Asha Bhosle took her 2nd Filmfare Award 🏆for "Piya Tu Ab To Aaja" from Nasir Hussain's Caravan (1971). This was her first award, she would follow this up the following year with "Dum Maro Dum"- Take Another Toke from Nav Ketan's Hare Rama Hare Krishna (1971) with Dev Anand (1923-2011) & newcomer Zeenat Aman. Zeenat Aman actual said in an interview that the cast & crew were actually high on chillum (smoking the actual chillum- marijuana my guess)? This is classic Hindi cinema, Nasir Hussain (1931-2002) like Raj Kapoor, B.R. Chopra & Yash Chopra knew how to tell a story in a film. A first class writer, director & producer. Rest in Peace Sir!!!

I noted that old Bollywood movies songs were written mostly in Urdu... Those poets used very difficult urdu words in their songs . Like in the first lines of this song poet has used words " dehka " and " jawala " .. this is relatively difficult urdu ... Dehka or dehakna means burning of coal... Jawala is used for the liquid coming out of a volcano... Great song .

Goodness,,I was staying at the same apartment (overlooking Sophia College) as her,,Somerset Place. I was staying with some very close friends at 3A and Helen was in 4A. This time ago ,,in the 70s when I went to India!
The children of the Jhas’ always pestered me to go to Aunty Helen’s apt but I didn’t. I wish I did though. Her apt was right above my room and I remember one night she played an Engelbert’s song ; Walk Through This World With Me. I liked that song too. When I told Amitabh that we’ll go see her, he told me that Aunty Helen was away working on a movie. I had to return after a few weeks. Loved Pani Puri, Bhel Puri and BatataPuri !! India is a beautiful place.
