    i learned all my cantonese from Guangdong province, and travelled to HK and used it, was so cool. But im still learning, im not an expert to tell accent differences yet, but is there any major difference between cantonese in guangdong (local guangdong people say it originated here and are extremely proud of cantonese) and the cantonese in HK?

      There may be accent differences, but from my experience, not much that I an think of

    Wow.....Hello is the english format for hello? Really bro? Thanks!!!! I was always wondering about it.

      You bet! Of course there are variations to hello, but this is the most common one

    how about "why " for Hello? I hear people say it on the phone... :)

    • @MikeTutor
      @MikeTutor  10 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      iYsabelle yes "wai" is the proper form of "hello" in cantonese when you start a phone conversation. This is not found in english, but this form of hello found exclusively in phone conversation can also be found in mandarin (wei) or in japanese (moshi moshi) etc.

    • @MikeTutor
      @MikeTutor  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      what do you respond to "How are you?". You can simply say hou5 hou5 as very good but it can be much more complex as well

    and how to say I don't know in cantonese in like talking..? is it M sic or M tsi?

    • @MikeTutor
      @MikeTutor  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      iYsabelle both of them is actually correct. They meant the same thing

    • @MikeTutor
      @MikeTutor  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      MikeTutor m sic is more related to if you don't know how to do something (such as if you want to say i don't know how to cook) and m tsi is more of i don't know with regards to information.

    • @dan339dan
      @dan339dan 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      m-sic means "I don't understand".
      m-tsi means "I don't know".
