I love watching you videos as a digital artist. I like hearing about the problems traditional artists have and the wonderful and fun tools they use
Love watching Kirsty after a long exhausting week:))
I've been using the electric eraser for 2 years now. You're definitely right! It's so amazing to use. ❤️🎨✏️ That one runs off of batteries, I got tired of buying batteries and purchased the electric eraser that you plug up with a USB charger.
That' the ticket, man. Which one can you recommend ?
Amazon sells a 2 pack and you get lots of refill eraser in both sizes and they are rechargeable and run a long time on one charge I love them
@@denisebodine6805 that's where I got em from. 2 from Amazon and 2 from Hobby Lobby.
What is the name of the eraser?
got about 10 electric erasers plus one usb derwent
I use that identical looking electric eraser & a tombow round. I used them on a couple of previous work to make & add finer lines to hair, eyes & clothing. Glad I added them to my kit.
Looks interesting. I've been using a Koh-i-noor and sharpening it. I can get it sharper than the Mono.
In stead of stumps and tissue, I use Q-tip type cosmetic applicators and cotton animal cage nestlets.
I use 2 sets of pencils with 2 different points, I keep one set sharp, and for shading, I use the side of the lead with a duller point. For those I use an old wall mounted Boston grinder sharpener because it exposes a longer part of the lead. It can make sharp points too, but it grinds away a lot of the pencil to do so, and I don't want it mounted on my drawing table. So for sharp points I use a variety of razor blade sharpeners that I conveniently keep on the table, and they're also economical in what they cut away.
I've had one of these for years. Never considered using it this way. Great idea!
Cool tool, very useful for small details!
I bought one a week ago. I haven't gotten to use it a lot yet, but I'm excited. I also bought a manual stick eraser too, for different situations.
I have an electric eraser and be warned they can burnish your paper or cause damage to the fibres underneath. The Tombow mono zero is way more controllable and if you slice the tip of a mono zero at an angle you can get incredibly fine lines.
You deserve more subscribers! The quality of your videos and information you give is really helpful 💜
I had no idea this was a thing! Genius! Ty! 😊
I just got one. I'll have to learn how to use it. I'm going to watch your video for tips. Thanks
WOW…had never seen it!!. Must have it!.
Need! Thanks for the tip.
Thank you for the info
I've never even heard of electric erasers before until I watched this video, and I really wanted one after seeing it! Today it is my 36th birthday and I got this exact one from my parents as a birthday gift, which made me so happy btw! It's going to change the way I draw completely! =)
36 years old and your parents got you an eraser for your birthday? You're very lucky man! I only had some poor gifts from some random x girlfriends, people don't make gifts as they used to, back in the 80's and 90's.
I have that tombow eraser and had been considering trying out an electric one, this is a great comparison and definitely something I'm going to look into ❤
Electrics are ok but the Tombows are better IMO. Tombows = More control, less damage.
@@pentachronic oh okay that’s interesting, thanks!
It doesn't matter if the electric eraser damages the tooth a bit, because you use it at the final stage for highlights and details, you won't use the spots the eraser worked on anymore! and that's IF it damages the paper. Tombow 2.3mm is a different tool for different jobs, if you want the results thatt are demonstrated here, or generally, hyper realism drawings, then you need the electric eraser Kirsty uses here.@@pentachronic
Definitely going to try this
I hope you like it 👍🏻
Electric erasers are a godsend. The one you have in the video is fine but I have found there is something to be careful of. The thickness when around 2mm can be prone to break easily due to being extended too far from the collar that holds it. If too short then the collar can scratch the drawing. It's less likely to cause serious damage with a plastic collar but is more of an issue when it's metal. I use two. One is a Tenwin with a plastic collar, which is used for the 2mm eraser. The other is a Derwent, which has 5mm diameter erasers, held in by a metal collar. The eraser can be extended further to keep it clear without fear of breaking due to its thickness. Both erasers are kept at a fine point. They do wear down rather quickly.
Those little stamped metal-foil eraser shields are also under-rated. I wonder if she has one of those in her tool kit somewhere? (Admittedly they take a bit of practice to use well.)
