Depending on who you do in the 101 depends on where you put your first aid packet. I do 502nd and the majority of guys had it in the rear accompanied with there para first aid packet. So really depends on who you do. If you do 502 def put in in the rear for Normandy

Ah thanks for the info. I do have one of them para first aid packets I could add to the back to then.
I did end up having my first aid pouch at the back :D

@@Truffle1947 all paratroopers where issued a para first aid packet so definitely add one. Depending on what the time frame is depends on where it should/could be placed

@truffleslivinghistory3417 I'd carry at the front. I have a belt from ww1 configured to the front and a ww2 belt configured to the back the side. This was the original, don't listen to the farb police

pretty good airborne rig setup. there was no real regulation as to the placement of items (right or left, side or back) it was mostly where it worked for you, so having the med pouch on the back is fine. shoulder pads came in a variety of colors, mostly whatever was available as this was another rigger item for the airborne made from scrapes of felt padding, also these pads generally weren't used after D-day. if you are going to use the rigger pouches in place of the standard cartridge belt for the M1, paratroopers carried a minimum of four (for a total of 16 clips). The one thing I see you are missing is the airborne first aid kit, tied where ever it would fit, usually on the suspenders or helmet net, but I have seen them other places too. these were carried throughout the war in Europe, from D-day up to VE day.

Hi buddy. I do have the airborne first aid kit but decided not to use it as I wanted my web gear to be set up not as a pre jump it has everything still webbing but more of a few days into combat where stuff has been used sort of thing.
I had to go with 2 riggers in the end as as show in the video when I put on the third it just does not really fit. I have seen photos of webbing where there is only a couple of riggers on. I do not really know what else I can do to fit my third pouch on without it making everything else all bunched up to tight.

@@Truffle1947 got it, makes sense for an impression a few days or weeks after D-day. You could probably move the canteen and E-tool one hole over, closer to the med pouch in the center to get the extra room for two additional rigger pouches. Unfortunately when you use the rigger pouches, it does tend to look kinda bunched up, but that is accurate as paratroopers (especially on D-day) wanted to carry as much ammo as possible, besides using bandoliers. two pouches would not be enough. that;s just my input for historical accuracy, but do what works best for you. good video anyways, very informative.

@timebaby3 some guys only had 1 rigger pouch, gotta remember reenactment is in limited numbers over a million soldiers were deployed so every possibility possible occurred including his exact rig

Not completely. I do have a few photos of paratroopers wearing glasses. But certainly very uncommon.

Nice job - (just a suggestion) instead of clipping the far straps of the suspenders to the pistol belt, clip these to the bottom rings of your musette bag - this was to hold down the bag and stop it from moving while also giving you a little more real estate on the belt to add extra clip pouches. Nice job on the explanation though. Some musettes were also worn on the front depending on the troopers preference. Thanks.

Yes that is how I originally used to do it.
I changed to this way after seeing some pictures and because it allows you to throw the back over to your front to access it while wearing it 😁
