Hmm I've only had bad experiences with my Mokwheel Obsidian. It rides well and is fun to ride around on. But I have a gap in the frame between the battery and the battery compartment, if you ride a little longer off-road, sand and dirt gets into the compartment. Also, I didn't get the e-bike in new condition, it had paint damage and the battery indicator doesn't work properly as it's always at 100% and the motor makes funny noises between 19 and 24 km/h. I wrote to support and they didn't even want to give me spare parts for the damage, but bike accessories as compensation, which is extremely cheeky or 15 EUR.
Good to know and for those reasons I have to be out guess I’m getting a new rifle been torn between this bike and a rifle for some time but that helps me choose
@@beforedeth2104 If you want an inexpensive bike with good power; I'd suggest a Freesky. I've had a good experience with them and almost everyone that's commented about theirs has only said good things.
Ive had a basalt for a year now 1500 miles minor issues each and every time I've called or emailed customer service Chad was very resonsive and they were resolved. I will admit some accessories are cheap but most of them such as suspension seat post pannier bag phone holder and baskets are quality and well worth the 99.00 i payed. As for the mount yes it could be made better but if you don't tighten it radically it's fine I've had no issues. I live in Brooklyn new york and ride 10 miles a day for work and have done so in 33 degree weather never a battery issue. Maybe you recieved a bad one. Sometimes people will get some defective materials it happens it just doesn't make the brand a bad one.
I initially let the cheapness of the rearview mirror slide, due to the overall feel of the bike. The final straw was the downright insults from customer service when I pointed out that they should have made their display serviceable with the display and mount separate pieces. A company should not insult buyers.
Brand new Bikes paint chips also. Companies sell protective bike wraps for this reason. The display mount breaks if the screws are overtightened. I do believe that a whole lot of Ebikes made in China have issues. The key is working out the issues and enjoying the ride. If you buy another brand I guarantee you will have issues also. Anything human made will have problems. As for the customer service that does suck how they treated you.
@@troyolsenRC The decision to make the display and mount a single piece is absurd. I bought a $10 mount for a different display and used threaded inserts and M3 screws, then separated their display and made it a replaceable display, myself. Why couldn’t their engineers design a replaceable mount from the get go?
All those paint chips are right around the battery. I bet it rattles. Take the battery out and line the compartment with thin foam rubber sheeting. Available on Amazon. Put enough that you have to put pressure on the battery to latch it so it will not vibrate.
Thanks for the review. I have an obsidian too and my display mount cracked on both sides also…. Could you get me info on the replacement mount that you came up with? It looks sturdy! Thanks, Jesse
th-cam.com/video/tWjNMycdlPc/w-d-xo.html There are links to the parts. Basically, It's threaded inserts, two 3mm screws and a $10 mount for a different display from amazon. I keep boxes of threaded inserts and screws for 3d printing but you might be able to find just might want to look for a couple rather than getting a whole box,
I use baskets off road for fishing equipment and sometimes my dog.
@@poppaseed8588 It is a really nice basket. I mostly put water and gear in it.

That's pretty consistent with my experience with the company and bike. It's a pity because it's so close to being good.

I'm pretty sure the chips were caused by rocks being thrown up by the front tire. The roads were pretty bad late winter and early spring.
