- Welcome to the July challenge hosted by @CeriGriffiths ! #GelyPostcardPlay
The guidelines are: 4"x6" size, use something that was made on a gelplate or made while using a gelplate to include digitals/printables, put the corresponding number on the front (July 1 would be a one, etc.), and have fun. If you want to play and don't have any gelplate related items just play along anyway. Do it when you can. If you don't make 31, it's okay.

I'm using June prompts by Paulla, Becky. and @EddieMakesArt for a jumping off point for each day. The printable for that can be found on Eddie's community page in TH-cam.
My goal is to post every day in July. Most videos will be short with some longer ones showing techniques on the gel plate, etc.
I will be choosing a winner from the comments for each postcard mid August. I'm making one to keep and one to give away each day. The giveaway is open to anywhere I can mail an envelope without filling out paperwork. If I can mail it with an international forever stamp, I'll mail it.

I like watching you flip through your postcards.
On the 4th I do a full flip-through of the cards.
I'm not doing the challenge but having a lovely time seeing all the ones being made. There are so many people I subscribe to to watch, I wouldn't have time to do one every day and see what everyone else is doing!! I do like Eddie's prompts. I may challenge myself to do something more regularly and use them. I'm getting braver! I sign up for a swap on Two Old Crows channel. I can't believe I did that and I may never do it again! I am not an artist. I don't know what came over me but I committed so I will follow through this time. Just maybe never again. I love doing the play, just not sharing the results.
But your postcards are great, simple, and complex when you look closely and beautiful. Very nice. ❤❤❤

I love looking at your 6x4's while you go through your box of them.
Darcy, do you recommend using mixed media paper for gelli prints? I only have watercolour paper, card stock and copy paper. I know the copy paper is not strong enough not to tear.
I do really love the daisies card.
I want to do the challenge but I'm not able to do every day. I will try though.
I have used cardstock on the gel plate with no problems. I use pretty much everything BUT 20 lb copy paper as it tears for me. Some book pages tear if I leave them too long and not long enough if that makes any sense (you'll see an example on the 6th).
Ceri says to just do what you can; it's okay to not do it every day. It should be fun and not a chore. We'd love to see what you do so remember to add the hashtag #gelypostcardplay when you share on any social media.

That basket is full of 4"x6" pieces that were cut down from larger gelplate prints, inked-up watercolor papers, watercolor papers where I actually used watercolor, and collage masterboards.

It's part of my process that some people do enjoy; you can fast-forward through those bits - I won't be offended. I did go ahead and weed through the basket and put similar ones together so it should be quicker on some videos (except ones where I start from scratch because there will be some of those).

I saw on ig you didn't use the #gelypostcardplay hashtag so you don't come up in that search. My ig posts showed up eventually on the loooong list of people sharing. I've found lots of people to follow and people I thought I was following but wasn't.
