  • Today Savilles' Travels takes you to the beautiful island of Corfu in Greece. My Mum and I stayed at Domes of Corfu. This hotel sits on what I believe to be one of the best beaches in Glyfada, Corfu. It deserves its 5 stars with impeccable service, beautiful food and drinks & its modern clean design.

We stayed on a Half Board basis which gave us dining in the buffet restaurant. We were provided with bottled water during our stay but paid for additional drinks.
Would I stay again? Yes without a doubt but I love visiting different places so for now I'm off to Dubai & Maldives......
    POSITIVES
Location - stunning beach which changes from rough sea where you can jump the waves to a bath like calm tranquil pool of water depending on the weather
Pelekas Kaisers Observatory is a viewing platform atop a craggy rock and gives panoramic views across the island and is perfect for watching the sun set
Great Comfortable sunbeds by pool and beach
Half Board food was very good
    Service was 5*
    Drinks were excellent quality
Pool Towels Provided, you can use as any as you want
    Chilled relaxed vibe throughout hotel
    Our room was quiet
    30min transfer from Airport
Only 30mins into Corfu Town (there is a bus which only cost a few euros of a taxi costs around 40 euros one way)
Pazuzu - Beautiful restaurant bar located at the end of the beach which was amazing views and it cheaper than the hotel)
Coffee making facilities, hairdryer, iron, mini fridge and toiletries in the room
    Waiter service to your sunbed
Always sun beds available, no need to reserve
The hotel smelt like a spa everywhere
    Lifts to all floors
    Food labeled and indicated allergens
    NEGATIVES
Pool was chilly mid May- not heated
The A La Carte restaurants are not included in the Half Board Package - would have been nice to get 1 visit per stay
Drinks are on the expensive side (if you go out you can pay as little as 6 euros for a beer and a glass wine - in the hotel this would cost 13 euros)
Our twin beds were very firm and uncomfortable but I heard others say the King Sized beds were lovely
No atmosphere/entertainment in the evenings (I know the hotel is working on this)

Nice vlog, showcased everything you would like to see about the place. Better than most established vloggers who spend most of the time with cam pointed at their face , Music was a plus

Thanks for this video. Really helpful. I’ve booked to go and hoped I’d find a video here. Are there any good genuine Greek tavernas within walking distance for a traditional Greek dinner? I do hope so.

I believe so from what other guests were saying. We were half board so ate dinner at the hotel but had drinks out in the day locally. I've just got back from Skiathos and we ate out all the time, the greek food is so good. I hope you enjoy your holiday

Nice video ☺️ been there last year and this year again. How much was the cap to pelekas? And what’s the name of the restaurant there? Thank you ☀️

Hi, the taxi really wasn’t a lot, I can’t remember exact amount charged but it was only 5-10mins away. The restaurant next to Kaisers throne (observatory viewing point) was called Sunset. You obviously like the hotel too if you returned. Fab place

Would you recommend the half board package? I’d like to stay for a week, but worry about food could be a bit boring. Thanks

I’d defo recommend. The food was lovely and varied. Obviously it’s not the same as eating out every night but we went out for lunch and drinks and ate breakfast and dinner in the hotel and enjoyed it alot. Beautiful hotel, I’d go back!

Is this definitely an adults only hotel as advertised. Is there anywhere near by to buy bottles of water etc, that won't cost a fortune? Love your vlog by the way.

Hi, thanks so much for watching and your lovely comment. I’m afraid to say it was not adults only when we stayed. However, me and my mum went in school term time and the only children were very young and therefore not disruptive. No kids jumping in the pool etc. We felt the hotel had an adult vibe but wasn’t strictly adult only. There is a separate adults only pool. If you walk down the beach to the right there are a couple of shops but i wouldn’t say cheap. The hotel does give you water. You get one a day by the pool but plenty in room and house keeping will always give you more. We just asked at the bar for a cup with ice and used this for free. Didn’t buy any water during our stay. Right at the end of the beach is s lovely restaurant/bar and the cocktails and Prosecco is s bit cheaper. We went to Pelekas… very cheap local wine and a few little shops but nothing much. I hope that helps a little. Ask me any other questions you have. I wouldn’t hesitate to go again x

Are the domes resorts safe? It’s my first time in Europe in over 12 years. (I’m worried about safety as I usually travel to Orlando.) I’m staying in a domes resort also, did you feel safe? How good are safe options in the room for valuables?

      @SavillesTravels  ปีที่แล้ว

Hi, I felt very safe. I travelled with my Mum and we had no issues. We walked on the beach, ate out, went to local villages etc.
the hotel is beautiful with service to match, a great choice. Plus the beach is the nicest on the island (from what we saw and who we spoke to)
I hope you visit and have a fantastic holiday

@@SavillesTravels I agree ... very safe. Just got back with my wife and we had a fabulous time at Domes. Corfu Town is a must. Loads to see and do. All very safe. October is great as there are no kids and not heaving with summer tourists.
