Same, gonna be 31 this year, and just starting to find my own happiness. Been going to the gym with a work buddy of mine at least 2-4 times a week and planning on going out to a karaoke bar i used to frequent pre-covid again on my weekends off. It's actually even older than that. It started as just helpful advice, not an attempt to flirt. This hits me so close to home. Over 5 years ago I was accused by a coworker of sexual harassment that I never did. She even made up names of coworkers to try and get me. I'm fortunate that my management had my back, and was found to be innocent. Since then, I've been afraid of women, and I've only recently been coming to terms with it, but it's still not easy to get past. I haven't been able to fight my fear enough to try asking out any women until just a few months ago, but that didn't go anywhere. Some nights the loneliness is just so heavy.

It's actually even older than that. It started as just helpful advice, not an attempt to flirt. Maybe the person had a genuinely bad day and doesn't want to smile because she/he doesn't have a reason to at that moment. What if they just walked out of a funeral? This hits me so close to home. Over 5 years ago I was accused by a coworker of sexual harassment that I never did. She even made up names of coworkers to try and get me. I'm fortunate that my management had my back, and was found to be innocent. Since then, I've been afraid of women, and I've only recently been coming to terms with it, but it's still not easy to get past. I haven't been able to fight my fear enough to try asking out any women until just a few months ago, but that didn't go anywhere. Some nights the loneliness is just so heavy.
I smile when I'm with my mother, my aunt and my two grandmas. That's good enough for me. But then again, I'm Asian, Vietnam to be exact, we don't worry about crap like this.
I'm already in that status. At least I have Pyro, Steve and Bumblebee to cheer me up :D

I grew up bullied and alone. By the end of highschool I realized I needed to take risks of failure, as well as work on doing a thing we call smiling. I actually had to work at it, my muscles to do such just wasn't there. I managed to actually have a few friends, and got a few declines to date, but I asked, and they weren't jerks, but I was really careful. I can only imagine how much harder today would be with social media being what it is today.

On a less related note, I think this could also be why the meme exists where men see for example idealized, fantasy physiques in media and instead of complaining, they often get inspired to work towards those unrealistic goals.
It's one of the few times we see men depicted as "cool" and "desirable" after all.
You want to know what I find hilarious, most of the comments and TikTok videos being made about the topic in a negative way are made by women. We don't have to say what the problem is, you literally show it for the world to see. Which is why guys would rather stay single than deal with someone like that.
The good news is that this is a vocal minority of women. Most women are actually decent people, just like most men are. But the decent people are much less motivated to post and like content to TikTok and Twitter about positive things.

I've had long relationships, but I see that the financial issue weighs heavily, I'm poor so the vast majority of women today think that financial status comes before love, and in a way I understand.
