First time trying to subtitle something... and I have to say, respect to our anime fansubbers salute .o\

I tweaked the translation a bit in order for it to "flow" a bit better (in my opinion, anyways). I realize some parts are not faithful to the original Japanese, but I tried to keep it as close as possible (at least to the original translation since I know very limited Japanese).

The summer breeze knocks, and when I opened the window,
Somewhere the chirps of a bird wander inside.
I put my half-read book aside and asked with a smile,
"Where did you come from?"
With my blindfold still on at three in the afternoon.
Sekai wa angai SIMPLE de,
Fukuzatsu ni kaiki shita watashi nante;
Dare ni rikai mo sarenai mama.
Machihazure, mori no naka,

The world is surprisingly simple,

Sore wa ryoushin ni kiita koto,

That's what I heard from my parents,
And it seemed my eyes did just that.
And just like how it goes in stories,
things like me will always be feared.

「Me wo miru to ishi ni natte shimau」 to iu to tada waratta.

「Demo sekai wa sa, angai obienakute ii n da yo?」
Finding me cowering and covering my eyes, the person was surprised.
"Y-You'll turn into stone if you look at my eyes," I stammered, but he just smiled.
"I've been living afraid as well, afraid I'd turn into stone."
"But wouldn't the world be so much better, without that fear?"

Souzou wa sekai ni sukoshi naridashite.
NEE NEE, toppi na mirai wo -
Oshiete kureta anata ga,
Mata mayotta toki wa,

Ding Ding~ it peacefully sounded,
My heart overflowed with imagination,
And it joyfully rang out to the world.
