  • An interesting folk dance from Oberschwabian, Baden-Württemberg, Deutschland. It was performed by volunteered dancers from different places of South Germany to entertain visitors who came to this so-called Special Event "Handwerkertag im Freilichtmuseum Kürnbach".
I didnt know there would be a dance performance, so I was late to record the beginning. Anyway, it was my first time holding a digital camera LOL and you could see it was a bit shaky.
Anyway, it is a beautiful dance from lovely dancers!

If you look at their faces you can see they rock it out hard from the bottom of their hearts. Man, I still have tears in my eyes, this touches me hardcore.

Seems to have a lot in common with American square dancing. Yet Wikipedia attributes the origins of square dancing strictly to the British Isles.

The dance is Swiss and is called "Nagelschmied" :-) Very nice anyway! I'm a dancer myself and now we finally can do this again :-)

I think Swiss and German have many things in common, especially the food. I’ve been many times visiting Swiss for vacation and sometimes I can’t see the difference

I wish bavaria land would be Swabian land because Swabians deserved a state more and they are originally German but bavarians are a mixture of old "Turks, avars, hungarians, germans, slavs", even bavaria name means ba-avaria (white avars) . And bavarians don't see themselves as German. But Swabians are true German. Long live Swabians ❤️

this is something new to me, my husband does not even know the history. He is an authentic swabian, no mixture of any that you mentioned above. His ancestors were original swabians. Thank you for your great comment :)
