Hi ! This beautiful song is about "Death" and grief.. and the grief felt when losing a loved one. Sometimes it is "good" to invent a little story to soothe, and to tell yourself, for example here, that it is another species from another world that has taken the person to a better world for them and that everything will be ok for them in this context.. This song was recorded here when the backing vocalist on the guitar had just lost her mother a few days before, and knowing Aurora, we know who she is singing for here. We can really feel, at one point in the middle, that she is starting to get very moved... What a great person she is.. 🫶
My favorite Aurora song, and this performance is made all the more special because her backup singer, Silja Sol, had just lost her mother. So, I would imagine the lyrics were hitting her pretty hard. You should definitely check out the studio version. The production is very cool, playing into the sci-fi theme. Unlike most of her songs, the studio version is my favorite.
Now that i have learned a bit more from the comments i know that it deals with death and grief. Interesting how not knowing can result in a different interpretation.
There is another must-see live version of the song, that you should add to your list (keep it for some emotional day): A Different Kind Of Human at Somewhere Else Festival. For my part, I also had to read up on what the song is about. Then it make sense. Aurora likes to sing about the same topics in different songs - but from very different perspectives. Her empathetic abilities support her doing that in a fascinating way.
A lovely reaction to my favorite performance of one of my favorite Aurora songs! The studio version's production definitely sets it apart, and I think listening to the songs in the context of the full album is really helpful for her (especially as she has a few songs that are basically just intros/outros and wouldn't warrant a reaction on their own, but are often linked to other things on the album).
I just posted a comment on the HAIK Warrior performance referencing this concert. This was a concert to celebrate Christine's work with NRK over the years. It was a very emotional performance for many reasons. This is one of the best performances of this song, but my personal favorite performance of this song is the "Somewhere Else Fest" which was recorded in an empty theater with just Aurora, during the pandemic, with mannequins in the audience. It brings me to tears every single time.
Nice reaction as always Saeed🥰 I looove this song and performance, beautiful❤️ In an interview with Bandwagon, she said the reason behind the song: "I really wanted to make a song to help people cope with death and to cope with losing people they love. That's why I wrote this song. I think it was my mum, who said to me when I was young, that it's always the good people that die and that the best people were just too good for the world. People commit suicide, which is a horrible, sad thing, but it happens everyday. It's almost like the world was too cruel for them and they were too good for this world. That's why I wrote this song 'A Different Kind of Human', which is about these creatures that come to Earth to a dying human. And they say, Don't be scared, we're going to take care of you. You'll be safe and we'll take you to this new home where you’ll be with people as kind as yourself. You'll be happier at this safe place. I was hoping it could help people who have lost someone and convey that they're in a safe place."
this song has two parts, the 2nd part is 'mothership', the last song of the album 'a different kind of human'. i think you should listen two both parts and rethink your first interpretation. thanks for reacting.
Oh, man. Now you know this gorgeous song. If you have also heard Secret Garden by Aurora, you should check out these two songs used in an a capella arrangement, that is just stunning: th-cam.com/video/jfun2EMMTaU/w-d-xo.html
@@SaeedReacts. Oh, shit. You are right. I just can't keep up with your tempo :D Anyway, I think this song and the a capella Secret garden are not in your Aurora playlist, by the way. Thanks! Have a good night.

Beautiful song! Definitely very relatable, but many of her songs are.
Thanks for watching.
I always imagine this song to be about the people who left us too early. Its like this world was too dark for them, so they left it early.
Now that i have learned a bit more from the comments i know that it deals with death and grief.

This song hits different 😭

This is one of my favourite songs, it always takes me to a better place. And this is a fantastic performance. Thanks Saeed!
Great song and performance! Thanks for watching! Have a great day!
This was recorded shortly after Silja Sol's mother died of brain cancer!
Love Aurora. She takes a difficult subject and makes it beautiful ❤
Oh yes... She is a different kind of human!
That's the key to her. Every song, every performance, different. She sees the world in a different way, that shows in her lyrics.
Every time I see and hear Aurora she’s beaming me up to a better place. Good reaction Saeed!
She really does! Thanks for watching.

Definitely want to hear different versions of this song. Thanks for watching and the recommendation.

Interesting! Thanks for letting me know about. (Hope i can remember my first interpretation) 😄
@@SaeedReacts. No interpretation is wrong - that´s the great thing about art ;-)
This is a truly beautiful song and this is my personal favorite version, their harmonies are perfection. Thanks for a great reaction Saeed.
Another great song! Thanks for watching!
Ohhh....beautiful!❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much, bless your heart and soul 🙏🏼🍀
Ren and her should do a song together!!
That would be an amazing collab! Thanks so much for watching.
I see it as so many of us feeling like aliens compared to much of the human race… it’s nice to believe we have a place we belong… elsewhere.

I reacted to Secret Garden and also this performance you shared. (Before i know this song(

How about some Eivor too?
I have reacted to a few Eivor songs on the channel. Might do more at some point.
The quality poor on this subtitled version.
Ich vermisse Silja Sol.
