Welcome to the Hyundai family. I've had mine about 3 years with NO issues, and am pleasantly surprised every single time I run it. Seems Mike is pretty happy with his too. Congrats on a great decision.
Hi Chris & Geoff, Key moments in this video, 1-Geoff ducking under the counterweight 6:14, I swear I heard several OSHA Inspectors FALL OVER... 2- 7:09 "Volvo dropped the ball"! 16:44, you named it Brutus, PERFECT! 32:11 "Take notes Mikey"... DP does run a dirty machine! Overall, nice addition to the fleet! Good Luck with it!
Didn't get an idea of how big the machine was at the dealers, but seeing it arrive on that transporter really brought it home. Can't wait to see the projects that are lined up for it. 👍
The moment has arrived. Beautiful machine. Doing a little dance on the dam. Drives good not tearing up the road. They sent it empty? but services everything now that was a plus. Thanks for the aerial views really shows how big this machine is and the Semi that delivered. See you tomorrow. Congratulations Chris. Well deserved.
I'm so happy for your purchase. It's going to be fun watching you put this beast through her paces. Thanks for sharing your fun, your joy, and your future with us all, Chris.
Right into it with the new machine. Looks good Chris. As far as people saying Volvo dropped the ball, I don't recall you saying you were looking for a new machine, as in brand new. You had also mentioned that there wasn't any used Volvo stock in the price range you were going for. That's not anyone dropping a ball, that's simple lack of supply, probably because people who buy Volvo tend to keep their Volvo machines. Therefore little to no units available. This Hyundai looks good, sounds good, and looks to have the digging power you need. Congratulations.
Congrats Chris, Been watching about 2 years now. I live out west, my brother and his son are in the general engineering contracting business, and have been for 30 years...I know your family has a history in this work. Guys who can run the machines with an economy of motion and take such pride in their work...in every detail...are few and far between. You are one of them. Happy for you.
Congratulations on the purchase Chris. Considering the size of your audience and channel, Hyundai should add something like an extended warranty and support.
Taking bets on how long it is before Chris actually decides he wants a thumb on the new machine. DP would be proud! Awesome purchase Chris, enjoying the videos!!
Congratulations on your new purchase, I think it’s going to be a game changer. I’ve been patiently waiting for your new excavator to show up and see how much dirt you can move with it. It may use more fuel but it makes up for it in the amount of dirt moved and time saved. It would’ve taken you a lot longer to dig that pit with your 220. This new excavator could probably keep two haul trucks busy. I think Volvo made a mistake by not making you a good deal on one of their excavators. I hope to see this 330 on a clearing job soon. I bet it could just push over most trees without digging around them.
Several days I go because I knew which excavator Chris bought and its list price I looked up every 2019 Hyundai HX 330L there was for sale in NA and found Chris got the best price in the country given the hours and options. Some machines with more than twice the hours were listed at 220K, but Chris paid many tens of thousands less than that. The only machine cheaper and with similar hours is one in St Louis, but it doesn't have a bucket and was used as a fleet rental.
The fleet grows! It arrived from Pennsylvania without the first bug on the counterweight and looking brand new! I hope it came with a key, as your Volvo key might cause an issue. The truck driver didn't run over Jeff's Bougainvillea either! If the name is "Brutus," I'm going to have to grin and bear it: Michigan Alum here. GO BLUE!
Ha ha ,at least Chris actually does it , different thinking aye . Scratched up and worn machines give the impression that they are not cared for ,that tells much about who owns them ,that's a thing that covers many industries and businesses and life in general ,we don't need to be Perfect ,just wise .
When you were looking at the machines, I had the distinct feeling it'd be the Hyundai based on how much time you spent showing off all the features you really liked (like the separate coolers). Great addition!
When Chris was comparing the thing that stood out to me was his mention a time or two about the other big boy's price and his budget. Chris liked the other machine a lot but showed good financial discipline. Says a lot for his business sense.
Congrats on the new tool--that's a big freaking machine. Gonna be a bit strange not seeing you in a Volvo all the time--but if I remember correctly, some of your much older vids had a Hyundai too, so maybe just a return to your roots.
