- In this intense episode of MasterChef Australia, the competition heats up as contestants face their first challenge in the MasterChef kitchen. Seriously!!!!!! Like seriously? Competing against a dish with someone who has been cooking it for years vs someone who is cooking for it for 1st tym! Sam did an awesome job.
I'm sure sam is a great cook, but as if he has a chance against a chef with 20 or so years of experience, cooking the said chef's own signature dish.
I think it's about learning and motivation. The chef helped him a lot as well.
Me trying to pronounce the chef's signature dish is like Joey from friends trying to speak French..La Bloo Blaa Blay... :(
21:03 that was so obvious. It wasn't a fair competition but its usually like this. Prize was pointless too. If it was without such prize it would have been better. Sam did awesome job. He also learned a lot during this challenge. Of course it was exciting that he got to cook against the chef of 20 years experience. Guy leaves his wife straight after wedding to take part in the biggest cooking competition in the world. Oh wow.

Picking a dish both would see as a challenge, would have been really exciting to see.

It would have been exciting to see but the reward for winning wouldn't be fitting to that sort of challenge. To be sent directly into finals week that early shouldn't even be possible in my opinion, therefore it should only be possible by completing an "impossible task".
I dont mind. Just want sam to lose. 😆

Not even ciose. Trying to prop up the drama like there was chance manu wasnt going to score atleast 20/30. Sam was simply outclassed.

Man, I feel like compared to other Masterchef shows, Australia really isn't up to par. No hate, it's just my opinion. It really is a bunch of homecooks with no one standing out. The judges praise the simplest things, and put through to the next round people who would have been kicked immediately on Canada, US or France. If that is the best of 7000, man I wonder about the rest.
This is old MasterChef Australia season. It was aired in 2009 before USA, Canada and France. Look at season 11/12. It's so much better
