  • We bought a 1997 Jayco pop up trailer. We tore everything out and replaced the floor, repainted the cabinets, bought new cushions, new bed mattresses, washed the canvas and installed brand new countertops. We made glitter countertops from MDF board and epoxy resin. The glitter we bought from Michaels and the epoxy resin from Hobby Lobby. Overall, we are really happy with our tent trailer remodel and have already enjoyed many camping trips! Big thanks to the Pop Up Princess for all of the inspiration.

Love that you paid homage to This Old House. Good job on camper!

I used Armoral on the end caps on our older pop up camper. It worked great at keeping it clean and waterproof. As a rule, I always wiped the end caps after every camping trip with a dish cloth and towel. My wife always wanted to wash towels when we got home from camping, so that really kept the ends looking nice.

This has to be my favorite pop up camper remodel! I love your twin bed idea on one side and play space for your little one.

Hey. Do you have any details on how you rigged your raft on top of your popup? Does the popup have a rack? Do you use a winch system or roller bar to get it up there?
    Thanks.

Hey Matthew, I have learned alot about putting a raft on a pop up. I don't have a winch system but use myself and one other person to get it up there. It's quite easy if you line the raft up next to the trailer (parallel) then lift up one side, leaning on the trailer and scoot it the rest of the way up (let me know if that doesn't make sense). I would highly recommend protecting the vent as my vent was completely destroyed from the bouncing of the raft. Other than that, it would perfectly.

I wonder if a pressure washer would have also cleaned the canvas just as well.

I made a glitter top desk years ago, with epoxy. I didn't use a heat gun at all, no cloudiness. Could have been the epoxy

jennifer guerra good to know. A power washer would have certainly made the work go faster but I do think you will need to scrub.

Great job being trapped at home we decided to pull out our camper to remodel it. Did I see 2 doors in your camper?

I've got a 97 Jayco as well, only one door. Super Jelly

Yes two doors! It’s nice but unfortunately it looks like our frame is a little crooked so when popped up one of the doors won’t shut
      :(
