For the 1st story it reminded me of a similar situation that happened to me, the beginning part at least. I worked with an older woman who was just a fellow employee in the same exact section I was in. One of the sections we had to help out in was with the jewelry section. The jewelry manager LOVED working with me she would call me over frequently to help because she not only liked my work ethic, but she knew I enjoyed helping her whenever I possibly could. She even told me that she wanted to retire soon and that she wanted me to be her replacement when she did. So she was teaching me the ropes before she did. Then this fellow employee was hired. No one liked working with her mostly because she just talked all the time and tried to pretend like she was working. I'm not exaggerating when I say she called out ALL THE TIME as well, everyone in the section always tried to guess what excuse she would come up with each time. And we knew the days she was scheduled to work we would get a call out from her in that morning. So we would always make a game plan on how to cover whatever section she was supposed to be in. Then on the days when she was there if another employee called out she would complain about it all day even though she did the same only worse...Anyway she wanted to be in charge of the jewelry section, it was the least amount of work of all the sections we had to do and she only wanted to do it because she was extremely lazy. She was the only one in our section that tried to sit her entire shift when she was there as well. She knew the current manager wanted to make me in charge so the lazy employee knew she wouldn't get the position if I was there so she tried to get me fired instead. She started making up rumors about me how I was lazy and talked throughout my entire shift, which is what she actually did. She also tried to say I was taking extra unauthorized breaks throughout the day and that I was stopping to talk and hang out with my boyfriend. I did start dating someone that not only worked in a completely different department than me, but he literally worked a later shift than me. I would only see him in passing for maybe the last hour or so of my shift. We made sure to keep everything professional and outside of work only, but everyone knew we were dating. All the managers luckily knew she was lying because I was the hardest worker in the section besides my 1 other friend. We had a snowstorm one day and it was so bad literally everyone else called out. Even people who lived right in town. I lived 45 minutes to an hour away and I was the only one who went in to work anyway 😂 It was so bad I got into a car accident on the way home but still went to work the next day afterward. I also gave them my 2 weeks eventually but they made me work an extra week because it was inventory week and they knew no one else would get it done properly. They knew she was lying through her teeth and projecting what she was doing wrong instead lol