I have one of those but I was lucky to get the Derwent precision rechargable eraser on sale recently, it's lighter and the tip is at an angle which is easier for me. They're great little tools and I still use my old one for the fatter erasers😊
What is the name of that eraser, please?
@@Diego-Designs that eraser is electric eraser probably of brusto company
@prakharthakurathi6844 thank you!
Amazing
My favourite artis 👌👌👌I always bless to yu..all the best 👌 👍 😍
I don't know if you can still get those but I used this technique many years ago with the larger type eraser and found that if you use the ones intended for drafting ink you can get pretty fine lines since they are much harder. Keep the tip flat and you will have sharp edges to work with!
Available on Amazon (in the US).
I bought this a few months ago, it's a game changer.
That’s great! I love it so much 🥰
Informative
Te sigo desde España buenísimo tu canal
Wow never knew this existed works so much better and easier and faster
I use the same technique, but not the same result 😅
Wow!
Hi i am a huge fan
I get so psyched that I have the same electric eraser as Kirsty.
👏👏, i like all your tips. And right, this tool can make your work much easier, BUT , need learn to use this very careful…. Very careful🥰
I was wondering how well the electric eraser worked
Thanks for sharing
Cool, reverse drawing :-) ingeniues.
I would cut (have someone fabricate a kind of cookie cutter so you just punch it out) a Faber-Castell dust-free eraser and use that.
God bless.
I wanted to enroll for her course drawing decoded, but it is closed, anyone know when they open.
What's the name of the electric eraser used ?
Thank you for this video, I have a couple of questions. Does the electric erase work on colored pencil drawings and what type of pencil sharpener would you suggest for prismacolor pencil, I do graphite, colored pencil, alcohol marker and some digital artwork. Again thank you
I’ve seen Kirsty use an electric eraser with colored pencil in one of her videos, and yes! It does work quite well. The Derwent super point manual Helical sharpener is also really great for Prismacolor because it give such a sharp point and they break WAY less often.
Just a side not for the pencil sharpener; It is amazing and gives a really sharp point but it can sometimes cause bite marks on your pencils, that’s just something to be aware of in case that is a problem for you!
I hope this helps!
@@samanthagibbons6353 hi whats a bite mark?
@@wigglypaw It’s when a shapener leaves a scratch or indent in the wooden casing it was gripping onto while sharpening. It’s not much of a problem unless that sort of thing may bother you.
I need more work books
I just purchase one on Amazon it work the same way I see on the video
❤
Kristy, how do you sale your art online?
All of my drawing is digital these days but this does seem like bringing a digital eraser into the real world.
Yes electric is better than normal 😊❤❤
🙏
Mam but electric eraser alog damage the paper or ruin the drawing
If you use drawing paper that is decent quality then the electric eraser won’t damage the paper but it can do if you use thin or cheap paper 😊
Mam but some tume it also damage 180 gsm
I have seen these, but haven't considered using them. There is something in me that wants to avoid using erasers- can't argue with the results, though.
Where can I get this in Nigeria?
How much that electrical eraser cost
About £6, you can get a decent electric eraser for $5-$10
Love the video! Also Love the blue sweater! Very cute! Where'd you get it?❤
genius is that a styles
i always wreck my paper when i use an electric eraser, prob press too hard with it😶
Sadly only available in the UK. Legit makes the argument of moving there for masters much more enticing 😩
You can use any electric eraser. I have one from Ohuhu. It holds large and small size erasers.
@@rainbeauxunicorn5237 oh i didn't know that the size can be adjusted. Thanks for the info!
Afmat (if available in your country) also has two different sizes. The regular, larger one and the smaller one. 😉
I'm not in the UK and I got one like this from Joom. It can hold both the slim eraser and the thicker one and I also bought refills separately.
@@FernCurtis just checked, it is available but wow its pricey! I m no pro so ig i should stick to affordable ones for now
oh its a eraser cool
the sound of the electric eraser sounds like a baby getting kicked 500 times in a row.
