Nice! Which harp concerto is it? Who is the composer? Super curious, as I'm a harpist myself and contemporary works are always super exciting. Thank you!
What a wonderful work of art!! This orchestra has a rich depth of sound, especially coming from that horn section...a sound that is sorely missed today. I see a Lawson and a Conn 8D back there. I hope they don't change their equipment...ever.
I've been lucky enough to see this piece done by the original woodwind quintet (got to meet Coleman too!) -- which is essentially the final movement in this arrangement. I found the string section to be far too overpowering in sections, overshadowing some of the best sections for the winds... But I'm probably biased as a trumpet and French horn player 😂
We are a coven of witches. We banded together and used dark magic to gain entry to the orchestra, the only way we could ever win these sorts of auditions. Now you know our secret… but if you tell a soul, we will come for you too…

Thank you so much! This is so thoughtful of you and really helpful for me trying to play the first violin part :)
I love this performance, particularly I love watching the piccolo player!
Kudos to a well prepared and disciplined group, I'd be dead meat if I had to rely on this guy's conducting in a read-through.
Isn't that Vanska conducting?
we're playing this on an upcoming concert next month...
AND a contemporary harp concerto...

@@HelenaRicci Nancy Van De Vate. Tonight was the first time I was able to hear any of it with the soloist. Sounds good.
@@sifridbassoon That's really exciting, never heard of this concerto before, will google it, thanks for the information!

It’s true stevenj9970! Us poor men are under their dark magic spells and we can’t stop having talented women join our orchestra! Help!
