My parents had a brass cat Poker Stand like yours on their hearth until they changed from a coal fire to central heating. You stood the hot end of the poker in the cup, after you had poked the fire, and rested the handle on the tiles. A 1950-60s essential!!
A lovely gentle vlog to watch. You found some great things to sell, I really enjoy watching them. Also it’s good to see how well your cuttings are doing. Jenny is clearly loving having such a choice of where to go and what to go in her lovely new home and garden! Hope you have a good week ahead. Take care xx
Thanks for sharing your car boot hauls, I'm not sure that these days there is anything like car boot sales where I live in Australia so am always interested in what you pick up and the prices. Love that Darren is such an "entertainment" for the cows! Hugs from a very cool southern Australia 💖💖💖
@@kirstenscuriosities Yes we do Kirsten, but they are few and far between it seems theses days and certainly in my area. We have seen the changeover in this area from lots of oldies in big family homes to mid thirty-mid forty somethings in duplexes (2 houses on what had been a single block with a family home on it) to redevelopments on sites where an older home is knocked down and huge single and now double story homes . All this to say people throw out or donate "old stuff" and furnish their new homes with things from IKEA. Very sad, especially as the IKEA things seem to not last that long!! I will say nothing more about that generation or I will start to rant. However, I do note that when I go to drop off things to a charity shop like the Salvos that I am often greeted by what I think are Ebay sellers, so I guess some people somewhere are liking used, older items.
If I was still buying, reselling, and collecting, I’d have to have a collection of those English biscuit jars. Jack Russells have very selective hearing. I have the most prolific stand of banana tress here in Kentucky. They are a cold tolerant and hardy variety to our winters, when cut back and mulched over for their winter nap. In the spring they pup out like crazy. They must drain well during the winter, otherwise the tuberous root system gets frozen and dies. The original start plant cost $30. I wish I had your greenhouse. I could make some money on the pup transplants. Gone bananas, I know. Peace.
Hi Kirsten, I had a pair of curtains with the exact design as the top blue ones in your bag, except mine were in more autumnal shades with a brown background, they’re almost certainly from the same era. I also bought the fabric and made them myself. Just thought I’d let you know that they’re almost certainly vintage. I’d say the India paper mache thing is for incense sticks. Take care, I’ve still got boot fair finds envy!🤣🤣🥰🥰🥰❤❤
No idea what your item is but please let us know when you know, I’m curious. Compost bin looking amazing, look forward to seeing end result. 👍 for Jenny xxx
I love a “meandering “ day! Poor Jenny doesn’t know what she wants today 🥰
She wants us on call all day 😂

Hi kirsten. I enjoyed watching your video today. It's a shame you have to take the lavender out, from afar I looks lovely. 🙂
I’m hoping we’ll improve in the long run

Me again! 🙄 I meant to say that my mum bought the fabric of the curtains in the late 60’s! I’d forget my head if it wasn’t screwed on!🙄🙄🙄🤣🤣🤣🥰🥰🥰

Growing bananas seems so exotic
Love the Moomin t-shirt! 💚
Hope it’s not ruined
I’m sure my dad used to ripen green tomatoes in a drawer or wrap them in brown paper 😊
Oo that’s interesting

I do a green tomato curry if your looking for something different to do with the green tomatoes.
Ooo that sounds interesting
Is your paper mache thing for hat pins ?
That’s what I think it’s for

I thought it looked like another incense stick holder but not sure. 🤷🏼♀️
I think it’s for holding hat pins
@@kirstenscuriosities That would make sense 👍xxx

Could be for incense sticks?
It could be but I think it’s more likely for hat pins

What is this? Looks like an incense holder.
I think it’s a hat pin holder
