Very efficient, sturdy, well thought out build. Impressive. Video length was perfect and without sound over there was no language barrier. Funny how folks think that the room in a van is the same as that in their kitchen and den. One does not “camp/live in a van”, you “camp/live out of your van”. The distinction is lost for many folks. Be well.

Yeah, there's no way that there's enough headroom for an adult.
One does not “camp/live in a van”, you “camp/live out of your van”. The distinction is lost for many folks.
@@camperinabox that's not entirely correct. There are quite a few people actually living in their vans/campers. A lot out west, where housing costs are so high that even having a good job isn't enough. So those people are forced to convert vans to live in - or be homeless on the street.

This is brilliant, your modular deaign suits my needs.The guyline strapped to the seat belts' hook is so simple. I need to find a heavy duty hinges like yours then I can start building my self.
I'm trying to build a mini camper van like you AND I need a kitchen rack like this so I can use it while camping in a camping site.
Very clever set up. And the music is positively kraftwerkian.
We had a 1978 Ford Conversion van that had built in boxes in the back that worked simular to this. That van got a LOT of miles put on it. It had been restored just before I got it including new front fenders, new paint job and a new carburetor. I had to put the interior back together but it was pretty straight forward. High low shag carpet everywhere. Sides, ceiling, floors. I found an exact match for the carpet at a local carpet place in their vintage carpet area. lol. That van had 300thousand miles on it when I traded it for a 1989 Chevy conversion van with no shag carpet. lol.

@@michaelfarmer9901 My friend had one called the Blue Pirate. It had a waterbed in the back and two awsome airbrushed pictires on the sides of a pirate ship on one side and a pirate on the other. I guess the transmission failed when he was in Utah and its probably still there. Mine was Dark blue and originally had an orange diagnal marking like the Starsky and Hutch car on the sides. It was restored with no stripe when I got it. It had a visor in front, louvered rear windows and a moon roof. Shag carpet throughout with bench seats in back that turned into a bed and captains chairs and half barrel chairs. It was an awesome van.
First of all I want to say that I understand some things they say, others, not so much. So, I'm using a translator to speak. Thank you for sharing your project. That's what I want to do in my car: practical, easy to dismantle and, I can make meals in the car if it is raining or windy. I would certainly buy a motorhome if I had the money. It is not my reality. So, this is not the reason that will paralyze me. I REALLY loved your project and wish I could get in touch with you😉🙋🏾♀️🇧🇷

A good expansion is the be-all and end-all. It looks so good, I would just try to optimize it a bit so that one is faster. But that is usually not that easy. Many greetings ronactive

Couple observations. First, perhaps the demo would seem better suited in a taller space so to not get that cramped style.
Second, reduce the number of steps to make the bed to make it a more practical solution.

I loved this. Engineer by trade. Have the largest van you can buy (renault master rear wheel drive extended body, extended roof) however want to stay minimalist with it so I can still fit motorbikes or mountains of filmmaking equipment in the van and this is brilliant!

Hi Thomas, Thank you for your comment. It depends on the car you have. A Berlingo with a protective 'wall' has about 175cm of space for a bed then. What car do you have?

Nicely made. I have seen a few other bed designs that use the seat belt attachments to hold up the bed but they were much clunkier. I am planning my own bed for my minivan and weighing the options. Do you like the modular cushions? I am leaning towards a one piece bed mattress. Have you tried other designs with full mattresses?
Thank you for the compliments. We build something different for the belt attachments and testing this now. An extendable bar that supports the bed. I will show that in a video when it's finished. About the mattress, we are changing to a full foldable mattress. BTW, I subbed to your channel.

We do not fit in a sink as we think it takes up a lot of space and you use it so little...

Great concept....compact, clean and precise. You are in Antwerp? I am looking for a simple basic van (no windows, needs professional insulation). Good 2nd hand model in Renault or other that I can buy - stay over - and equip in Antwerp in 2 - 3 days before return to south west France mid September. Can you advise or help!!?
