I have 2 weeks off for vacation, so I’ve been marathoning your videos and checking out your past adventures. This was a cool video, and it’s priceless to get stories like this from your family. Hang onto it dearly. My grandparents have passed, and I’d give anything to sit and talk to them about family history. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have more Jordan the Lion videos to watch. Sorry for commenting so much lately 😬
What a great person your Grandpa is. Please say hello and wish him a happy new year. Happy new year to you and Jah and everyone in your Family, I look forward to many more Grandpa stories.
Fantastic. You are so lucky to have family roots to look back on. I grew up with only a grandfather who was a man of few words. My father was the same way. I have no idea of my past relatives and what part they played in my being here today. What an adventure! Thanks Jordan! 💕
This was a fun vlog! What great family history you have! In Darke County we also had a small black community called Longtown. It is located off of 36 west. I didn't know anything about it until I was in high school and a classmate married a guy whose parents lived there. I found out later my mother had an aunt that lived there. Loved seeing the Carillon park bells. Thank you Jordan!
Your Ohio vlogs have been really interesting -- even for a Hoosier. As a guy who lost all of his grandparents, I urge you to return home as often as possible. Bank the time and stories grandpa has to share while you can. Cheers to your sister for finding that special someone.
Jordan you're so lucky to have a grandpa and it's so nice to see you spending precious moments with him, learn all you can from him. And that Jahster, well what can I say, he's the co-star of every vlog. Love the old windows in the old schoolhouse it would let is so much natural light. I'm so glad I never had to live in or deal segregation as I've had friends from many a diverse backgrounds. Wow Forrest lived to 104 that's a milestone-your whole family has longevity-long live Jordan and Jah!
Too bad that old school house can’t be preserved somehow. Jah looked all bundled up & ready to go out too. Glad you were able to spend time with your sweet, talented grandpa & family. I had no idea Stephanie Powers was a co pilot. She’s one of my favorite TV actors and Bob Hope a legend! Your uncle sounds like a cool 😎 guy. Thanks for taking us along with this vlog. ❤️🙏🏻
We have a place in Winnipeg at the Forks just like the Spaghetti Warehouse called "The Old Spaghetti Factory" it has all the old stuff right down to the Tiffany's and the dishes are to die for the price even includes desert. Hope you had a great time and supper
Yes, my dog cannot handle a lot of either. I give him a tablespoon or so once every 10 days or so. He weighs 10 pound. Your Grandpa and you have so much in common. We can tell you both think the world about one another. Love and family is everything. You and your Grandpa working together is terrific. 1847 building is great! Cannot believe all the history of sport legends and Wright Brothers all there in your backyard! And now you.! Wow, what a cool story about Kermit Cress!
I know this is an earlier video of yours , but I have been binge watching you videos this past month ! If you have the time would love to get the recipe for grandpa’s pork and sauerkraut. Really have enjoyed your videos, going through a rough patch right now and missing my mom and dad who both died unexpectedly within months of each other at the end of 2020 and beginning of 2021. Really hits home with me how much you love and respect your grandpa and family.
Hi, Jah 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾 he’s so cute in his coat! 1847 wow, that's an old building. Jordan you have some Fascinating family 👪 stories. 👍🏻 cool Nativity scenes wow 😮 yep kinda creepy....💀. Thanks, Jordan 🦁
The quilt on the building at one point used to be a symbol that they were on a list of historical places. I can't remember the name of it. I saw a documentary about it. People would sign up to get the list and travel the U.S. visiting these places.
Hearing about some of your family history has been a real treat, it's wonderful that you get to vlog these moments and times as a keepsake for yourself :) I want to wish you a very happy New Year to you and your family, keep safe and keep warm! It's freezing here in Toronto and I'm sure it's pretty bad in Ohio as well .. Brrrrrr!
What a wonderful tour. So much fascinating history from a pre-civil war school to a spooky castle. Who knew Dayton was so interesting. Your grandfather is awesome. He sounded so proud of you when you were looking at the nativities. So cute!
Interesting as always. The picture of Jacob Young reminds me of the great atonal Jazz pianist, band leader and composer Thelonious Monk (my personal all time favorite Jazz artist, well, next to Miles Davis, Charlie Mingus and Bob Wills, leader of the Texas Playboys). Loving the trip to Ohio…
Jordan I grew up in Decatur, Illinois which is the birth place of the Chicago Bears. They were known for one season as the Decatur Staleys because the factory that is still around today owned the Bears. Then George Halas purchased the team I believe for $1000 and moved them up to Chicago and that is when George Halas changed the name to the Chicago Bears. The team colors comes from the University of Illinois where George Halas attended college and the Fighting ILLINI's colors are Navy blue and orange which became the colors for the Chicago Bears. I am a major Bears fan!
So kool hearing ur family en ur home town history with ur grandads presence. ( Hi Jah) Neato with the ice all over the ground too. The huge light tree ...was oh yeh.. with the inside view lookn up. Frankenstein location yep gotta b dark 4 that one.
John Patterson was the founder of NCR, the National Cash Register Company in Dayton which is now defunct. Have you ever thought to vlog the Waynesville and Harveysburg area south of Dayton which is very historical? the first black school in Ohio is in Harveysburg dating from 1833. Harveysburg was also a big hub on the Underground Railroad.
I love these videos of your family and home state. The members in this one all seem to have lived 90+yrs and full and amazing lives! My grandpa worked for Piedmont Airlines and would always joke he was going to trade my grandma (in her 40's when I was a kid) in for 2 twenties waka wocka lol! :-P I love the snow and you can really further appreciate your camera's quality and resolution. :)
Great vlog, Jordan. In Lancaster County, PA, they have Pork and Sauerkraut as a traditional meal on New Year's Day. Pretty cool that your grandpa is making it for you!!
Another great vlog and another new thing about my hometown that i didn't know! Frankenstein tower was s new for me. I haven't been to Carillon park or spaghetti warehouse in years!

Sorry, I must have missed him. I know you've talked about him a lot this week, and in the past, but I didn't see him in this video. I just thought it would have been nice to see him on camera. I don't know how I missed him in all the videos. I think it's great that you have such a nice relationship with him. I was close to my grandparents too. Nice to see you visiting your home town and family.

Jordan, have you done a vlog on Ramon Navarro? I did not find one. I know you like the silent film stars. Thanks again for taking the time to do your wonderful vlogs.
Hi Jordan! Question: It looks like there is a second floor to that old schoolhouse you were showing us. Although the means of getting up into it are not immediately evident, I was wondering whether you knew or not if there was anything up there? Just curious. Also, thanks for taking the time to share stories about your family. :)
You must have been freezing out there, That’s Awesome He lived to 104, I bet he was full of knowledge, Sad he had to go through the Holocaust 😢😢 Your Uncle Kermit was very fascinating Jah looks so cute in his coat, another great Video. Stay Warm!!!
Who is in the picture behind you in the beginning of the video? I wasn't sure if it was you or your mom or dad? But it looks like a photo from the early 1980's.
This whole video, from your family's fascinating history, to the Nativity Museum was so great!!!
What a great story teller you are, Jordan, and what a colourful family history you have! Love it all...great vlog..thanks again.
