      +Joe's Phenomenal great rundown, do you know if there is a place to get pan guards so they don't scratch coated cookware?

      That's an interesting idea! I haven't heard about anything like that, but it sure would be welcome... Might even be able to fashion one out of a rubber seal from some place like home depot or something.

    Another good use of an Immersion Blender is when you finish cooking a pot of beans and you want them to be blended together smooth for bean burritos or whatever.

    At the age of 62, I'm finally buying an immersion blender! I can't believe I've never used one before. I searched on YT 'how to use an immersion blender' and it took me here. I'm glad it did; great (and fun!) video. New subscriber.

    I recently purchased one to mix my protein shakes. I figured that the versatility that it had in regards to being able to select which container I wanted to blend my shake in (as opposed to using a provided container) would make the process simpler and less messy (if done right).

    Just got mine last month. I'm almost 70 and this has quickly become one of my faves in the kitchen. 1st used after cooking a whole bunch of celery, potato and cauliflower in my 3 qt Instant Pot. The end of my immersion stick is coated with silicon so it won't scratch my ceramic cookware. It made perfect soup. Tonight I used the beater attachment and made tapioca. Love it!

    OK here's a NON FOOD USE CASE. I have sensitive skin so tend to buy hypoallegenic lotion such as Avalon Organics buuut it's not emilient enough for my taste- especially in the winter (NE winters are dry). So my work around is to use an immersion belnder to blend the lotion with some virgin avacado oil or coconut oil to get the texture just the way I want it. And yes I still use the blender for food items as well.

    It's a fluke I found you because I wasn't looking for recipes and ideas for usage. I was actually looking to figure out how to turn it on for the first time, as I let my emersion Cuisinart blender sit up for several years without ever using it, plus I don't have the instructions. Well, after watching you while toying around with it I figured out that you have to engage the unlock button located at the base of the blender in order for power speed buttons to activate. Thanks for all the great ideas for usage because I would have used it a lot sooner, as I only knew about using it for making homemade soups which I never got around to. 👍👍

    I want to make mashed potatoes. I only make them now once every maybe 15 years because of of the mess of cleaning up the mixer. I would love to have them at least 2-3 times per month, though. Mashed potatoes is very good if you have a wonky tummy and acid reflux.

      You don’t just mash them?

    • @JoesPhenomenal
      @JoesPhenomenal  10 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @EYTSIRHC1 the immersion blenders make it more into a potato puree. A lot of people don't care for it that way, however pureed makes better plate presentation. I personally like a little lumpy texture to my mashed.

    I have a mid range Bamix, comes with 4 very little attachments, one's a flat disk which actually is for whipping, others are for chopping, creaming, and cutting meat and fiberous veggies, and it even slots into a grinder with larger blades which can chop herbs and grind spices and coffee beans.

      I was looking at videos a week ago trying to convince myself the Bosch is the best because it had a vacuum extension, but I saw a comment about the Bamix. I went into research mode to find flaws and reply he's not right... One day later I was ordering a Bamix, although it was 2-3 times the price i was willing to pay for the Bosch. It just looks so good and it performs better than my 1000W kitchen robot, which i already donated to get rid of it. My life changed in few days, i now rediscovered the joy of making smoothies and I can finally do cream soups. But what really convinced me was the pesto demo by Jamie Oliver, this bulky ones couldn't do it at a small scale since i think they don't fit a small jar.

      Yep... it's basically eggs and oil for the most part. Makes sense when you look at how many calories and fat you end up getting in a tbsp, doesn't it? When I started dropping weight, the first thing I did was stop drinking regular soda and I skipped the mayo on my burgers. Those 2 things made a massive difference without changing anything else.

    a year late but...I had a thunderstick blender for years that came apart, it finally broke and I could NOT find it any more to replace it. I finally found a Baymix brand and this one, whilst it does not come apart, has three 'blades' with it. one for chopping (more like the shape of the blades in a regular processor but smaller) and two discs one for whipping and one for beating I also brought a meat blade (like the sharp one on your blender) you can also get grinders and a 'processor' attachment but these have shot up in price and I'm not totally convinced they are needed (but I guess handy to have if you have spare cash)
    the baymix has two speeds but with the right disc on it can whip cold milk into a foam to use as a dessert or to top coffee or as a whipped cream alternative.

    Hi, Joe. Sorry to be a nuisance, but I was wondering which brand of immersion blender you would consider "affordable"?? As I said in one of my other comments on your other video, I'm going WFPB, and wanted to try making soups & stews in my slow cooker (I refuse to pay money for an instant pot....partly because I have a small kitchen & don't have alot of cupboard space for too many appliances). I'd mainly want to use it for semi-pureeing my soups/stews to a more creamy texture. Anyway, let me know what you'd recommend. Thanks.

    How many watts should the Immersion Blender be since I want to buy one but see 200W all the way to 1000W and is there any difference else why are there so many different power option.

    • @JoesPhenomenal
      @JoesPhenomenal  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, Ainz. It works a lot like it does with ordinary blenders. Typically, you get smoother results with more power since the blade spins faster and doesnt bog down as much. However, mine is only 300w and I have never had a issue with that and everything comes out buttery smooth... so, IMO power levels don't matter as much with immersion blenders... at least not with anything I've ever made with them. Hope that helps.

    • @JoesPhenomenal
      @JoesPhenomenal  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it depends on how much you are planning to drink. As long as you can get the head of the immersion blender submerged, it should be fine though, so I would think anything over maybe a cup and a half should be pretty easy.. otherwise, you can just run it on low speed if it has variable speed control on it.