Congrats Chris..nice looking machine...another hard working piece for the fleet..all the work you've done so far at Bealy Good farm looks awsome...keep up the great work
Definitely had me thinking you had the Kobelco! Someone reported it was gone from the website of the place you bought it from. Between that and no DEF, and seeming to be more stable. Not disappointed though, I hope you're happy with this rig and it doesn't let you down.
Congratulations Chris! I look forward seeing many new videos with this machine. I wish you many good jobs and have much fun with. Tom from Northern Germany
Nice, my assumption was that you would chose the Hyundai. Congrats Chris. Will definitely fill in on those larger projects that you seem to be taking more these days. I feel for you on the fuel. Just put 280 gallons of diesel in my boat. Boat holds 500 gallons. Luckily this is only a yearly think instead of daily like your equipment. Thanks for sharing.
For everyone saying Volvo dropped the ball on this, they did. But Chris says in the video he shopped around for the best price and lowest hours for the size he wanted. He went to Volvo first and they had no used inventory. It’s not completely their fault. Second thing, this is his second Hyundai machine. He had an orange 200ish before he bought his first used Volvo 220. He really liked that machine so it made sense to go with his second choice for the money on these big machines, the Hyundai. Plus, a lot of people have had good experience with Hyundai, like Mike from Dirt Perfect. Edit: His first machine that was orange was HITACHI not HYUNDAI. Ones Japanese and this one is Korean, so not even related, my bad
Quite! Moreover, he needed the big machine soon, couldn't wait for Volvo. And yes, that orange Hyundai didn't leave /that/ long ago. It coexisted with the first 220 for some time.
Any brand in the hands of THIS operator would be a resounding recommendation. Chris can make these hydraulic wonders sit up and bark! And yes, can’t wait to enjoy the new vids!
Capacity os right at double the 220. Each will have their niche and specialty. Anxious to watch mow a few trees! Congrats, may it be a good rig for you!
Congrats on the new machine. Nice choice and it sure is a clean well kept machine. Also kudos on a great dealer. The service and filters add up to many hundreds and it was great they did it. Look forward to seeing all the equipment in action.
I can finally get a full night's sleep tonight - the suspense was killing me!!! 😊 Congrats on the new purchase and thank you for explaining the decision making process. From your initial video, I was betting on the Kobelco machine as your choice. Then after many days passed I began to think maybe Volvo came to the party with a machine that fit your needs and budget. I even sent a note to Clint at C&C about your shopping needs, he said you guys had talked but he wasn't able to help you at this time. Best of luck with the Hyundai - looking forward to many more videos on this one on the job!!
WOW!!! I think I got the same goosebumps as you when I saw the rig pulling in! CONGRATULATIONS Chris. Couldn’t wait to see which machine you bought but my money was on the Hyundai! Just started the video. Will be back at the end.
Congrats Chris on your bigger machine!! May it give you the service satisfaction you expect from it! Hope you are giving her a name as well I am a pensioner from South Africa and I watch your videos every night before I go to sleep Keep up the good work Good Luck!!
Many congrats, Chris! A big machine, the right size and price. We'll just enjoy watching and learning from your professional approach and abilities. Be well and be safe!

I do know that when one company doesn’t feel like the juice is worth the squeeze there’s another one right behind it willing to take that opportunity. It matters and it makes a difference. Marketing is king and it can make you or break you. Ask Bud light…
DP loves his and I've been impressed with how Hyundai builds their machines. I can't help but think with only 1600 hours you're going to have years of nearly trouble free moneymaking use. I know it's not your preferred brand but, you're more than good enough operator to quickly master it and maybe even like it. Happy for you.
Congrats and outstanding video as always . And thanks for telling us how much it would cost to " upgrade " the system . I really had no idea how much the accessories would cost and was blown away at the cost .
