What Chris fails to mention is that he screamed so loud on the ejector death hill that he scared the little kid in front of us almost to the point of tears. But yeah, this thing is AWESOME.

I was one of the last riders of the Pippin at its original location. Libertyland's final operating day was a private event for FedEx employees and their families. My family stayed until close, and we got in line only a few minutes before they put the chain up at the front of the queue. I was on the last occupied train.

I was 5 years old. I rode with my uncle in the last car buzz bar only. Second coaster I rode was Revolution at Libertyland. I rode space mountain the same year at 'Disney World'. I now live in the Cleveland area, living the life of a rollercoaster enthusiast.

Grew up with the Zippin Pippin at Libertyland and the Mid-South Fair in Memphis. It was my first coaster around the age of 8. It felt like I was going to fly out of the car on every hill! There was a huge tree branch that they did not trim back in Memphis at the bottom of the first hill. You thought you were going to be decapitated. We would marathon the ride after Memphis Tiger football games during the fair. Miss the Pippin and those days so much! Thanks for the review.

Just did 7 rides on this. For me it is 100% a front row ride. The firs drop & turn do nothing, but then the 3 camelbacks give a sharp and strong flojecter pops that transition into floater air. Then on the final turnaround you get an ejector pop and very sustained and abrupt laterals at the same time. Then the hill before the death hill give sweet laterals. Then the death hill is insane. It is VERY strong in the front. Finally the last hill gives nice floater, then you get fun laterals and floater while popping into the breaks.

First coaster I ever road! Born and raised in Memphis TN and I used to ride this all day nonstop as a kid. It was so sad when libertyland closed and this staple of the area was moved and forgotten. I remember it as such a great and thrilling ride, and this video just confirmed one of my fondest childhood memories. Believe me it was even better back in the day with libertylands janky ass lap bars that in no way could secure a child into the seat and no seatbelts as well. Used to absolutely fly. This video made my week thank you

Being a former Wisconsinite, I have been to Bay Beach multiple times. Zippin Pippin was one of my first roller coasters and I love the airtime on that thing. Wisconsin truly has some of the best wooden roller coasters that aren’t talked about a lot. I think Wisconsin is one of those hidden treasures. Too bad the took out Avalanche/Hellcat, the S&S woodie in Wisconsin Dells. I never got around to it but heard it was intense.

I have to make another comment here because I am from Green Bay and I rode this when it opened about 6 times, mostly in the front just like the roller coaster videos! AND I LOVED IT EVERY TIME! I would come out smiling like the cheshire cat because it was so damn good! One of my mom's co-workers is a coaster fanatic and idk if it's just hometown bias but she rides that coaster every single day and it's her all time favorite!
I laugh a little how you mention the death hill, because I don't like it! I'm a big dude, close to 300lbs. and the seatbelts are tight and that hill leaves a mark! it hurts!
Other than that I wish I could come back again and again, but life happens fast, lets just say that. The Zippin Pippin is an amazing ride, it's not rough, it's a cool 25mph all ride, the first drop is amazing, and I can't thank you enough for visiting!
Also didn't know the Giant Wheel opened! I had heard one was coming but didn't know when it would open! So that was cool to see! There's also another mini amusement park across the street from Bay Beach called Fort Fun, it's got a mini golf course, paint ball targets, batting cages, bumper boats, and Go Carts, pretty neat place! Also not far from Bay Beach is the wildlife sanctuary, which is sort of a zoo meant for domestic animals in need of a home/aid/repopulation, another awesome place with an educational center.
The big white building is the original city hall, it's been converted to be a food court and arcade!

This is my home park, and I’ve been on this coaster more than any other coaster in the world. This is definitely a back row coaster, as the airtime is fantastic. I’m also glad you mentioned the ejector death hill. Sometimes it’s so strong it hurts your legs. Also, Little Ammericka’s Mad Mouse is the world’s greatest wild mouse. No restraints and some crazy ejector at the end.

Fantastic Critique on my local coaster. Pippin has a reputation for causing sore thighs after 4 rides in the back from the ejector death hill. The death hill is the single reason why you often see people bracing for it about 2 hills in advance knowing it’s power.

It shimmys side to side because the original did. It has an artificial clack noise on the lift hill because that’s how it originally sounded.
The first turn after the lift hill...we were always convinced it was going to come off the track and shoot us into the parking lot of the MidSouth Coliseum. Love that ride.

I was up in Green Bay for the Green Bay Fringe Festival this past weekend and took some time to ride this woodie. I did get a front row ride, and the force that you get being pushed by the rest of the train is incredible. I don't think the floater airtime is as good as in the back, but I didn't care as I felt like I was riding on the cow catcher of a fast train. And that Death Drop is no joke. I wasn't aware of it the first time I rode it, and it is so good.
Also, need to mention that they did raise the price from 4 tickets to 6, but the tickets are still 25 cents a piece so it's still a killer deal.

Always the back. The gut punch hill near the end is the best and then the brakes kick in.

If you like underrated wooden coasters that have insane moments that no one talks about, definitely make the 3 hour drive from Carowinds to Myrtle Beach to ride Swamp Fox at Family Kingdom. No joke - it's the forgotten buzz bar woodie in the world that sort of completes the North American trifecta of insane buzz bar woodies. Canobie Coaster did a really good video review on it if you want to hear about it.

