OMG Patrick! First, let me say a big THANKS for this video after I asked you to make it! This and ALL of your videos have been a HUGE help in developing my site! I'll send the link soon so you can see how much you've helped me improve not only the visual aspect of the site but also the functional aspect! You'll never know how helpful your videos have been! THANKS man!
I'm so glad to hear my videos have been helping you improve your store. Are there any other Shopify tutorials that you would like to see on the channel?
This is brilliant! Thank you, thank you! I've been trying to figure out how to create the menu for days, sifting through countless videos, but this one is incredibly helpful!
Beautiful! thank you so much last night i spent a lot of time to search different kind of stuff for this mostly for old dawn versions and some are paid, you are a rock star!
I agree! I paid for a service to have a mega drop down, several minutes later I came across this video and requested a refund immediately. Patrick's coding was far superior in literally every aspect.
Hey I'm glad you feel that way and am happy you got a lot of value out of the video. I was thinking of making a part 2 to this video to improve the mega menu even more. Are there any specific features or improvements you would like to see?
@@codethatconverts Maybe an option where you can add different Featured Images to every collection. For Example Women and Men featured images to be different
Amazing video per usual! Do you have any tips for how to customize the mega menu further? Like on Kylie's site, the mega menu colour changes on hover. Maybe in part two? :)
Loved the video tried to sign up for emails got a page not found code, also tried to sign up for the extended mega menu and got an error message as well. I did subscribe to your channel for now to see if I can learn more while struggling to set up my Shopify store myself
Hello! I installed the extended mega menu and WOW! IT IS TRULY THE BEST!!!!!!! Question, is there a way for the feature photo to only appear in certain drop downs? Using your video as an example, let's say I wanted a featured image only under collections but not under discover or any other location? In addition, is there a way to have a separate feature photo for discover than collections?? You are amazing!
Is there also a way to feature multiple featured phots under one tab? so meaning under collections, can I have two featured photos? Can they only appear under collections? Can I add a label/title under said featured photos? Thank you for all your help
I'm glad you enjoyed the video. It is possible to feature multiple featured photos as well as feature them outside of the "collections" part of the menu. But doing so involves the use of metafields. You'll be glad to know that I will be making a part 2 to this video since it was so popular and will take all your requests into consideration.
Hi Patrick, great video :) the code was a little difficult to follow as someone who knows nothing about coding, can you make a video explaining where to place the codes?
The mega menu uses the default menu set up used on the dawn theme for mobile. But there has been so much interest around this video that I’m definitely going to be making a part two pretty soon will include some changes in the mobile version of the layout . Are there any specific things you’d like to see in the video?
@@codethatconverts not yet I'm still working with it now. But I was worried that this wouldn't work good on mobile which is a billion times more important since people mostly use there phones now. But once I played if I think of anything I can absolutely pass it along to you! Thanks for this video!!
There is a link to a tutorial in the description of the video. The tutorial is for the Shopify Dawn theme. As long as you're using that theme, it should work well for you.
Are you talking about hover effects over the image, the links or both? Also what are some other things you would like to see inside Mega Menu Extended?
I got it now with some coding, seems like the invisible padding closes the hovering effect over the top padding, I changed the padding to 0 and everything is working out great! Thanks again!
You can create a sub menu by just dragging a menu underneath another one and then moving it slightly to the right. In the video you can see me doing that. I also have another video on channel that talks about how to create drop-down menus. The process of making a sub menu is explained in there as well. Hope that helps.

Are there any “mobile” mega menus that you like? I could make a part 2 of this video
This is actually insane Subscribed!!!
Glad you liked the video.

Great helpful content, thanks! Will this code work for Shopify Spotlight Theme?
Thank You Sir! Epically awesome tutorial. Would it be possible to have the Mega Menu automatically open & close when a user hovers over it?
Of course it is possible and I’ll cover this in a future video about Mega Menus.
What are some other features you think you need in a mega menu?
Hi Patrick, line 537 is empty, i have done everything twice, im using Dawn 14.0.0 do you know why?
Send me an email and I'll see if I can help you out.
Hi Patrick, great video :) the code was a little difficult to follow as someone who knows nothing about coding, can you make a video explaining where to place the codes?
The link in the description should give you access to a video explanation of how to set it up.
You didn’t see it?
@@codethatconverts Thank you so much for the help! It worked great!
Just curious what about mobile? Was that taking into consideration during this development?
The mega menu uses the default menu set up used on the dawn theme for mobile.

Looks god! thnaks, howvever, my featured image has a scroll side bar on right. What size does the image need to be contained so no scroll shows?
The image I used for the example was 450 x 450 so try that and let me know how it works for you.
Should I change a theme to get mega menu ? Because my theme doesn’t have this option
There is a link to a tutorial in the description of the video.

I subscribed and asked for acccess but the extended menu code was not there!
Send me an email. My email is patrick@codethatconverts.com
I'll help you get it sorted out.
you didn't explain anything. How to create submenus?
You can create a sub menu by just dragging a menu underneath another one and then moving it slightly to the right.
In the video you can see me doing that. I also have another video on channel that talks about how to create drop-down menus.
