter Isaias I really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process now. Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@badmoonPL the +7000 rpm is not safe .. not even the 6000 for the long term it's more or less abusing the engine softly.. or roughly. n yes it does shorten its life. if ure plannin to keep it for less than 5 years n u can do it no porb ;)
Love my 2013; wish I had the manual...hard to find...reported issues with the clutch made me wary. I do like having two hands free, but now I can't rev bomb. Can't wait to at least mod my Ginny. Cheers 'n Beers
I have manual 2016 80,000 miles never had an issue with the clutch still has alot more life in her. Only thing i hate is the random rev hang from time to time. Doesn't happen often eother
@@alvaroooo17 Do you still have it? I picked up a 2015 3.8 a month ago and am just getting started modding it out. 19,000 miles and 6- speed. DM me, or message me on IG @ Tierney_one
@xxTIGER43xx overhaul means stripping the engine apart and changing some if its internal stuff it all relies on the oil viscosity. oil tends to cover all the parts in between to reduce friction as much as possible. having the engine to run over 7000 RPM usually causes oil to escape the "connecting rod bearings" and/or the "piston rings". therefore, causes them to wear out or even melt. that's because the thickness of the oil makes it a lot slower to cover the enormously fast moving parts.
@maddmatt02 ok I read some more replies and some seem to think that it is because the front wheels are stationary and the rear are driven and that variance messes with the ECU, although every car I have ever owned (as far as I know anyways), the vehicles speed was always monitored from either the transmission, diff(FWD), or transfer case if equipped with one. I guess the ABS sensors would be able to tell that the front wheels arent moving... but that means the speedo does this during burn outs?
@500whpSTI I just dished out money on one. Don't feel bad about it at all with the warranty I've got. If they didn't have the warranty they do, then, I'd get your sentiment more.
that's sick, my 05 Elantra revs at 7000 and I just have a short ram intake and headers, is it cause its older? would a ECU reflash actually benefit me? I know its not a race car or whatever, but its all I got for now and I could use the extra mpg haha
@kyle7300 yeah man. I can hardly wait to get mine done at the end of the month. A boddy and I are going up there. From what I've heard the guys at the shop are pretty cool too.
@kasra111 factory numbers are on the flywheel which means ( what the engine produce ) when the power of the engine transfer to the drive-train and to the wheel it loses power ( hp ) sooooo stock genesis coupe 3.8 has around 260-280hp maybe little more maybe little less depends on the dyno and the weather usually percentage rate loss of hp is around 17-20% sometimes more sometimes less sometimes more depends on the transmission, awd, rwd, fwd, length of drive train!! peace
Well its been about 2 years since this video. People in the comments raise question of the valve train's capabilities to continue to function to 7200rpm. This isn't a concern to people that upgrade their springs and in some cases lifters but a lot of people that get flash tunes bring in a stock car. Where does valve float become an issue and has anyone with this tune had any issues with unupgraded valve trains (bent valves, broken spring, ect) Looks fun :) I woudnt mind testing before and after
@kyle7300 West Chester PA. Make a stop at their shop and they'll do it for you in a day. I'm headed up that way around Thanksgiving with a buddy. Can hardly wait. It'll do wonders for this car.
Do some research on the GTI, it's the original hatchback so how can it be ordinary? And German engineering is top notch. I drove a 2010 sonata and the interior felt like i was in an elantra, the cabin rattles and the seats felt like I was sitting on a wooden chair. I've also seen the genesis from the inside and I was anything but impressed. Go check out the GTI's interior, it feels and looks like it belongs on a car that costs 15k more.