Honestly Hyundai is probably a bit of a sleeping giant in the heavy equipment business. Look at their cars in 2000 versus now it’s a night and day difference. It used to be embarrassing to be caught in a Hyundai, now we are at the point where they get a lot of praise from the media and most of their owners love them. They don’t have the legacy of CAT, Deere or any number of others but damn if they don’t bust their butts and do their homework. Hyundai Heavy Industries is the worlds largest shipbuilder, if they can build boats, submarines and drill rigs no doubt they can figure out how to build an excavator.
Man Chris your getting close to Andrew Camarata's fleet size now lol But I'm happy for you man you work very hard you work long hours, weekends your always doing something if not out making money your working on your farm. So no one can say you don't deserve what you've got I admire you for your drive n your professionalism it's easy to see you take a lot of pride in your work I look forward to your videos I've learned a lot watching you n enjoy your channel thanks for sharing your days with us and I hope the new machine works well for you
Camarata's fleet is made of the things Chris talks about at auctions , lol . Good thing Andrew can fix stuff . He spends 1/3 of the time fixing his equipment , 1/3 of the time breaking his equipment , and , 1/3 of the time tracking down Blue .
@@kaboom4679Andrew got a dump truck out of commission that needs fixing. Probably cost $35 K and needs $10-15K to fix. Poor Sam bout got whacked having to jump off the roller when brakes went out. He must have extra $ cause he bought a better dump truck ...I bet $80K. Damn dangerous running broken equipment that weighs 20-30 tons. He's had Several close calls🤔🤔
Well, while I think that the Kobelco would have been the stronger of the two machines for the intended use case, it was also a good bit more expensive. The budget dictates the viable option in most cases, and this machine was the best fit for Chris at this time. There are several nice features about this Hyundai. The filter service is easy to access and the separate hydraulic cooler is a very nice feature. And having a the reliability of a Cummins engine as a power plant provides a little bit of a stress relief. And from what Chris said in the video it looks like it might be pretty economical to run helping reduce the TCO. The machine looks really good and fits well with the rest of the fleet. Some say that Volvo dropped the ball; well maybe. I doubt that this one instance of Volvo not being able to come up with a machine that meets his needs in this short of a time will put the slightest dent in how Chris feels about Volvo. A 380 sized Volvo machine would have been significantly more money, cost more to operate and move from job to job. Volvo will still get plenty of praise from Chris, and, I'm sure that when he wants another machine he will be contacting them first and still be the brand he recommends. Pretty much all of letsdig18 videos will be showing Volvo in them so I doubt there will be much negative impact for them. No manufacture makes the best machine for all situations. If they did, we'd all be running the same brand. It's always a good idea to have different brands of machines and tools to work with in case one brand starts having supply chain issues for parts or service, you have another brand to fall back on to get the work done. The bottom line is that the value of a particular tool or machine lies in the eyes of the purchaser. This machine's use case and budget dictated the Hyundai for Chris. As long as it fits his requirements, it was a good purchase. Looking forward to seeing it used on the heavy dirt moving jobs and stumping.
Congrats on your new toy! She looks pretty clean for her age! Yes.... she looks a little larger! I'm sure, the way you take care of you equipment..... she'll last many years!
Hey Chris !! """CONGRATS"" on another piece to your Co. !!!!! Check the manufactures label on the machine as it might have been built in Norcross ,, Ga. ??? Sure ain't the ""BEAST 550 "" ,,but looks like it will get the job done with 6 buckets vs 11 buckets with the 220 !!! Saving time & $$$$$$ along the way !!!! 🙂🙃😉👍👍👍👍👍
@BAMA853that's what he did with the Hitachi he bought the volvo and sold the Hitachi he would use it for some time and he would consider the volvo probably in the future
So proud of you Chris love it an you work so hard for what you have got always follow your dreams an never give up be safe in it an you look so tiny in that big thing just some happy digging enjoy your new toy love it
Congrats Chris, you’ve come a long way in the years (easily a decade) that I’ve watched your videos. I have to say though that early video telling stories with Charlie cracks me up still, especially the clip board lady one 😂
I just watched the one where they were at the auctions 13 years ago and Charlie broke the excavator and they were hanging out in the vehicle in the rain.. so funny!
