Interesting approach, have read the web-zine article and listened to the podcast, definitely appealing and the way to go. Would like to see it focused on more than the front end of the product's life. What's still missing is consideration and effort on making the entire product's lifetime sustainable. Which means design work to maximize the products operational life, AND how the product is decommissioned at end-of-life - how it can be re-cycled, re-purposed, or re-used in some other way.
