Good to see a video! The 7 year old was awesome! My son is 7 and looking to get his first real mountain bike. I would love to get him a road bike but scared the crap out of him with riding on the road when he was little telling him how dangerous cars are...

I feel for you, mate. The filming afterwards is one thing, but as you say, the adrenaline carries you through, Editing it afterwards, though? Sitting three feet back from the laptop with your plaster-clad arms? Fair play. That's proper commitment. Or lunacy. Or both. Good luck, heal quickly, and deal with it all the best you can. yo man, found your videos by accident not long ago, probably just around the time you were headed to brooklyn. been enjoying your stuff, great production quality and just the love of cycling really shines thru. actually noticed myself bothering to cycle to work more often than i had been doing in a while, and get more actual enjoyment out of it instead of thinking of it just as 'not as bad as getting on london public transport and might save a few quid' - so thanks for that.
felt really sorry to hear about ur crash and actually remember being fearful something like that probably happened when there was no video forthcoming for a few days right after your "im racing tomorrow" video (after which i googled what a "red hook crit" even is and said to myself holy shit that looks dangerous). found it odd that i found myself 'worrying' about someone i don't actually know and have never met who doesn't know me but there u go - apparently your videos are endearing too (no homo)

So sorry to hear of your crash Francis! I crashed last Tuesday in LA off my mountain bike. Broke my collarbone, shoulder blade and two (fucking) ribs! I go back in to hospital today to get the staples out from my collarbone surgery. Good times! Heal well my man!

Coming back to this video, I realize that it's James, Noah will never get the chance to race Red Hook if he wanted to and the guy who caused your crash is from Vélo Cartel, a very cool, The Service Course style shop in my hometown of Québec City.
I just started watching your video's. And I really enjoy the vibe of the video's and the fixed gear racing. You guys take the cycling sport to a hole new level, just making it a part of your lives rater then to be the best at it. I really like that vibe and you made my hyped about fixie aswell. So keep it up. Have a speedy recovery!

Speedy recovery. Honestly, Bardet is now one of my favorite riders to watch after the spring classics this year. He was up there in a lot of tough races. What was he doing at Red hook?
Fractures suck, I've had a few myself but you're a trooper and you'll be back on the bike sooner then later.

We had a nice chat with the Team Sky kid too; did not see your chute tho (happily). Was a great day (until it wasn’t with the rain..) course was maybe too fast but made for exciting racing. So you’re an official FG crit guy now, wear the scars with pride and get back on that horse ASAP (expecting some zwift blogs to follow...)

Holy fuck, Romain Bardet?! Mate, still so sorry for your crash, I hope you are without residual pain by now and are at least able to heal in a bit of comfort! I'm sure that I speak for all when I say we miss you but damn, get well, get healthy, get stoked to get back on a bike and take your time with it! Health is more important than us online groupies ;) And say hi to all the legends: The walrus, Lawrence, James, Jimmi, George and the rest of the gang!

...I think that you got caught the PMA viruse from Keira and nothing can hold you back now. I'm from Canadia and a ice hockey player (Connor Mcdavid) had a bad crash and broke his shoulder but you know what he came back and won two scoring titles. With the PMA viruse nothing' can hold you back.