It's been fun to watch your company grow and its due only to your hard work. I am surprise with all the free advertising you have done for Volvo that someone higher up did not make you a deal.
Glad you got your new beast at last Chris. I did think this one made the most sense out of the two you showed us and demoed, and for the reasons I guessed at when you showed us. I hope you have many happy years ahead with it. As for Volvo not being on the ball this time, it does seem that the commercial world not working quite right just now, I was looking to buy something that is really not that ambitious or challenging to ask for; I had to change plan and not go with Amazon as they were making a proper meal out of having any stock and deciding when they could "perhaps" ship it. So I took the whole order off them and have gone with a small independent specialist. I'll not be back for those sort of items in future, if the new guy gets it done right the business is his in future. The big players could use a shake up I guess. Strange times indeed. Be well. 😉
Come on Volvo. If ever there was a grass roots brand ambassador, this is the one to keep in your machine. Step up and deliver him one and just take his as a trad-in
@@johnrobichaud130 He went to Volvo first and they had nearly nothing available and would not move on what was with in the hours and budget. It was answered on a earlier video
What's really astonishing is how quickly everyone is willing to throw shade at Volvo... do people actually believe that Chris or volvo wouldn't have made it work, if it was at all feasible?? He needed an inexpensive, low cost machine, that he would use a fraction of the year, and that's exactly what he got. When the time comes that a machine that size is a more profit making necessity, I'm sure he will upgrade to what is the most sensible unit. Do people think that volvo should have supplied a new machine at the price of the Hyundai?? Remind me not to invest in your Shark Tank offering.
@@mattmanyam I don’t think necessarily a new machine, but they could’ve given him a very good deal on a similar size sized Machine I would bet that there is a lot of operators that watch these videos and are influenced by Chris which is made Volvo probably a good amount of money. And plus that’s kind of how sponsors work that company is big enough to the point where they can give him a good deal
I’m was trying to catch up on your videos because I was in the hospital and I was recovering from spine surgery and I was in my hospital bed yelling at your new excavator what a monster and the nurses came in thinking I needed a boles of pain medication . I showed your new excavator to her but she wasn’t impressed so I just took the pain boles. I was even more Impressed after the shot.
I must admit my first guess was the Kobelco, not because of the IG shot, but because the Hyundai seemed a bit "tipsy" a bit on the light side, when the bucket was full and the arm fully extended - the Kobelco didn't do that, even if it had a bigger bucket. My guess was wrong. 😅
If I was to quess I would say that Jeff only said that in a mocking way to all the people that are saying Volvo dropped the ball . I don't believe for one minute that Chris or Jeff believes that to be true . They simply didn't have a machine with the hours in the price range he was looking for period. Business it's not personal.
Congrats on the new (slightly used) toy....Brutus is a fitting name for it Looks Great. Kudos to the dealer for doing a full service & all for it, instead of just selling it off etc. That goes a long way for customer satisfaction, They fully understood his requirements for it as a turn key transaction, ( And time restraints as w the need Vs going with the V brand & others etc Since i wont do any more bashing of V like others have done ) instead of > almost expected to see Chris get it, then spend the next 2 weeks getting it ready to go, This once again was a surprise. Although Kudos for Geoff for mentioning it within.

Hey... I love my new Hyundai Palisade (Limited)! 😉😉
I mean if they are low on stock of the machine he wanted and he needed the machine fast it’s not like Volvo can build a machine on a few days!!

Congrats and outstanding video as always . And thanks for telling us how much it would cost to " upgrade " the system . I really had no idea how much the accessories would cost and was blown away at the cost .
Congrats on the new machine Chris.
Now all you need is a bigger haul truck. lol
Congratulations! Always nice to get new equipment, very happy for you!
Amen
@@kaboom4679My boy Blue sure does like to take a field trip to the neighbors quite often!! LOL
All you need now is a long-reach to go with that dragline & your fleet will be complete. You are one lucky lad congrats.
