At school, Salem State, they had ACLU and local charities gave us a speech on how important it is to take care of asylum seekers. I raised my hand and I presented very similar facts that you presented (I read that homelessness went up by 54% in the state in one year) and I asked them “how is this going to affect local residents?” And their only answer what “people are just going to have to get used to more densely populated living conditions and imagine all the food and culture they are bringing.” These are the same hypocrites that believe in climate change and how we are responsible for the world’s pollution and yet bringing more people here increases their carbon footprint by 16 times. It is complete madness for democrat thinking.
Folks only need to take a walk around South Station, Downtown Boston, South Boston & Cambridge among many other places to witness with their very own eyes the insanity of homeless folks, beggars, drug addicts, thugs & migrants roaming, wandering etc...
Why would anybody join the military if u stand in a line with people who got here 2 seconds ago. Where is the upside to paying state taxes for a lifetime? Or when your family sacrificed for our wars? If everyone is in line together with zero preference for locals, i see mismatched incentives for being a good citizen.
The whole state is going to end up like NYC or California if we don't get with the program asap. My town is completely taken over by the biden migrants and I'm in little old Kingston next to Plymouth. How did this happen
I do not support illegal immigration in any shape way or form. However, imagine how different the conversation would be if they came over here and we didn’t give them a total free pass on everything. I think it would be less pushback.
Mike, like your podcast. Boson is a political mess you must admit. Is it possible you think to move the statehouse out of Boston, I'm serious. I'm originally from New Bedford work in Iraq, live in Bangkok
I have an idea to help with the homeless problem. A lot of people have an extra bedroom or a couch for someone to stay on. A lot of these same folka are paying astronomical rents . So why couldn't these people bring in a homeless person or family and charge 25$ per day (760$) per month and have the state double it with an additional 25$ per day (currently the state pays $120 per day) and that person will collect 1520$ per month. Hence making rent much more manageable. A large majority of the homeless are not addicted or mentally ill. They just priced out or disabled. I'm sure the case managers or shelters can help weed out bad apples. This would allow the person to take work that pays less and still be a stepping stone to better paying employment in the interim. Plus imagine how good it would feel to help someone.
As a Massachusetts resident it pisses me off that we are paying for illegal families when they can’t even take care of our own
EXACT SAME with NYC, Chicago, Denver, San Francisco, LA, Seattle, etc.

This is political speech and a state school is prohibited from engaging in it.
Absolutely insane and unacceptable!

"Affordable housing" means anybody who can afford it.