Is the ECU by itself or we got to add other specs and stuff in order for people to get the same results as that Genesis Coupe 3.8 that is playing in this video?
moved the rev limiter to 7200 but let off at 7000 to scary? to tune a stock car with bolt ons cool but to move the rev limiter above what the manufacturer set it out on stock motor with bolt ons is stupid . head work and some bottom end work. Hyundai didnt put the rev limit where it is because the wanted to under power the car its to protect the valves, springs, crank and rods. way to get people to grenade their car
@djay102687 ya...it makes 306 hp at the crank/flywheel. by the time it gets to the ground cars usually loose about 40hp. all wheel drive cars loose about 75hp maybe more. stock sti's dyno at like 220whp and they are rated at what 320 or 310? BTW your car sounds and looks awesome. is this just a catback and reflash thats all?? any other suporting mods? 30hp from a reflash only is a HUGE gain
The BK1 3.8 Track 6spd undercuts an E46 M3 Coupe around 50 lbs in curb weight and no one is complaining about M3's being "heavy". Not to mention Gens are doing that with a 111" wheelbase, much loner than even a MKIV Supra (also a little heavier).
only shitty thing is that there aren't enough aftermarket performance parts out there for this engine/car yet. Where are all the aftermarket cams? DualValvesprings? Titanium retainers? ect.
@JRollo777 I was already going to return it due to money issues, so i did and got a Genesis 2.0T Track Version but if all goes well by summer this coming year ill get another 37 so pray for me and still keep the genesis
@Taiji4Life so you think that the drums are turning @ ~160mph, then the dyno operator is somehow instantly locking the drums up so the speedo flies back to zero then the car just magically accelerates the drums back to 160 in a split second? I AM thinking about it and that makes no sense to me. could you explain how being on the dyno can do that?
Is it just me or does this seem to climb PRETTY fast for only 286 and 256?? And if the speedo is jumping around like it is i think its very likely that's not the right mph. Ive seen many dyno runs and at 140 that thing should be BARELY climbing..
i got a quick question! how or where did you find a trunk lid without the logo holes after debadging and without the oval thing left over? cause thats not a carbon fiber trunk id right?
And what's with those "squiggly" dips with the stock ecu at end of the hp line? Did you guys let off the gas a bit or something to keep the stock numbers down a bit..
Honda Civic EK4 160 hp at 7600 tr/min and the max is at 8500 tr/min (stock and N/A) Peugeot 306 S16 F2000 225hp at 7200 tr/mn and the max is at 8200 tr/mn (rally and N/A) I've worked in car racing team....
so i just picked up one at auction. 2010. 300hp, on a road trip i ran it out to 165, gps confirmed, automatic car. Does this mean its been tuned before? how would i check?
german cars don't suck. you just have to maintain them more often than most cars but are one of the safest cars in the world en reliables. check the top gear video where jeremy even puts some acid in a porsche 911's motor cover and still runs fine.
@JRollo777 I thought about it and im not going to buy the G37S, my money problems is over, I already ordered Pistons and Connecting rods from Manley for My 2.0T. I love the G but who else has a RWD $ cylinder Turbo that looks good
ooh, 285hp. lol. Seriously? I have to admit though, that's a great torque curve, larger displacement with head work and this thing could be a lot faster, especially with some custom ground cams, full exhaust and bigger injectors.
the Gens interior is not impressive but it doesnt disappoint either. how is it bad in anyway? and whats so special about the GTI's interior? i have 2 friends with GTI's. ive been inside and have driven them both. they're nice cars i admit but nothing special....they're still FWD, heavy, and slow. they're expensive to mod too. Also VWs are notorious for having electrical problems.

@Koa Jerome No problem xD
@kyle7300 You can get a supercharger for them, it adds like 200 hp.
I just got the 2015 3.8 Rspec genesis coupe and let me say, it is a monster, 348 stock hp, hoping to get it over 500, many mods to come!
Is it really amazing i wanna get one :)
348 stock crank hp. A little over 300 stock whp. And you won't see 500whp without dropping at least 10k in the car if not a little more.
Angel Amaya Yes it is, i actually have a mustang ecoboost now, 380hp to the wheels, im liking it more than the genesis, its tuned and has some mods.
+kevin hawk 380whp? thats a 100hp+ jump from stock
Yes, with a turbo upgrade, intake, exhaust and tune
@badmoonPL the +7000 rpm is not safe .. not even the 6000 for the long term

Very nice Genesis ! Love the wheels on it !
do you guys sell reflashed ecu
dayummm, i usually don't like mods, but this looks sick. money well spent :)
@KaneNFL443 Its just an error because its on the Dyno with the front wheels stationary. On the road it goes back to normal
holy shit, this made me smile. I love the (what some would call cocky) questions.