Kobelco have nothing on the Hyundai... Wait till Chris spends a few months in this machine they are class leading!
Diggin' the rockin' intro as the 330 rolled in.
I’m hoping that Volvo still gets you that big excavator so you can sell this one but congratulations
Now That's a Big Toy ❤😊 Enjoy, YOU DESERVE IT ❤️ 👏 ♥️ let's Dig 18 !!!😊
@BAMA853that's what he did with the Hitachi he bought the volvo and sold the Hitachi he would use it for some time and he would consider the volvo probably in the future
Volvo needs to get of their asses and get Chris the excavator he wanted!
Congratulations Chris
Can you tear a house down with that machine
Congratulations Chris that looks like a great machine
So proud of you Chris love it an you work so hard for what you have got always follow your dreams an never give up be safe in it an you look so tiny in that big thing just some happy digging enjoy your new toy love it
Smooth machine or smooth operator?
Looks like both to me! Dig on!
Congrats Chris, you’ve come a long way in the years (easily a decade) that I’ve watched your videos.
I have to say though that early video telling stories with Charlie cracks me up still, especially the clip board lady one 😂
I just watched the one where they were at the auctions 13 years ago and Charlie broke the excavator and they were hanging out in the vehicle in the rain.. so funny!
Every time I watch him mashing trees into a pile I'm reminded of when he dug up a phone line (unwittingly) & the ensuing chaos.
The cone one was the best
Chris, Congrats... You have come a long way since just the Hitachi and a backhoe..., Well Done.
Thankfully no snake. :)
Congratulations!! You deserve it.
Congrats chris. Looking forward to seeing what attachments your gonna get for it
Now, he needs to get another off road haul truck
It's been fun to watch your company grow and its due only to your hard work. I am surprise with all the free advertising you have done for Volvo that someone higher up did not make you a deal.
Window Tint ASAP 😅 and Large Logo on back .
Congrats on the new machine
Congratulations!!🎉 your fleet is steadily increasing in size year to year, month to month.
Actually holds 154.7 US Gallons.... Great buy Chris, I only ever ran CAT and Hyundai. She is a nice bit of kit.
Be well. 😉
Congrats on the new machine!
Congratulations on your new machine. Nice excavator Koreans are making the most reliable machines at this moment, just like your Volvo.
Korea builds Volvo excavators.
@@michaelsmith2723I think that was the point. Hyundai and Volvo excavators are both Korean made.
I think Volvo (30 years ago) have their roots at Akermanns.
That is a nice bit of kit. Looking forward to seeing it move lots of dirt!
Come on Volvo. If ever there was a grass roots brand ambassador, this is the one to keep in your machine. Step up and deliver him one and just take his as a trad-in
WOW,, Chris!! WOW!!! So happy for you....and, us! Just watched you drive off trailor.....rest is up to you! NO PROBLEM !! GO MAN.....Houston B
So Chris by my count that makes # 14 to your fleet......Looking forward to watching you in action.
So happy for you Chris, congratulations 🧡
I'm pleased you went with the Hyundai - definitely the better machine for your purpose.
Congratulations on your new machine.
It’s genuinely astonishing that Volvo dropped the ball so badly on this one.
Chris was in the used machine best bang for buck market and the Hyundai was the best buy so how did Volvo do a dropped thing LOL
That’s just my opinion, though you don’t have to agree
G'day and thanks Chris, the pirouette was a nice touch!
I bet the people of Hyundai of the Americas are THRILLED👍👍
Congratulations Chris 🎉
I’m was trying to catch up on your videos because I was in the hospital and I was recovering from spine surgery and I was in my hospital bed yelling at your new excavator what a monster and the nurses came in thinking I needed a boles of pain medication . I showed your new excavator to her but she wasn’t impressed so I just took the pain boles. I was even more Impressed after the shot.
Nice Donnie have to get him another set of axles love the. Giver bucket have to tint the windows like the other ones
Congrats on the addition of Big Brutus to the fleet. He looks like a keeper. 👍
Agreed Jeff, Volvo did indeed drop the ball! But that 330 is beautiful!
