I saw 55" TCL at Walmart today. Same exact model #… one box said made in Mexico. Other box said made in China. Are the units made or assembled in Mexico better quality? I have typically had better luck with products out of Mexico vs China.

I bought a QLED 55" tv 4k, the pitcure is so clear and sharp, just perfect, great built in sound system and the google TV menu is easy to understand. A good TV for a reasonable price!
I got one, 43 inch, works well, Android, Netflix button on the remote. I've had it for a year. Quick installation. I bought one because it was cheap and assembled in Poland where I come from.
When I grew up in the 1950's almost no-one I knew could afford a new TV. All the TV's my family owned were from the second hand store. They averaged about 15 inches in black and white and as a young boy I listened to radio for about the first seven years of my life before I even watched my first television which had a blurry picture that depended on a roof antenna or rabbit ears. How times have changed.

This is reassembly line,nice environment of works and good.When i am in practical in a factory in my country Malaysia,i on a reassembly lines.We assemble a stand fan and dvd player(i'm not remember the factory name).I miss that job.TCL is a great factory....

Bought one TCL tv for my kids to play video games last year. . It's cheap for sure $150 for a 45" somehow the pcb from the back of the TV smells really bad after couple of hours of playing.
I had LG for 2-3 years and always had problem with LED lamps inside. After 3 times replacing the LED by LG technician, I was tired and tried this brand (TCL). Cheap and so far (more than one year) no problem happened.
2:31 As an electronics repair technician I have seen this Chang capacitors (2 long devices on the circuit board) leaking and bulging quite fast, even as soon as within a year they fail and need to be replaced. They use them in all types of cheap Chinese electronics. Horrible!
As an electronic engineer, i can tell you that this is how planned obsolescence is done. Every wet capacitor has nominal life span and optimal temperature. When you exceed temperature or current then you can get nice bulging .
I just want 2know with good care, what is the lifespan of their tvs? I just bought a 23' model & the excitement of having 4k hasn't worn down yet. I have been watching it almost none stop but I do have it in a secure place and the environment is nice and cool...

its SKD (semi knock down) assembly factory. Unfortunately, I am not see an alignment process to meet PAL M standard for Brazil. The employees are not using hand anti static strip.
The TVs shown are for the USA market, so NTSC alignment. Antistatic wristbands are not the only way to prevent ESD damage. Another, which is probably what they have there, is an ESD floor. Special paint on the floor conducts electricity to a ground connection somewhere along a wall. The workers wear ESD footwear, which conducts electricity as well, accomplishing the same thing as an antistatic wristband.

You can find people who are selling their old TV since people wants to buy the newer LEDs/ HD TVs. I am sure you can find used televisions that still uses the old LCD technology. I could not find them at Best Buy! I decided to try Walmart. I searched for LCD, and they switched me to LED! David Guerreiro I believe that those panels had come without tuner, as DTV protocol varies from regions, what they did was to put a tuner for their region as to finish the final assembly. As I can see, their production line was quite loose, not decent enough for quality production.
Has a repair technician all i can say is: that power supply is really tiny. I dont know how well it may support that monstruous screen. Hope it last until the end of factory guarantee. 😅

i have before in the early 90s TCL TV 29 inch it was such amazing TV wide screen TV the sound really good with affordable prices.

Just ordered my 43" TCL about an hour ago. Replacing a 40" 720p Sharp.

We have one of these TCL 4K smart TV. Excellent TV and HDMI audio interface with soundbar is flawless.