Rode this last week, can confirm the great airtime! I am also here to say that the front was better than the back! That death hill is painful it is soo strong (which I like) and there are plenty of other airtime moments. After doing it in the front and back I decided to have my 3rd ride in the front as it was that good!

A very timely upload for me. I literally rode Zippin Pippin for the first time today. Ate a patty melt at that canteen/grill too. Anyway, I got rides in the back, in 1:3, and in row 11. You chose wisely. Back had the great airtime, row 11 had lengthy amounts of floater, front wasn't much to write home about.

It's a shame Elvis didn't have 23 guests because if he did it'd be Zippin Pippin'd be at full capacity and have the greatest momentum and speed. I love your enthusiasm for this; the layout looks like 1str rate classic straight airtime. I can't blame you for not wanting to give up another back seat ride; if I only had two in the back and it's as good as you say it is; I wouldn't either. Glad to see you're getting out and having fun this year; My most likely hope is for 2020 is Canada Wonderland due to the Virus (or I'd go to Great Adventure but Jersey Devil isn't open yet and I don't want to take risks with the Virus, even though I have my 1st Six Flags pass I got at SFMM in November). As of now my last coaster was the back seat Ghost Rider at Knott's almost 8 months ago. Thanks for this awesome video and stay safe!

Nice! I rode this in the summer of 2018, and while I really enjoyed it, I definitely didn’t have your “spectacular” experience! I rode it front and back - definitely preferred the back.
Most notable for me was a violent pothole at the crest of the last (or one of the last) hills. It LITERALLY felt as if the train had derailed. I had never experienced anything like it on any coaster before (and never have since), and I was in shock. I rode it again and was amazed that I had the same experience in the same spot. I can’t exaggerate how jarringly violent this moment was - not painful, just stunning and scary. It didn’t seem to me that any coaster could possibly keep operating when it was doing that every round. It felt as if the train instantaneously dropped five feet, and there was the sound of a high-speed car crash. I’m wondering now if this insanely jarring pothole got a bit of retracking and it became your amazing moment of airtime.

Growing up in Memphis, I got to ride it yearly as a kid. I still remember the ejector death hill, and how bruised my legs felt like they were going to be by the next morning! *(ROTFLOL!)* If the first drop doesn't get you screaming, that one surely does, cause it's so shockingly good. LOL! Your video definitely makes me want to take a trip to ride it again! LOL! 🥰 Thx for the video, and covering all the back story to the ride.

Nice to see some one who like my childhood roller coaster and your soo right the last drop is definitely a shocker but you should have rode it a couple of years ago when the breaks at the end were like running into a wall of bricks it was so funny as everyone all made a ACH! As the breaks kick in 😂

Love your videos. I have Ridden Zippin Pippin ( I have family we visit in Neenah Wisconsin about an Hour South which allowed us to ride this last year and go to Indiana Beach this year ), Honestly looking at the coaster I thought we wasted our time going to the park. ( also went to a railroad musuem to, worth it ). But I found myself going back over and over again and buying more tickets to the point where I whipped out a 20, and used up every single one of those tickets.

This park is great! Yes, that death hill is like a slap in your lap with a 2 by 4! I was there on July 4th and chose row 3, which is the wildest ride! If you go back, try it! Also, Scat is insanity! Best spinning flat! Great review!

@@AirtimeThrills I'd say it's because it's an older model that reflects the original design intentions of a wild mouse, and the only restraint it has are side railings you're asked to hold onto. I think its simple mechanics give the coaster lots of charm

I really like this ride, but the last 2 hills into the brake run hurt SO BAD! If you don’t brace yourself, you’ll get launched into the lap bar lmao. I do wish the park was bigger. It’s actually pretty nice

I did this July 1st in the front row and my GOD! The air time was insane! With being in the front of the train felt like I was being pushed and lift out my seat by the hand of GOD! This woodie is my number #1. Hands down a front row ride. Even though the turns feel like death I’d ride this 24/7 btw I freakin love your Chanel. Been a fan and supporter since day one!

Just rode this today 2 times, and got LROTNOZP. First ride was back row and it was outstanding, did feel the little bit of the train shuffling side to side on the turnaround. On the last train of the night, the back row was taken, so we took 2nd to back row. And it had all of that ejector, but those turnarounds were definitely better not being on a wheel seat. Definitely think it's an underrated coaster to say the least! 😄😎

I rode in the front back and middle. Front there was airtime leveling out from the inclines from the valleys. But I thought the front was rather boring. Middle was ok. Back great airtime. I didn't notice that ejector death hill... But I did notice the painful topping out just before the end of the course.

EDIT: Also slammed my foot into the car on the EJECTOR DEATH HILL, so that kinda hurt

Bay Beach is a great little park and this is a really fantastic ride (just watch your seatbelt buckle on that final brake run, ow). There's also a free nature center and wildlife sanctuary just down the road that has some hiking trails and a wildlife rehab center with a whole bunch of animal exhibits, and if you combine that with Bay Beach you've got a pretty great cheap summer day.
