    With the third volume of How to Dance Through Time, learn many aspects of Italian Renaissance dance by practicing one famous dance suite, Nido d'Amore (Nest of Love). The suite's four parts comprise a romantic, episodic story of a couple's courtship and reveal universal love themes. In The Majesty of Renaissance dance, Carol Téten leads dancers through the four parts of the Nido d'Amore. The suite, typically performed and viewed by Italian Aristocracy, begins with a refined introduction (The Opening), explodes with energetic jumps into a male display of bravado (The Galliard), builds to mutual ecstasy (The Saltarello), and culminates in a statement of strong individualism (The Canary).Concise instructions and historical background help today's dancers create romantic expressions in yesterday's dance language.Professional dancers demonstrate in period undergarments, which show the feet and allow viewers to learn the steps more easily. A final performance is in full period costume. Most people who buy this DVD also buy the Companion CD. With 40 years of experience teaching and performing dance, Carol Téten provides clear instructions and entertaining context. Volume III is recommended for people with basic dance experience. So I ended up here because of John Wick 3. How? Well Angelica Huston is in it. So? Well she’s still so pretty I wanted to see if she’s mixed. It turns out her mom was an Italian prima ballerina. Then I wanted to know what a prima ballerina is. Googled it and It seemed so interesting that I wanted to know about the history of ballet. It turns out that the first ballets were more like this type of dancing in this video rather than the modern form.
    That’s how watching John Wick got me here. 😉

    The style of the era was flexed foot. That was considered elegant.

    Qué horror de gagliarda...Ese hombre no tiene equilibrio y su cuerpo debería mantenerse elegantemente recto mientras salta...pero NO, no lo consigue.

    Ach! The first woman isn't wearing all her clothing! She's half naked ;p Interesting though

      The videos show each dance with dancers both fully clothed and undressed, so as to better see the steps.

      Heathbee C I'm just teasing, which is why I had my tongue stuck out thusly ;p

    • @heathbeec
      @heathbeec 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      It can also mean you're panting with lust and flirtatiously winking at a half-naked woman. I assumed you meant that jokingly, but I don't know your life :)

      @PhantomQueenOne 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Heathbee C I belong to the SCA SCA.org. And the standard response to a person walking around in 'mundane' clothing even if fully dressed it 'OMG they are naked!', because they aren't dressed in garb or only partially dresses in garb. So it's just a joke.

    I I don't like his dancing, too modern. In which mean too soft, and thee feet pointing up like that in the galliard, naa... where is the elleganza?
    But she was desirable :)
