I loved the fabric and the style of the dress.If your not happy with the size of the top you could fold the front v neckline on the right side and then move over ,as needed,to the left and secure with a button.This would give you the effect of a pleat at the front which would suit the dress style. Personally,I love the dress as it is. I was taught to cut out any nap fabric with the nap smooth side running down(as you have used it).This ensures when you sit on or lean back on your fabric the nap sits flat and the fabric doesn't shine. I am glad you persevered with your dungarees as they look fab.
The dress looks so great! I've had the opposite happen before, where I have a fabric that I really love and expect it to become something terrific, but then in reality it just didn't turn out as I thought it would. Funny how that sometimes goes. I am greatly missing having sewing time. There just has been too much going on work-wise for the past few months but hoping by spring to have time to use the stash of fabrics I have in the closet. Until then I enjoy what you and the other sewists on the channels are making.

I know they say it has an athletic aesthetic but I think it has a bit of a Missoni vibe, especially in the rainbow colour, and would look nice made into some smart looking athleisure wear. Need to find a pattern!

Can’t wait to see your Jarrah. I’ve been meaning to make the curved hem version for ages. I’ve made the straight sweatshirt but it came up very large or at least swings out the back. I probably chose rather a generous size but didn’t want it skimpy. I can’t decide between the Jarrah and Helens closet Elliot sweater and so it goes on …. Lovely dress btw😊
I think your dress looks great on you. Your choice of pattern really suits the fabric. Well done. I have made the Athena trying to use up lengths of wovens and make loose summery tops. It was large so you may need to size down.
Nice makes. I’ve made the green style pants and love the pocket. Beautiful dress it’s reminded me of the Farrah blouse dress by Chalk & Notch but has no sleeves So I’m looking in my stash and am going to make it. Just finished the Nicks Blouse and agree I wear it with jeans. Great make
I have a Phaff quilt expression and a Bernina 770 and I am the complete opposite to you. My Bernina is by far my favourite. The Phaff I've had terrible problems with the automatic button hole foot and its extremely fussy and will only sew with Gutermann thread. I also get thread nesting underneath. It wasn't in the cheaper range of their machines either but its now in its box and unused

Oh, if only the German designers all would draft for our height. I don't have that many German patterns in my collection - funnily enough - but I've definitely had to add length.
